  1. Dre coming back would be a significant win, one less hole you have to fill and could easily slot into your closer role next year.
  2. If they turn 21 before the draft they are eligible
  3. Jalin could use another year like Faltine (who is currently wasting away in A ball) but I doubt he sticks around through a coaching change
  4. Worth noting and it has probably been mentioned here before but Del Conte and Vitello would have crossed paths while Tony was an assistant at TCU.
  5. Man.. I know he is one of their own but at some point OkST is going to have to thank Josh Holiday for his service and move on.
  6. If we let go of Pierce and he has any desire left to coach, Rice would be pretty stupid not to hire him. Their baseball program has been left to wilt and rot
  7. He was born on 3rd base. They were the #1 national seed in 2017 and finished 3rd at Omaha, then won a national title in 2018, made a regional in 2019 and punted on Pat Bailey who was an interim. In comes Canham, you aren’t going to take over a program in a much better situation than that, about as good as it gets. They started the COVID season 5-9. Since then he has recovered nicely but he has hardly done anything to show that he has his fingerprints all over that Oregon State program. I don’t have a crystal ball, he may be the next Augie Garrido for all I know, Texas should have their sights set higher than Canham in my personal opinion. EDIT: If the goal of the next coaching search is to ball on a budget, he is probably the best candidate you will find
  8. I know Kendall’s tweet was posted in here but this is Pierce’s full answer to Danny’s question for those who are interested
  9. Wes Johnson with a phenomenal 1st year at Georgia
  10. The funny thing is I read an article the other day that suggested the opposite. Said Schloss actually brought up the idea of having the A&M women’s dance team at the baseball games and he was met with some push back
  11. Andre is probably the only one to expect back
  12. Damn… absolute guts. Appreciate you Ace
  13. So for the absolutely not Vitello crowd, what does his team do that most other major college programs don’t?
  14. What’s the timeline on post season player meetings? A week after? I know it’s soon @Hookem2147
  15. Yeah at the end of the day neither option is ideal and this is definitely different than Augie’s final year back in 2016 because that season ended on the final day of the regular season so we have less down time this time around. If CDC handles it correctly I would imagine Pierce is fired as soon as CDC has a guy who has all but signed the dotted line behind closed doors
  16. I don’t think any option is ideal, firing your coach isn’t ideal. I personally would rather not sit with an open having position for possibly 2+ weeks but there are cons to both decisions. We will find out soon
  17. You let him twist in the wind and communicate through back channels which I’m sure has already been happening.
  18. I think that answer pretty much tells everything you need to know about his fate
  19. I didn’t say Tulowitzki was a legitimate candidate, reading comprehension is hard. I also wouldn’t hire one with 4 years of HCing experience who was handed a program a year removed from winning a natty. I honestly even thought I made it pretty clear this time with “I’m not hiring Tulo” but I guess not Change is needed, don’t see Canham as the guy You can’t read
  20. It’s not a lazy take but I know you don’t deal well with opinions that don’t align with yours.
  21. Him and Canham are both 39, Canham has 4 years as a HC at the college level and was born on 3rd base with that Oregon State program and has failed to make it to Omaha yet. Im not hiring Tulo, but if you are considering Canham, Tulo really isn’t that far fetched
  22. Porter Brown was up 3-0, knew 3 fastballs were coming, and had 2 blown by him
  23. I’d honestly rather see Jack
