  1. After everything we've been through and stats/ numbers have been all over the place, why don't these people believe our agenda driven math? They have their own agenda. How dare they!!!
  2. I know you are being 100% sincere/ serious. Still funny though...
  3. I'm not against legitimate numbers. When do we get to see them? I did look at the graph/chart. No I am not reading the whole conversation. Fuck that to hell. Not my problem I took it at face value. It is clearly labeled as ' hospitalizations.' The fact that people don't take the crazy fucked up math that has been part of this whole thing is beyond your understanding, no? Why don't people just believe us? LO-FUCKING-L
  4. I get your point, but we already have laws in place for DUI and so-forth. If we have an employee show up drunk( legal, right?) I am taking them for breathalyzer and their employment will be terminated. Same goes for pot or scripts. Those laws/ policies should not change, IMO.
  5. but if the beer store was open at 7AM, I'd show up to church drunk... wait, that's not really a factor, either... When I tell family and friends I am "pro-legalization" for mj, it draws some peculiar looks and comments. I'm a lot more about "Make em legal, and when someone fucks up while under the influence, hammer their ass." I disagree with chasing simple possession and folks who do a bit of pot on the weekend. Of all of our society's issues, that's like chasing mice while getting trampled by the elephants.
  6. Yeah, there were 2 different marches/ demonstrations in Amarillo Saturday. I did not attend as I was unaware of the events; but saw several people walking downtown to the police HQ with signs and stuff in what I could only assume were many family units. People had on their Sunday best, as it were. Later on, I stopped to get gas at a store on the north side, less than a mile from the other gathering. I saw more folks who were leaving, dressed up in nice clothes and had what appeared to be 3 generations of their family together for it. This is important and certain folks need to stop dismissing it as a fad or whatever. I was born in 1970. I've never witnessed anything like this across the country in my lifetime. I am excited for the changes that are possible. I hope the extremists on either end of the spectrum don't blow the opportunity to make a correction on something that is very broken.
  7. Hmmm...all of these people that delayed elective surgeries finally got the green light. "Look here, Marge, hospitalizations are up since they said hospitals could do their jobs again..." Nowhere on that graph or post does it say the hospitalizations are limited to Cv-19 only.
  8. There is no shelf life for justice...and liberty. I hope not, anyway... This is too fundamentally important to think it will just "go away." We must get it right.
  9. It's just looting. He had life insurance...
  10. One could say the very same of our citizens. There should not even be a need for police. Yet there is... People think there is no responsibility required of citizenship. I just get to do what the fuck I want, when I want, how I want, and to whom I want. I get it that we are "fixing the police," and that it is a starting place for the authority behind their badges to be legit. I'm in 100% on this front. I just roll my eyes at how all of the other behavior is so cavalierly glossed over, as if, in the absence of police, all of the criminals would just straighten the fuck up and act with high moral character. We as a society and also individuals own what happens also.
  11. or the way people discuss it... and to your point, a strong faction of folks who believes only one side has fallen prey to corruption and perversion of all of it.
  12. Lolz. I do NOT disagree. That has a ZERO % chance of ever getting passed by the unions.
  13. Tucker 27... right down the middle.
  14. LOLz. Regardless of position in this discussion, that right there is fucking funny.
  15. Went to Piccadilly in WF at Sikes Senter many times growing up. That mall also had the old fashioned Walgreens coffee shoppe with the ice cream/ soda fountain. Holy furk, I'm not even 50 and that seems like forever ago...
  16. If some of those guys quit football, there is zero chance they are continuing school. Not all of them, but a significant portion, for sure. Education and employment are the two vehicles by which social mobility is achieved in the big picture of things. I don't understand the looting( jobs in your own community) in this way, and I damned sure don't get giving up on football( education.)
  17. I posted in CR on Shag and Surly for 12 years. Traded paint with most anyone willing to have a discussion. No worries. I respect many of the posters with whom I have frequent disagreements on policy. About 2 years ago the 'community' changed. I toughed it out for a year and finally said, "Fuck it." The people in denial of the existence of cancel culture just see what they want to see. I'm done trying to convince them how fucked up it is. In the end, with regard to posting in forums, IDGAF about what you think you're entitled to, keep the politics in CR*. *aside from the last 7-10 days exploding in our country and BL/ Imma allowing a wide berth for everyone in hopes of allowing for venting and candid discussion.
  18. because it's an unnecessary intrusion into my privacy, while ignoring a standing "request" not to do so. When the kids were little, it either happened at nap time or right when we sat down for dinner. When the kids got older and it didn't make a fuck, it still stirs up my dogs, again for no other reason than some meathead thinking they are entitled to talk with me in my own fucking house. The concept of leaving people alone in their own home isn't some grand, complicated concept of liberty, is it?
  19. growing up in the country, we had a gun by the door 24/7. It ( or they) was always available should somebody be up to no good... but mostly it was if varmints were fucking with the dogs. Yes we even got salesmen 5 miles from a town of 440 people. I hated them then too.
  20. Not twice though. See, i see it the same way though. The idiot ones are going to knock regardless. I point at the sign and tell them to fuck off. They start their schpiel and I tell them nicely to leave. If they ignore it, good ole pissed off Marine comes out and chews their ass for ignoring the warning for the second time now.
