  1. agreed. i love college sports but absolutely hate the NCAA.
  2. This is a flat out fucking lie and exactly what does NOT belong in here.
  3. Just my experience, I've requested 2 bench trials( visited with judge and had one deferred and another dismissed) and went with one of my sons who caused a wreck when he was still a minor to traffic court and the judge gave him community service. There were lawyers in there on all 3 occasions representing their clients and asking the judges the same damned questions and getting the same offers. No way would I dish out $1k for representation in such relatively minor offenses, that may still incur fines as part of their resolution.
  4. 1) People suck at math. 2) they may be comping their competition on the smaller sizes, i.e. their normal price on the quart of half&half or pint of cream should be about $1.62, but 3 stores in the area are selling it for $1. HEB does that shit all the time and the consumer wins.
  5. It's one thread and you know what the fuck the discussion is. It's relevant and timely. Let it play out and let folks have their say. There is virtually ZERO substantive talk around football and what there is doesn't involve the Saints or Brees. You didn't get surprised by anything, did ya?
  6. if it's a she, then you too are guilty of a violation...
  7. What were you in for, Dufresne?

Gung ho Unfortunate LOLz spell check in a good post.
  9. stolen valor, of the the wokest kind??? I know that is a military term, but these fuckers who run their organizations out of the Michael Scott playbook NEED to get called on it. Be better. Way the fuck better.

I would suppose it's like any other workgroup, with a wide variety of beliefs and values where the work still gets done. The fact the Brees has a huge amount of credit in the bank as not only a leader but the face of a franchise also matters. His teammates already mentioned they had discussions with Brees, so it would appear they are not of the "Drew Brees is dead to me" mindset.

You are right. The flag isn't sacred. The military damned sure isn't sacred. What it ( is supposed to) represents is very unique with regard to governmental entities within the realm of the history of world governments. Right now we have a chance to make a correction on what that value or meaning is to every American. The existence of that opportunity matters. You'll never convince me otherwise.

I deeply and sincerely want the flag to mean liberty for every American. Right now, it does not. Fill in the blanks however you like.

It's not about the flag/ anthem, Mr Rodgers? Kap says it was: "I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color," Kaepernick told NFL Media in an exclusive interview after the game. "To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder." Rodgers is still a fucking moron. and yes, I wish like Kaepernick had focused on the the latter part of that quote. That doesn't mean Brees is right either. The flag has never represented perfection. The ability to correct this shit is exactly what it stands for. Will we? Can we? together...
  14. South Austin’s mom’ Yankee cousin?
  15. electrical work...without zapping my ass or burning shit up. I'm lucky I still have all of my fingers. LOL.
  16. I'm on the record multiple times as being one who doesn't have a problem with Hugo. I still feel that way. Of my points of contention with CR, he ain't one of em. That being said, maybe he could work to change the perception of his posting style. I stand by why the "Fix the Police" thread worked. It wasn't name calling or shitting on the other team. It is a genuine discussion about solving for a real problem. The politics behind the issue affects all of us and is hardly limited to a certain party or area of the country.
  17. It isn’t about you. The non-partisan qualities are what drives it as a constructive discussion. Not sure why that bothers you.
  18. It’s amazing when no looting and mayhem occurs... Chicken or egg, but keep on pointing the finger... the cops ain’t planting the incel soy boys who keep fucking shit up.
  19. Never have been on that board. Hell the 24/7 one is beating enough...
  20. I am admittedly an overzealous American flag waver. I have never had one of the blue line flags or derivative stickers. If the Shag/ Surly has changed my mind/ influenced my thoughts on any subject, it has been police brutality/ inequality with regard to 'justice.' Your art packs a very profound 'punch to the gut' but it also honors George Floyd. I wasn't expecting anything remotely like that when I clicked on the thread. It was one of those "get ready for a good lau...ohh shit, that's heavy" moments. One question: may we share it on social media? I will not if you do not want it out there.
  21. 1PM yesterday, order flowers online for a friend's mom's funeral. Brownfield, Texas 10PM last night, order processed/ built in Arlington, Texas and loaded on UPS 5AM this morning arrives at Lubbock, loaded on delivery vehicle. What in the actual fuck? Doing it that way is more cost effective than contracting with the florist down the street from the funeral home? I mean, i got a very competitive price because of a corp discount. I don't see how they make any money/ realistic profit on that...
