  1. Nope, LHN is really showing Tennis over the baseball game. Live stats it is. 1-2-3 first for Grubbs
  2. With all due respect, based on your criteria on what is considered winning, all Walter and Bakich have ever done is never win
  3. Really like that lineup, would have swapped Will and Max but I’ll live.
  4. At the end of the day it’s all wishcasting and whoever you believe is the answer is your prerogative. But if the plan is to go money whip youth at least put Vitello #1 on your list. Spent several seasons under Schlossnagle and Van Horn coaching in the South and turned Tennessee around in the snap of a finger while competing in the toughest conference in college baseball.
  5. No, the reason I never take these conversations seriously is because the names floated around either aren’t realistic or are guys with worse resumes than Pierce Bakich has 1 CWS appearance in 14 full seasons with 0 conference titles. Walter has 1 CWS appearance in 27 full seasons with 4 conference titles (3 at George Washington). The only thing they have on Pierce is youth and Walter has a cool pitching lab. What have Bakich and Walter done that makes you believe they are going scorched earth on college baseball with the same resources Pierce has had?
  6. So what have Tom Walter and Erik Bakich done to pull the trigger on canning Pierce
  7. I really don’t think Ace is going to need anybody to pair with him. His stuff plays. It’s not overpowering but his command of it is not a fluke at this point. There will be days when the wind is blowing out that he may run into trouble but that could be said about any arm. Biggest thing is he has a rubber arm so even in starts where he has given up 3 or 4 runs he can still give you 7 or 8 innings.
  8. Absolutely love the decision to let Ace finish that game
  9. I think Ace is going to allow this team to turn the corner and start rattling off series wins. Will be interesting what Pierce does with Hurley. Wouldn’t mind keeping him as the midweek starter if he can build off Wednesday’s performance because this team can’t afford any midweek hiccups with the hole they’ve dug themselves in early this year.
  10. Ace isn’t pitching until next Saturday anyway, might as well see if he can get 3 more
  11. Doesn’t mean it needs caveats. Kody was a career .240 hitter in 385 ABs, he got better under Pierce. Why does that need to be a caveat and negative.
  12. Gasparino needs to be dropped back into the 9 spot as well. It was helping him a lot being able to see more fastballs with teams challenging him trying to avoid turning the lineup over to Thomas and Powell
  13. I don’t know why this team is afraid to strikeout looking but for some reason they all seem absolutely prettified at the thought. We get deep into counts and guys just go into 100% swing mode. It kills them offensively, this team can hit but it doesn’t matter because no matter how good you are at the plate you aren’t going to consistently string together 3 and 4 hits an inning.
  14. Tommy Farmer needs to start eating into Porter and Galvans ABs as well. No reason for him to be wasting on the bench not getting opportunities to get better. Took so long trying to find a gif you didn’t see I edited it
  15. Jared Thomas, Jalin Flores, and Peyton Powell are the only 3 guys that don’t look lost and completely guessing when they are behind in the count.
  16. Rylan Galvan is Michael Cantu 2.0
  17. This team is hitting over .300, they just can’t seem to put a complete game together
  18. This team has potential, they just don’t do the little things well consistently enough.
  19. Don’t like to ever declare a series a must sweep but it would definitely be nice. Need the bats to show up all weekend. Hopefully Lebarron and Ace pitch well and give the staff some stability heading into the meat of conference play. Those two pitch well and it gives Pierce a lot of options and flexibility on Sunday to roll with the hot hand and start stacking series wins.
  20. I hope one day soon you find it within yourself to look in the mirror and let yourself enjoy some of the minor things in life like Texas basketball
  21. The Red Raiders are in trouble, lost 8-5 to the Mormons tonight
