  1. I've played with him a few times this past year. Good guy so I'm glad for him. That's a very nice score.
  2. You'll find varying opinions on this one but I would answer you with a "both". I prefer to go into a room/game with at least 3/4 buyins in pocket and always match the high stack at the table up to $800 or so in a 1/3 game (unless its a brand new table). If the table is established and $800/$1000 is the high stack I will match and then keep another two/three standard buyins ($300/$400) in pocket. I am always willing to play every dollar I bring to a game so I don't have any concerns about going back into the pocket to add on if the high stacks at the table continue to get bigger. Some people prefer to keep smaller stacks on the table with backup in pocket. I don't subscribe to that theory, I want the most chips in play as possible when the nuts come around, especially in some of these crazier Texas card rooms these days. I feel like Vegas poker is a lot more standard and have way less maniacs so I don't mind a smaller stack strategy there.
  3. Doyle Bramhall II tomorrow night at the Continental Club in Houston.
  4. No, not a Spinner (see below), its missing the black tips on pectoral and bottom of the caudal fin. I'm thinking its a Finetooth but possibly a Sharpnose.
  5. Took the youngest boy surf fishing on "Lake" Sargent on Saturday. Three bulls went 33", 36" and 38". The smaller two he caught drifting in the kayak past the 3rd bar with fresh whole whiting and the last one was caught on the shark rod from the beach with a 10" whole whiting. It was a fun day. Out there for over 4 hours and I probably spent no more than 20 minutes in a chair, wore my ass out.
  6. Agreed. I was pleasantly surprised with the OSU game but there is no way I'm buying 10-2. They'll have to prove it to me one game at a time.
  7. ^^^^^ Good job of not absolutely kicking the shit out of that dumbass! (assuming you didn't)
  8. I absolutely hate this one due to the fact there is not one asshole in this country that would not get up off of the ice chest to let someone grab a beer. How did no one speak up in the production meeting and say "there is no way this would happen in real life"? https://www.ispot.tv/ad/whrM/lowes-the-moment-backyard-party
  9. Yes, I've been there multiple times since it is so close to me. Pros: Very new, nice and clean room that is very well lit with plenty of space and tv's. All new tables and chairs Service is good (byob) Same pay structure as the other clubs - $15/day - $15/hr Very soft players Location for westsiders who don't want to drive to Galleria area Cons: NOT ENOUGH PLAYERS - biggest gripe right now is that there is just not enough of a player base. Rarely can fill one table without operators/off-clock employees playing No food - have to order from Little Woodrow's or Landry's next door. Security seems to be pretty lax. One security guard stationed in the parking lot has been all I have ever seen. Bottom of the barrel dealers. Not doing a horrible job but they are def having a tough time keeping any good/great dealers on staff due to lack of play. Overall, I think most will enjoy playing there as the player base continues to grow. At this point if time isn't an issue I would rather go down to POPC or Prime since I know there will be plenty of action at multiple tables. If I don't have a lot of time, I'll take what I can get and play there. I would call them first before going and ask them A) if a game is currently on and if yes, B) how many players because they routinely start games with only 2 or 3 members and fill the rest of the table with 3 or 4 operators/employees. Not that they are trying to be nefarious, they are just trying to get/keep the game going.
