  1. Will be interesting to see how much more rope Okie State gives Josh Holiday. 1 CWS appearance in 10 seasons (not including 2020). Meanwhile former player/alum Ryan Folmar is walking into your brand new ballpark with a small religious school in Tulsa and beating you on its way to Omaha.
  2. Would be in Texas best interest to focus out west in the transfer portal and try to poach kids looking to play big time college baseball where there are more eyeballs. Similar to what we did with Guillemette, Hurley, and Carlson.
  3. 2 one run losses, took a 5-3 lead over Florida to the 9th. Just couldn’t close it out. Two teams have to go 0-2 every year.
  4. Probably ends up at Virginia with Kyle Teel entering the draft
  5. He said EK was a plus defender. Just because you don’t steal bases doesn’t mean you aren’t fast or have elite speed. If college baseball kept track of bunt singles as a stat he probably leads the country. Just this past weekend I remember an instance where Stanford threw over on him at least 7 times in one AB. Eric had elite range in the outfield, was a very good glove, average bat whose average was inflated because of the hits he stole with his speed. But enough rambling because the main premise of your argument is that Mitch was forced out and told he didn’t have a spot on the team next year which didn’t happen given Pierce’s actions and comments to the public towards Mitch. Eric Kennedy had moments where he could have transferred and he didn’t, Mitchel Daly is being presented that same opportunity and HE CHOSE to move on. That simple.
  6. None of us will know because we weren’t in the room. Given how many opportunities Daly was given to turn it around, I would imagine the conversation was more of one that told Mitch they loved him but that he would have to compete for a spot next year and that there would be a very real possibility that he was a backup middle infielder. Daly going into his Senior probably didn’t want to risk that happening in his final year of college baseball. I would put it at a less than 1% chance that the staff sat Mitch down and straight told him they didn’t have a roster spot for him. This really isn’t that news worthy other than we are losing a good person and teammate because of the nature of competition. Wish Mitch the best.
  7. Steve Rodriguez and Woody Williams are mediocre??
  8. I’m interested to see what the staff does with Chase Lummus, feel like he sorta got lost in the shuffle this year.
  9. You think an MLB team still takes a flyer early in the draft on Witt or you just think Witt leaves regardless
  10. Pretty remarkable how some people just post and make statements completely devoid of context.
  11. Feel even worse for EK cause he couldn’t see it either. 5 years at Texas filled with a lot of highs and lows, believe he is the only guy that was apart of that 2019 team. Had the walk off against USF in 2021 super, 3 run shot against Tennessee to jump start the 2021 run in Omaha, and yet that’s the last memory you will have at Texas. I’ve always wondered what you even say as a coach after that.
  12. Honestly just gutted for Dylan, solo shot in game 2 against ECU last year to give Texas the lead, then walked it off in the 9th. 38 game hit streak this year, game tying single in the 8th, incredible career and yet he will probably never be able to get over what just happened..
  13. Yep, pitching will be a crapshoot for both. These games often come down to someone unexpected doing something that they normally aren’t capable of doing. So far for Texas this postseason that guy has been Zane. Lotta short leashes and riding a hot hand until he falters. As has been stated before both teams are pretty similar, Stanford with the edge offensively. 6-9 this weekend for Texas has done everything they can to keep Texas in this series, 1-5 has to step up tonight. Chase Lummus is a name I’d like to see tonight to counter the righties we will throw tonight in Witt, Hurley, and Morehouse. He’s got a great changeup and a solid fastball.
  14. Dowd and Dixon will both be available, Dixon probably in an extended capacity, Dowd probably more limited. Dixon has thrown 100+ pitches 3 times this year, Dowd has thrown 50+ pitches 9 times. They will both be ready and available for them. Key for Texas is capitalizing on the arm, like a Nick Dugan, who Stanford throws tonight trying to steal innings. I’d be surprised if Stanford tested the waters with Ryan Bruno again These games where it’s all hands on deck are impossible to predict. There is a good chance Lucas pitches for us tonight
  15. They are in the same boat we are, they just have a better offense than we do, which doesn’t bode well for us but that’s why you play the games.
  16. Agreed, definitely had much more faith in the offense last year though
  17. Hopefully we get a good game tomorrow. Pierce is probably hoping to get 5-6 out of Witt and Hurley then he will probably be looking to get to Zane as quick as he can. This is a really good Stanford team and we’ve been coast to coast in the span of a week. Gotta dig deep for one more.
  18. I’m not saying put it at 11 AM but at least 5 CT at the latest. There will be teams landing in Omaha by the time the game is over tomorrow
  19. The NCAA and ESPN are a bunch of bitches for putting the game tomorrow at 7CT when there are only two games.
  20. I will say, that kind of stuff can hurt you on the recruiting trail. As far as Quinn Matthews goes, respect to ya young man because that was gutsy
  21. Gotta say, after Austin Wood, I never thought I’d see someone come close again at any high level of baseball. Pretty insane
  22. Is that the first time Andre has featured a curveball this year? Certainly the most I’ve seen him throw it
  23. Somebody needs to search Garret’s hotel room, like flip that shit upside down
  24. Prospects don’t look good tomorrow, we are probably going to see a lot of Dowd and Dixon tomorrow
