  1. Oh yeah, we call them skips here in Texas. Ladyfish most other places. Kind of like the cajuns call ling (us Texans call cobia) lemonfish. Also cajuns calling crappie, white perch. I love all the different names.
  2. Oh and somebody fucked up pretty good. Not sure if Beryl related or not. The pond behind Woody’s.
  3. Hit the surf behind Woody’s in G Town yesterday in the rain for a bout an hour. Gulls started working not far down from me so I moseyed towards them and started catching. The shrimp were flipping out of the water to get away from the trout. Eventually I was right in the middle of them and probably could’ve hand netted a few trout. Never been in the middle of something like that. Crazy. Caught a quick limit and headed back to the truck. Good times. Note: skipjack was kept strictly for jetty bait purposes.
  4. Its an Allman Brothers or Marshall Tucker Band feel for me. Love it.

Just got through spinning the new one in its entirety. Kind of same as before. 2 or 3 really good ones and the rest meh. But by now with 4 or 5 albums he’s got maybe a 10 or so really good ones. I’ll take that. And I agree with those above, Ragweed is my favorite.
  6. Was thinking about going for it but many, many reviews online are saying the same thing…….jacket but no pants.
  7. We must use the same starting word. Wordle 1,128 2/6 🟩⬛⬛🟩🟨 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  8. Sounding good. I figured he would get better as he gets older. A lot of his earlier stuff was a little immature and hard to get into but he’s got talent for sure.
  9. All are great but those two are my favs for sure. He knocked it out of the park with this one.
  10. New Sturgill (Johnny Blue Skies) tomorrow. Very interested to see what its gonna be like. He hasn’t disappointed me yet (other than Dood and Juanita a little bit).
  11. Tide up about a foot in the last couple hours.
  12. https://tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/inundationdb/cidstorm.html?stormname=Beryl This makes me feel a lot better. Not really worried about the wind, just the surge. This is very manageable.
  13. And the first rain band has arrived in Galveston.
  14. I’m on Tiki and water levels are still normal. Tide will be going out all night with low tide at 3:30am (probably around landfall time) so that will help a bunch. I’m good with 4 to 5 feet of surge but after that I’ll be worried about my boat. If your on the West end I would be puckered up a little bit more.

  16. Third single from the new Red Clay Strays. Another banger. All three singles are great but Devil in My Ear my favorite so far. These boys have it.
  17. 11am to 1pm with a little time to kill. Usually not the best time mid summer but I guess the full moon underfoot was helpful. Two twin reds right at 20 and a nice fat trout at 19.
  18. Sorry….in Tiki in Galveston.
  19. Just about a foot or so over the bulkhead this am but high tide was around 8am. Guessing we should be back to normal by this afternoon.
  20. I had to put the set in the closet. Once I started raising kids golf had to take a back seat and I just didn’t get to play enough to keep hitting those blades. Its a good idea though. I didn’t realize it was that cheap.
  21. Agree 100%. That wedge posted above played any shot within 115 yards. Full, punch, flop, fluffy rough, high and soft with an open clubface, quick short runner with lots of roll to the pin, bladed just like a putt, etc. All about hand position and clubface control. One time after getting frustrated with the putter that summer I played a whole round putting with that wedge and had 28 putts.
  22. Here was my favorite. Played with it for about 25 years.
