  1. As it relates to comparisons though, I would have Gasparino watching Charlie Condon film on a loop in the offseason. Try to take bits and pieces from what he does and try to apply the things that he feels comfortable with. Condon is 6'6 with 46 walks to 36 strikeouts.
  2. Not making a direct comparison between him and Condon but I like guys who have very little movement pre pitch and while loading. Everyone is different but I think you see it with a lot of hitters that don't have very much going on tend to excel at limiting the whiffs. Bet Schlossnagle wishes he had this one to take back
  3. We have lost to some god awful teams this year and if you cope with the losses by saying teams like UCF are shit when they aren’t, more power to you. I shouldn’t have taken your bait, that’s on me
  4. Positives I guess are that Andre and Gage will be available for extended work tomorrow.
  5. Just hope you weren’t talking about UCF, because if you were then no point was made by me, you would have done that all by yourself
  6. I hope so, either that or you are lost. That or you weren’t talking about UCF
  7. Not a good call given the strike zone all day but it is what it is
  8. Well Cade is giving our offense a chance to come to life
  9. I wish there was a public easy access site for L/R splits in college
  10. Cade’s changeup is so sexy, chefs kiss
  11. Just as an overall look on yesterday and today, these strike zones have been tin cans which doesn’t help any pitcher but it royally fucks our staff. When you are having to throw the ball over the middle with 85-89 because the home plate ump is terrified of TrackMan, it is not a recipe for success
  12. Tonight it was more pitch mix than anything, he has hardly used his changeup tonight which is on Pierce and Gordon. He should be a 30+% changeup guy. Tonight it has been mostly fastball/curve. Not sure why
  13. That should be the last batter he faces
  14. No idea what we are doing with Ace this game, he should be a 30+% changeup guy and it feels like he is 70/20 fastball/curve right now.
  15. Rylan must be going through a batting stance crisis
  16. May just be an oversight since it doesn’t matter right now but the big 12 site lists the first official tie breaker being H2H
  17. He is an interesting piece because I would assume he comes back unless he just decides to hang up the cleats.
  18. @Hookem2147 Duplantier still has a year of eligibility left from Covid right?
  19. It would be nice to snag the 2 seed for the conference tournament because the top 2 seeds get a bye and don’t have to play on Tuesday.
  20. I have no inside info, just a general feel given the decisions made around the baseball program the last two years. Every win gets worse for CDC, because Pierce is putting them in an uncomfortable situation. People need to quit comparing Pierce to Strong (which is delusional) and Herman (which is stupid). Neither of those guys are in the same stratosphere as Pierce. CDC is 100% waiting to see what happens because had the wheels come off the decision is easy and there is less pressure and push back if you can him. Firing guys like Herman and Strong are easy, you fire someone who has made it to Omaha 3 out of 6 years and has won 3 conference titles in 6 years, you better be damn sure you have your guy because if you whiff there are going to be a lot of questions being asked about firing a pretty successful coach because some individuals around the program didn’t like him personally.
  21. Depending on how the next 5 games go I would probably sit Ace for the Big 12 tournament and would be reluctant to pitch Gage as well. Need both those guys as fresh and as healthy as possible come regional time. Next weekend is when I would test and see just how long Gage can go, start Lebarron game 3 against Kansas, hope he gives you 3 or 4 and then go straight to Gage and see how long he can go. Duplantier is a 1 inning guy most outings, if he is on he might be able to give you two. Tumis has a good slider with him its about fastball command but he probably has the best stuff of the rest of the guys in the back of the bullpen. As far as lefties I would lean Shaw first out of the pen but all of them are pretty much close your eyes and cross your fingers. Lummus has statistically been good but he has gotten some fortunate BABIP luck. Hurley to me is pretty much the if shit goes south guy, I think he is pretty much just the LBJ insurance policy at this point.
  22. Ole Miss beats A&M 4-3 Just when you are ready to bury Bianco
