  1. Massive Tristan. This is one of those games that is going to be an absolute roller coaster. Just have to take it inning by inning, pitch by pitch
  2. Tristan has had absolutely no luck this year at all
  3. This is going to be a dogfight. Guys just have to feed off their crowd
  4. I’m a fan and I can hardly take this shit, I don’t see how these players parents do it
  5. Tennessee is busy flipping off Georgia Tech outfielders in a regional. I like our chances
  6. If I'm not mistaken 7/8 of their qualified position players bat lefty. Hell of a matchup for us. If it reaches Sunday may even start Luke Harrison. Always odd playing solid mid-majors especially ones with the history of ECU. Only thing they really lack is CWS appearances and you are just hoping the baseball gods don't make their first trip at the expense of you. Also kind of funny how the season is sorta coming full circle with a trip back out to the Carolinas where we took some serious lumps on a week long road trip, this time just to North Carolina instead of South Carolina. Hardest part is getting to Omaha, if we get there I think we have the best shot to win it all of any team left in the field.
  7. “If you laugh, you think, and you cry, that’s a helluva day!” Oklahoma State, you just had a helluva day
  8. We need to schedule Air Force every year. Love that team and manager
  9. Don’t worry, Daddy is on their way to making their 38th college World Series trip. We will punk them again soon enough
  10. If there is any college program that knows how to choke with the best of them, it’s Arkansas
  11. That’s why I’ve wanted him to get starts this year. Some guys aren’t necessarily wired to come out of the pen. When you relieve you pretty much have to be on from the jump, no time to settle in.
  12. With Southard and Lebarron it’s going to be about consistency going forward, everything else is there for them to be phenomenal college pitchers. And as I type this he hits a batter 0-2
  13. He can yell at our entire infield from the couch now as he watches us in Omaha
  14. The Jennings do not have good self control. Can see how their son let a few pitches get away from him last night. Texas has as many National Titles as A&M and Louisiana Tech have combined CWS appearances… But remember, Kevin and Shelley have forgotten more college baseball than we will ever know.
  15. Yeah I saw a tweet that I can’t find now before the postseason started that there was already as many HRs hit this year as last year in way less games.
  16. The baseballs are definitely juiced this year. Certainly creates exciting postseason games/moments
  17. I hate Josh Holiday but what a comeback this would be by Oklahoma State. To pick yourself up off the mat from down 12-0 is insanity
  18. I’d like to see Lebarron or Southard get the start. Everybody is going to be on a short leash might as well see what the two most electric arms in the bullpen have and try and ride them long enough to get the ball to Marcus, Luke, and Cobb
  19. Struggled a little with command. Plus offense has been up all across college baseball. He has always had the sinker but he pitches to contact and when the walks are up and the ground balls find holes it’s a recipe for disaster. He is making himself more appealing at the next level though touching 95 out of the pen. As a starter he sat 90-92
  20. I try not to take kids like Tristan Stevens for granted. Felt like he got slighted by the MLB, came back, had about as bad a season as he could have imagined and had likely come to the realization that this is probably the last baseball he will play. Went to Pierce about trying to help the team out of the bullpen which was god awful for us in conference play and has found himself. What sports is about, never give up.
  21. Anybody is capable of being shut down by meh pitching. It’s baseball Tennessee got mowed down by a 6+ ERA Tennessee Tech reliever in a 3-2 loss earlier this year. We roughed up Jake Bennet, Brandon Birdsell, and Justin Campbell this year. All viewed as top arms in the Big 12, Birdsell being Big 12 pitcher of the year. Shit happens. No different than Pete giving up 6 ER to the same Oklahoma State team in Austin a month earlier and turning around and making them look sick in Arlington. Just like a good pitcher can be off, a bad pitcher can be on sometimes.
  22. If I was Pierce I would throw Stevens out of the pen game 1 of the Regional and Super Regional and use him as a starter/long relief in if necessary/elimination games later. Once you get to Omaha you get days off so you can be creative. If we go 2-0 in Omaha we can just ride Pete like Mississippi State did Bednar last year.
