  1. When you call out players who have competed their ass off this year, yeah I have an issue with that.
  2. The best part about you is you don’t even possess an ounce of reading comprehension. I’m not even defending Pierce and you have no idea because you are that fucking stupid.
  3. No you are embarrassing yourself taking an unfounded claim and championing it as gospel. I even stated I can’t prove it, that is the beauty of coming on a fan forum and using “sources”. The way the team responded all season long and what the gentleman above proclaimed do not add up.
  4. I’m not mad at all lol. You are the one that retorts to incoherent insults when someone gives you answers that you don’t want to hear to the questions you ask. The Big 12 isn’t the SEC, never has been never will be. This team would not have sniffed 9/10 conference series in the SEC. The Big 12 is no different this year than it was any other year. It just played 6 more conference games so the overall records suffered and teams beat up on each other more. Winning 9/10 series is not something a group with no team chemistry/camaraderie would accomplish.
  5. You can stop now man….. Erik Bakich isn’t going to suck your dick.
  6. Oklahoma has a win over Tennessee and Oklahoma State has a win over Arkansas. The Big 12 is pretty much no different than it is any other year. Teams play good and they play bad no matter how good they are. LSU almost won the SEC tournament and they lost to Southern in the Box.
  7. A shit show? This year has been virtually no different than any other year. The Big 12 being a distant 3rd in the RPI. No this team doesn’t win 9/10 in the SEC. That has nothing to do with the point that was made. Why did the dysfunctional team, with no team chemistry/camaraderie, that believes their coach doesn’t coach, keep winning He said they have no team chemistry/camaraderie
  8. I certainly can’t prove that. I will say a team that managed to win 9/10 conference series and finish 35-22 did not exhibit the characteristics of a team that hates their coach and hates each other. I’d need more than 2 hands to count how many times this team could have mailed it in this year If his friends son is Grant Fontenot or Cody Howard, then it makes perfect sense.
  9. This is like the aggies who say they met an opposing fan who said that A&M was the greatest and most hospitable road atmosphere they have ever experienced
  10. I’d try and get through game 1 with Grubbs and using Gage as little as possible if it all. Some combination of Cade and Dre out of the pen Pierce tends to be pretty conventional. If we get to the winners bracket game 2 against A&M, I would lean using everyone and try to avoid letting A&M see anyone more than one time through the order. I’d lean starting Lebarron because I trust Ace more out of the pen.
  11. That time of the year
  12. Really young but a lot to like. Somewhat similar to Max Weiner who Schloss just hired from the Mariners. McGrath helped produce George Kirby out of Elon and followed him into the Mariners farm system as a coach for a few seasons.
  13. One thing to remember as well that won't make a massive difference but could make a subtle one, would be that if we do beat UL on Friday, with us being the 3 seed we would be the home team in game 2 against A&M
  14. It is not false, you just don't believe that Smart is comparable to Bakich and Walter. Which is fine. I do agree that organizational structure from the top down matters greatly, but that is not ultimately why Shaka failed. There is a better coach than Pierce, that doesn't take me having to have a conversation with, to see that, who I also believe is attainable. Wasn't able to edit my post to add before you quoted it. I would not have hired Pierce back in 2016. So what, we don't have a time machine and all things considered I think he has done a really good job as a whole. If you think Bakich is the guy, who am I to say otherwise as a matter of fact. I don't believe he is, and he hasn't shown anything to state otherwise. Which brings us back full circle to hiring Pierce, if you wouldn't hire Pierce, why would you hire someone who has had one Cinderella run as a 3 seed and has no conference titles in almost 14 full seasons as a HC? If he had some conference titles along the way and say another Omaha appearance while at Michigan to show some semblance of sustainability than I would say go for it. You don't like Pierce enough to take a shot in the dark and dance with a devil you don't know for the sake of change. I would rather dance with the devil I do know. That really seems to be the difference.
  15. Who hired Shaka is irrelevant, that wasn't the comparison. If the names CDC has at the top of his list are the same ones that are being mentioned in this thread, you are about to hire a baseball coach for one of the reasons Shaka was hired. If CDC has a 2 time SEC champ at a baseball doormat at the top of his list and has good reason to believe he would jump, then sign me up. That is the only name that moves the needle at this time in my opinion.
  16. Honestly probably a fair comparison, and guess who replaced Rick Barnes? Shaka fucking Smart because why? Oh yeah he had that one Final Four run that one year at VCU. That is pretty much exactly what is playing out in this thread, just the baseball version.
  17. I'd say toast, way to much excitement for a regional berth
  18. If you wanted to be really mean and candid we could cut that 13 pitchers in half lol. I would assume Witt travels and dresses
  19. They switched it within the last few years. The actual academic institution may still go by Lafayette because when I went to the university's main website it still says University of Louisiana at Lafayette but I believe almost all the sports programs if not all have dropped the Lafayette. No idea why
  20. No that is why I said the "crowd" not you personally. And in responding to you I'm responding to a general group that has a similar sentiment as you
  21. I'm not going to put words in your mouth but the crowd that wants to fire him are holding him to a standard that would dilute Augie's 20 years at Texas down to 5 good years (6 if you want to throw in 2014) which is asinine, especially in baseball. We are at the point with many of you where I would almost like to see y'all running the coaching search just for the pure entertainment of it. "Yeah so Erik we really want you to be the next HC at Texas, now lets get into the expectations. 0-2 at Omaha is unacceptable have to win at least 1 game every yea...."
  22. No what ends up happening in these arguments is you take a hall of fame coaches entire career and body of work and put it up against someone’s story who is still being written. Pierce’s time may come to an end at the end of this season, not up to me. For one David Pierce isn’t Augie that shouldn’t even have to be stated. Comparing to Gus is an excercise in futility partially because it was a totally different era and partly because if we hired our next head coach from South San Antonio High School in 2024 this board would lose their collective minds. Augie’s track record from Cal State Fullerton carried him through the beginning of his tenure at Texas. His first 5 years amounted to 1 CWS appearance, 2 losing seasons, and not one regional host. That is hardly having the program ready to rake for awhile. Now the next 4 years they went on a run that is going to be hard to rival by any college baseball program with how much more competitive the sport is getting year after year. To make a long story short, Augie’s first 5 years didn’t really inspire much of anything and then it happened, baseball can be fickle like that. Reality is Texas has the #3 class in 2024 and #2 class in 2025 (subject to change because of the draft). That’s with the last 4 years resulting in CWS (Big 12 title), CWS, SR (Big 12 title), season not over. If you are going to blow that up, you better be damn sure you have the next Augie Garrido on line 1, not fucking Erik Bakich and Tom Walter.
  23. No it’s because according to yours and others “standards” Augie had 5 good years out of 20 at Texas
  24. The Twitter account that puts those together is called fridaystarters
