  1. makes me a little sad watching that.
  2. the thing i remembered at the time was we got a 1st and 10 at the TCU 47 and we did not have LJH in the game. I don't get it. These are the type of possessions that we have to make the most of, and having your best players in the game is making the most of. At least make the defense have to focus on LJH.
  3. yes, the OL has to block, the play action needs to work. also important is that you work on these specific situations with your players. the QB only has one place he is going with the ball. he doesn't have to go back and look for an open receiver. he is dropping back and throwing deep/semi-deep sideline. he has to be trained to throw the ball or if rushed throw it away. the receiver needs to be trained on how to draw the PI. he also needs to be trained on how to not let the defender catch it by mauling him, or if the pass was deep enough letting the receiver catch it and tackling him (good as a punt). It is all about coaches and players all understanding the specific situation and what they are supposed to do.
  4. This play from last year's game illustrates the difference in Snyder's understanding of the game versus our offensive coaches' understanding. 3rd and long from their 1 yard line. Our coaches basically give up in this situation because a feeling that a pass play is way too risky right there and we run the ball for a couple of yards. Snyder does exactly what you should do. Throw deep to the sideline man on man and try and get the pass interference. Really not risky at all, but high reward when it works. And it seems to work against us a lot. The receiver can catch the ball for a first down. He can draw the pass interference for 15 yards and a first down. He can break up the INT by mauling the DB if he needs to. No defense would ever accept the penalty when they would have a 4th and long by declining it. So K-State ends up going ahead and scoring a TD on this drive. We would have run the ball for two yards, punted, and gave the opponent the ball at our 40 if we are lucky. https://youtu.be/8m6s_UY-OKE?t=34m5s
  5. so you are telling me there is plenty of leftover avocados and watermelon.
  6. going for it was not the right call because we are not good at short yardage. if we're good at it then sure go for it. pitching the ball is just a horrendous call. greg davis liked to do that on 4th and short and it never worked. not sure what Herman has against the wildcat. it seems to be a very effective play on sort yardage and LJH is pretty good at it.
  7. once patterson punted, he had to go for the punt block after they stopped us on 3 running plays. blocking a punt for a TD was his only shot at winning that game. he needed a quick score. can't believe he did not even try to block, especially if he watched our previous games and how close people have been coming to our punts.
  8. I didn't seem to have you in my files as gay. Updated now.
  9. That last play gave me a pretty good idea for a play when you have no timeouts left and have to call a play to get out of bounds to stop the clock. Actually throw the ball in the wide open middle of the field where you can get an easy 20 yards. Then have the receiver stop and throw to your guy who is just behind him but in he sideline. That guy catches it and steps out of bounds.
  10. i joked to a friend yesterday during the first quarter of the bama game about this exact attitude by aggy if bama blew them out. what is good for bama is good for aggy. of course i wasn't really joking.
  11. And you have never been able to do that a few steps after the ball has left the hand. It's like someone pushing the ball carrier two steps after he they are in the white on the sidelines. It might not be a bad hit but it is a late push/hit and has always been called.
  12. You have never been able to shove the QB late like that, whether he goes down or not. This wasn't one of those called like the Green Bay call.
  13. I don't get the beef with the roughing the passer call. He shoved him clearly a few steps late.
  14. I thought taking the punt over the penalty was a no brainer. Every decision you have to make a risk/reward analysis. Re-kick was very high on the risk while pretty low on the reward.
  15. Ross was from San Antonio at some point.
  16. Reading surly in the shitter at Buccees on the way home from the game is becoming a tradition.
  17. One prediction... on our first 3rd and 4 or 5 we will throw that little inside slant to Beck. It worked well the last game. I like the play. I like slants in general on third down. It won't work this time with TCU expecting it. Then our coaches will be like "shit what do we do now. That was our play."
  18. It's not like Watson is good at that or anything.
  19. Isn't the way to counteract this by running good dose of running back screens?
  20. That is what bugs me the most. She was talking about how he has some mental problems. Some kind of anger management issues. Yet she just sits there filming it and not doing what she can to get her husband to just leave. "Honey let's go. It isn't worth it".
  21. That is good but you don't score points running the ball and getting first downs in itself. You have to take advantage of the play action downfield passing that it opens up. Combine those two things and we are good.
  22. The DA's quote about how people should be more worried about wrong acquittals is disgusting. I wish he would be convicted of something he didn't do and see if his attitude changed.
  23. Deshaun Watson forced to buy a Samsung.
  24. pretty sure the WB was referred that way by a few black employees as a running joke, not by the white employees.
