Thanks, didnโt even need a jacket last night. Short sleeve shirt was fine. Centro was crazy busy last night. Free concert in the Zocalo for an apparently big deal old school Argentinian singer Fito Paez. Kept my head on a swivel.
Uber from airport at 6 pm from Gate 7 at terminal 1. Cost was an incredible $10. It took the guy close to an hour because of the traffic. He kept going off script from his route to get around the traffic to Centro. The app has tip amounts set at 25 cents, 50 cents and 75 cents (in pesos). The most they allow to custom tip in the app is $7.50.
A little about the immigration process at the airport only because it was a little confusing to me since I was expecting to deal with an immigration agent. There are 3 lines. Americans use the left lane as well as some other countries. You make it to a kiosk where you scan your passport and look at a screen which takes a picture to compare. It spits out a piece of paper that includes information about when you got here and when you have to leave by (180 days). You must keep the paper to present when leaving the country. Then these clear doors open and you just walk thru and are on your way. I was confused because some people the doors wouldnโt open for them and they had to get in line for an agent. We didnโt have our passports stamped, just have this little piece of paper.
First 3 nights in the Centro, then we will decide where for rest of the stay, probably La Condesa or Roma Norte like everybody else.
