  1. who is Johnson? Assume you mean Howard? Got a certain hotel chain on the brain?
  2. So you’re saying that we shouldn’t expect a QB to get better over the course of his career? What they’re good and bad at as a freshman is set in stone?
  3. its a rhetorical device for "you're moving the goalposts"
  4. What is your point even? That his being billed as elite but is actually mediocre reflects more on the fans than Quinn himself? I can't even tell what your arguing in this thread other than being against any criticisms of Quinn.
  5. The fact is the ship has sailed on making the switch to Arch. I do think Arch would’ve given us the best chance at winning if he had remained the starter from Georgia on. Half a season of reps would’ve been enough to get him ready for the playoff. I don’t think we would’ve seen worse outcomes to this point because let’s be honest, Georgia is the only good team we’ve faced and they pushed us around. But now, with two games left in the regular season? You have to roll with Quinn. Opportunity missed imo. But I am very afraid that he is going to piss down his leg against aggy. We might win bc of our defense but I’m not expecting much from the O. And I can’t see Quinn leading us to wins against anybody in the playoff outside of a byu or Boise state

  7. I don’t know why Sark bothers with deep posts. He cannot hit them. I don’t really recall any of the top of my head outside of the one to Worthy against Bama. He can throw a good go route at times but the post is probably less than 10%
  8. Ok name whatever TE you want in his prime and he’s not catching that one. Give it up.
  9. Passer Efficiency is a pretty crap statistic, it doesn't account for rushing. If VY was the same threat for running the ball as quinn I don't think we'd remember him as fondly.
  10. not running the ball. 2.8 ypc. They pass blocked well, which has always been the strength of this OL under Flood. You'd think these massive dudes would be better at throwing their weight around.
  11. Sure, but when you change what the QB is seeing from pre-snap to post-snap like OU and Georgia did it makes it a lot harder to make plays, especially when your QB has a tendency to revert to bad habits when rattled. They made it easy for a rhythm QB to know where to go with the ball, and a quick to counter OC know how to attack your tendencies.
  12. they blitzed a lot, but crucially they didn't vary the back end. It was a standard cover 3 shell like 90% of the time
  13. I'm not sure where this is coming from. Taking out sack yardages, only Georgia kept us to what I would consider a bad ypc. I think more than anything Sark is abandoning the run too often, combined with negative plays forcing us to throw.
  14. plenty of RPOs don't have an extended mesh, that is more of a veer and shoot look. You just need to look at the left side of the line, they are run blocking. If it was play action their steps would be backward
  15. that is very clearly an RPO which should've been handed off, though Vandy did a good job of disguising the blitz to muddle Quinn's read.
  16. Lol this is why people are saying you must be related to him. Not the most mobile? He’s glacial Footwork isn’t the best? It’s been terrible his whole career Shaky with the deep ball? He’s been terrible at it his whole career A little panicky with pressure? He has abysmal pocket presence As far as some people are taking being blind haters (some like immamac are definitely taking it way too far) you are just as much being a sunshine pumper.
  17. The point I think is that while Quinn wasn’t the clear weak link yesterday like he was against OU and Georgia, the fact is that he needs things to be perfect around him for the offense to not be anemic. Because of his inability to reliably throw the ball down the field or make something out of nothing, there is no margin for error. Thatguy excusing him for every other player around him not executing flawlessly is damning him with low expectations imo
  18. I quickly rewatched to reassess the play of the OL predominantly on negative plays Can Williams with a very stupid late shove to the face mask for a PF First holding on Banks was BS. I truly don’t see what the ref could’ve seen to call it. He just fell forward and pushed his man. First sack was Blue not picking up blitz up the middle on slide protection. Commentator weirdly blamed it on Conner but Blue just had to stay where he was to pick up the blitzer but he slid to the right. I think he didn’t know half slide right was called. Second sack was a bit the pocket collapsing and a bit Quinn not getting it out quick. I’ll score that mostly to the OL. 3rd blitz was an rpo that Quinn pulled to throw but should’ve handed off. Can’t really blame the OL giving up a sack when they’re run blocking Niblack with an obvious hold on 3rd and 1. Stupid and unnecessary Next play Williams gets badly whipped on a spin move to give up a sack. Williams played very poorly overall. Terrible call holding call against Helm where he basically pancaked his man. Another one where I have no idea what the ref was seeing Overall the pass pro wasn’t abysmal but it wasn’t great. Mostly it was an offense wide problem of miscommunication, skill players not doing holding up their end of the bargain, some questionable choices by Quinn and some baffling calls by the refs. Didn’t pay attention as much to the run game on this skim, but once they started squeezing down well on our power and pin and pull we lost effectiveness in the 4th and our inside zone continues to be mostly ineffective especially running behind Conner.
  19. So you think arch is one of the worst qbs in the power 5?
  20. And ewers is a figured out known commodity. You seem to really be going to bat for the guy, for some reason. Not sure why you think he deserves the benefit of the doubt.
  21. Not having rewatched but of the four sacks, one was on Blue not picking up the blitz and two were on RPOs where the ball has to come out quick but Quinn didn’t get rid of it
  22. I don’t understand the thought that we have to ride with Quinn because Arch will make mistakes. Quinn makes a lot of mistakes and doesn’t make up for it with play making ability. Would you rather have the guy with the high delta or the guy you know is going to be a liability if everything isn’t going perfectly?
