  1. Would like to see Max Grubbs start next Sunday, not an indictment on Bing as he will have better days but I feel like Grubbs earned a weekend spot after last year All in all a great weekend
  2. He's out, go eat another burger Holliday
  3. Geez... ball was outside but that ump has fucked us all night with that
  4. The fact that we are paying Cody Howard to play baseball here is incredible because I would pay him to walk across to the other dugout right now
  5. That is a tough ball to read off the bat
  6. Cody Howard making this roster is easily the biggest surprise for me. No idea what Schloss and Max saw in him
  7. Favorite thing about Borba is he is almost always ready to hit a fastball
  8. He has not but it’s been 3 right handed starters this weekend. Still surprised he hasn’t played this weekend
  9. If Ole Miss could run rule that would be nice
  10. Clemson getting taken behind the woodshed right now, 10-2 Ole Miss
  11. Hopefully Kade pitches well, will be interesting to see how the bullpen shakes out going forward. Think we already found out Ruger is going to be our Gage this year. Will Mercer going to slot into the back end just fine. I think Dre will be fine Schloss just needs to learn he isn't a house fire guy, give him a clean 6th or 7th and Dre will easily give this team 30ish quality innings this year out of the pen. This team has a lot of pitching, now it is just about finding out who can perform when the bullets are live. At the end of last season I put Luke Harrison in the Cody Howard category of need to hit the portal so watching Luke dominate the strike zone yesterday with a fastball topping 90mph was pretty incredible given what he displayed last year.
  12. I think Kimble only had 24 walks or right around that. Kimble had more walks Mendoza had less strikeouts. May end up being a moot point would like more speed up there but just my personal preference. I remember Jared hit .200 his 1st month as a Freshman batting in the bottom 1/3 of the order and then conference play hit and it was like a light switch flipped. Got bumped to leadoff shortly after. Hopefully could see something similar with Rodriguez preferably skipping over the hittting .200 for a month part
  13. He has great bat to ball skills, sprays the ball all over the field, love his bat. That’s why I would love to hear his reasoning because putting a Clydesdale at leadoff isn’t my cup of tea. Love everything about Kimble but the speed. I guess we will see if it becomes a moot point.
  14. Would still like to see Schloss scrap Kimble at leadoff. I am curious as to the reasoning behind the decision.
  15. 11.2 innings, 6 hits, 0 ER, 1 BB, and 12 Ks
  16. That slider from Luke is going to be tough on lefties all year
  17. Don’t understand Kimble in the leadoff spot, hope that does not continue.
  18. On the bright side I guess we can classify this as a “mostly peaceful” assassination attempt
  19. It will reach a point where it eventually levels off but in the near future I see it growing especially with how competitive the SEC is going to be going forward. If X team deems that the best pitcher in the portal is worth 600K then that is what it is. Will be interesting to see where the market does ultimately start to settle. I think you’ll see more and more of what A&M is doing this year which is spend out the ass when you have a team that you believe can win it all and then not spend in years where you feel like you aren’t quite there.
  20. Is he? Root was pitching in the AAC (12th best conference in the RPI), Patton pitched in the Big West (13th best). You don’t just light $400K on fire because that is the best available although I agree the market ultimately is what it is. Decision would be even easier if I knew what was going on behind the scenes. Total hypothetical but if you are giving me $400k to spend on Patton/Root or bringing back a Flores/Thomas, I’m choosing Jared or Jalin.
  21. There is a difference between competitive NIL and throwing $400k at a starter from Long Beach State. Myles is good, he isn’t $400k good, assuming that is what he got paid. A&M is hyper focused on throwing the kitchen sink at next year and I don’t blame them, might not come that close again. On the flip side Schloss is pillaging their 2024 and 2025 class and Earley probably doesn’t even realize it because he is shitting himself worrying about how not to fuck next year up. EDIT: Obviously the market is only going to get more expensive but none of these guys are worth that, not even Root, Fisher, etc... Teams throwing bags hoping to find the next Skenes when there isn’t one out there
  22. Well the list of universities I would have rather seen him go to is endless
