  1. Really? Like you go to games in Manhattan, Stoolwater, and Ames on a frequent basis... Give me LA, Tucson, Tempe, Palo Alto, Seattle, etc. and I’m making a road game or two a year
  2. We fit in like a glove with the Pac-12, actually.
  3. I propose we don’t fix the issue. Let this conference eat itself to death, and then we escape pod to a real conference with plenty of PR ammo in hand (in 2024?). This conference is a god damn joke and UT does not fit in whatsoever, culturally and athletically. I think UH would be a better fit for the Big 12 than UT.
  4. It was a few years ago... https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/1901_Texas_Longhorns_football_team
  5. You ain't kidding, I was sitting among them in club level for last year's game...they were friendly to us (nobody else wearing burnt Orange within spitting distance) in a very condescending way until we started stopping them on offense and made a close game of it, then the real froggy came out. Of course the condescending kindness returned when the game was decided.. Listen to Bill Burr’s Rose Bowl experience about TCU vs. Wisconsin. He sums up the TCU fan base pretty well
  6. I’m a mere plebe to the scotch game (as my budget dictates), but I think scotch is my spirit of choice. Currently I’m drinking Glenmorangie 10. Any suggestions on scotch that is around this price point? I want to learn more and be knowledgeable when it comes to scotch. Also I’m a big fan of Irish whisky and have been mostly exposed to the dew, Jameson, and bushmills. Any suggestions on that front as well?
  7. Gonna second this. You would’ve thought they had 6,7 Big 12 Championships on account of their smug ass demeanor towards UT fans. It will be good once we get this program running at full speed and mowing those pompous assholes down year after year. Those blowouts will never be erased from my memory.
  8. You can get a grape four loko and a grape 5-hour and reproduce something to a similar effect
  9. I think you hit the nail on the head. Completing x amount of hours at Texas A&M in order to get a class ring means more than your degree and/or professional accomplishments (major, resume, awards, etc.). Such a forward-thinking way of determining individual success!
  10. It's funny to think that once upon a time Cal and Stanford were the powerhouse programs for the state of California. Over time, USC kinda exploded and Cal and Stanford went to the wayside. Today, Stanford has enjoyed a wonderful little renaissance under Harbaugh/Shaw and can certainly stick around. Cal, on the other hand, seems to wither in a disarray. Which is sad considering they have produced incredible NFL talent, have a badass stadium, and are located in a bustling metropolitan area. But like mentioned earlier in the thread, if the admin. doesn't want them to succeed, then there's only so much a coach can do with limited resources when going up against Washington, Stanford, UCLA, USC, ASU, UofA, etc. All programs with tons of backing and a burning desire to be competitive in the business of big-time college football.
  11. Our athletic program welcomes actual members of the military for football home games as well. https://texassports.com/news/2018/7/3/texas-athletics-announces-seats-for-service-members.aspx
  12. You're not wrong. Their stadium is surrounded by US flags, they have an army of brown shirt-clad pasty skin heads, and their band moves about like a 1939 Berlin military parade.
  13. Why are aggy's so god damn infatuated with this university loyalty dick measuring contest? Who gives a fuck? In an era of big time college football, trivial things like graduating from a particular school in order to root for them is idiotic. Would you give somebody shit who is a UT fan but graduated from Princeton University? There are so many god damn Aggies (and a hell of a lot more on the way according to enrollment #'s) that graduating from the school really isn't anything special. Kinda the same for UT. Of course, it's awesome to graduate from UT, but you're still one of a shit ton of other people out there in the world with that diploma. Just my opinion...
  14. '10. Hands-fucking-down. '15 and '16 can be attributed to the program being dysfunctional. I think the players worked their asses off, coaches did what they could, but the whole thing just couldn't come together. '10 can be attributed to laziness from staff and players alike. The team overall looked like they could put on a Texas jersey and trot out there like they were the '85 Bears. Dudes got a harsh dose of reality. Hell, even the fan base was so brash and arrogant after '04-'09 that it extrapolated the amount of figurative ammo our enemies had against us.
  15. Dude needs to cut his hair and STFU. If he had some 1st, 2nd rounder NFL potential-then fine-act like a Clay Matthews clone and do your thing. But it's become cringe-worthy on account of how many times he's flown into the backfield, maybe got a loose grip of a jersey, and the ball carrier goes on his way unless there's somebody (Charles) to clean things up? Act like a mad man after making the big play, but you can't call yourself the "Prophet" when you're not a national statistical leader in any category.
  16. I'm not worried at all about ISU on account of it being a night game at home. We win this week, win in Lubbock, and barring significant injury, we should be able to take care of business against the cyclones. Our team has so much god damn potential, as evidenced by the end of the OSU game, but we have some lingering derpiness from the Strong era that should be removed by the end of this year. Kansas could be a weird trap game, kinda like Miami vs. Pitt last year, where the team is playing under weird weather conditions in a morning game. Could be a 14-17 kinda game (which I hope isn't the case, obviously)
  17. That's pretty damn bush league. I read that tweet and thought for a second he was like a redshirt freshman (like Colt) on the '05 team, but he was a FRESHMAN in '08. Jesus Christ. I mean, that dude was on arguably the shittiest UT football of all-time (2010) when you put into perspective they just came off a National Championship run. Pretty fucking disgraceful. Especially if you watch the games and watch as guys pretty much just quit and lose motivation during games. I guess he is UT football's version of Alexi Lalas
  18. We want Bama!...I mean, we want OU!
  19. Pump the brakes on these kind of threads. You got thoughts or opinions on the game, put it in the game thread, and it will be potentially addressed. Otherwise, it looks like some TexAgs thread where aggys are rationalizing the prospect of a 2-loss national championship season.
  20. The opportunity to deny the cOcksUckers a CFP berth on December 1st brings warmth to my heart. Strap on a helmet, mow the rest of these Big 12 assclowns over, and let's bring hell with us to Arlington. We're going to war.
  21. Of course, West Virginia gets to play away at a conference leader during the afternoon slot. We better get an afternoon kickoff in Lubbock; otherwise we'll get another nice dose of home-fucking-cooking.
  22. Cool with me. I’d be content with WVU winning over fucking OU. Those motherfuckers have like 11 conference championships. Also, fuck this conference and I don’t give a single iota of a shit if we don’t have a Big 12 team in the playoff.
