I like him too. Unfortunately he has one of the worst partners in the business.

I've been gone from Houston for 13 months. I miss the heat, humidity, and hurricane prep more than the fucking sports programming on the radio. What a fucking beating. Every station. Something so simple seems impossible for those motherfuckers.

Changes to the Politics (Cloak Room) coming soon
Iceman replied to immamac's topic in Please do this better?
Immamac, i hate to tell you this, but indications are... the offseason might NEVER be over. -
I know, but he's better than anyone Helobious roots for, and that was the point. Baseball's different. It's an individual sport in a team setting, if you will.
-
He's the best player in the game today and will be for the era. Substitute Jose Altuve, if you must. Much beloved Yankee killer.

Hard to believe it could be better. couldn't they remake Backdraft or some shit?

Dirty POS James Harrison blows the whistle on Tomlin's rulebreaking?
Iceman replied to clapclapclap's topic in Football
I don't fucking care... and any money changing hands doesn't change that Harrison was a Grade AA Piece of Shit when it came to dirty plays. -
Marine Corps Basic Training 1989... barely qualify as Marksman( lowest level) at the rifle range after a lifetime of shooting/ basically growing up with guns in my hands. Was completely pissed and requested to go see eye doc. Receive a brand new pair of birth control glasses. Got to re-qual with the pieces of shit who couldn't hit a barn... qualified Expert then and every time after that too. Senior Drill instructor gave me hell for being in denial of not being able to see shit. Lesson learned- when your shit is fucked up, go to the respective doctor and get it corrected.

9 MVPs in his sport, a sport with more players... Rings matter, but so does recognition as the best. My bigger point on Gretzky is the Lady Byng Trophies and the fact that he was recognized for his sportsmanship, repeatedly; along with being the best ever in his sport.

He's not wrong.

Dallas Cowboys 2020 Offseason Thread -- 25th Anniversary of Mediocrity
Iceman replied to Patrick Bateman's topic in Football
It's absolutely relevant when people like yourself deem Dak worthy of elite QB pay. It isn't stupid to say he is not the playmaker other QBs are in the league, because despite your abject denial, he is not. nor should the Cowboys pay him at that level. Miraculously, they offered him a generous contract. he declined, which is his perogative... But in no fucking realm or dimension has he demonstrated ability at thefucking level of compensation he is seeking. Again, more power to him, but at a certain point he can't sit there and eat his cake...while recognizing what his real place is in the league's pecking order at the position* * wild card is Jerry Jones just paying his ass, because Jerry is always ripe for an idiotic contract. On that front, I can't say i blame Dak. Full honesty- you truly think Dak is in the level of those top 4-5 QBs and their ability to change games/ affect defenses? If so, when does that ability start to be displayed on the field? -

Iceman replied to immamac's topic in Please do this better?
You might have a point if I didn't post anywhere else on the board or was starting shit politically in other threads, but holy shit, Batman; that ain't the case, now is it? It was a personal choice for me. No harm no foul. It's absolutely fucking amazing how there's a handful of people who insist, "No, you shouldn't be allowed to avoid CR..." I post in the football, basketball, and baseball boards no problem. TV and music boards occasionally. Quite a bit in the food/ beer board. Active in Fantasy Football threads in gambool. No problems. Whatever. The color yellow prolly makes you sad too... crybaby. -
Which has more banners in aggyland 'Cruitin Titles or Halftimes?

so scary. I'm not a badass. I just show up. the point is that there are plenty of folks dealing with the real world just fine... But yeah, playing baseball in a stadium seems so daunting.

Tyler's in Amarillo. Again, not a shot at them. They communicated it openly to the customers that their price went up 3X on their supply.
-
anyone else's BBQ source raising prices? Well, I guess mine did not raise prices, but I have gone every week for the past 9 weeks and ordered 1/2 a pound of brisket, sliced. $14.02 Today i go and order and they say they are no longer selling by the pound/ half pound but only in meals( like a 2 meat plate) and sammiches. Said their cost went up 300% on brisket. I am not bemoaning the policy or bitching one iota. Just describing it and asking if anyone else has seen it.

Messier has 6 rings. Gretzky only 4. One of em is the GOAT in hockey by a huge ass margin...

In punter a position of need? -
To add in to the counter point to a GOAT having to be an asshole, Gretzky won the Lady Byng Trophy( for sportsmanship, and it is a big deal in the NHL) in 1980, 91, 92, 94, and 99
-
Gretzky is even less debatable than Jordan as to his position as GOAT in his sport. Google alltime hockey stats... 4 Stanley Cups and the Conn Smythe in all 4 of them. He won the Hart Trophy(MVP) from 1980 to 87 and again in 89. Broken Records[edit] Gretzky’s record of 15 regular season overtime assists has now been passed by three players. They are Nicklas Lidstrom (16), Adam Oates (17), and Mark Messier (18). Joe Sakic (16), Mark Messier (14), and Ray Bourque (13) have passed Gretzky’s record (12) for most All-Star game assists. New Records[edit] Wayne Gretzky finished his career with a 1.921 points per game average. Mario Lemieux originally held the record when Gretzky retired with 2.005 points per game, but after Lemieux came back to the NHL from 2000 to 2005, his points per game average fell to 1.883, falling to second behind Gretzky. Unofficial records[edit] Along with his numerous official records, Wayne Gretzky also has many "unofficial" records. These other records - though not recognized by the NHL Official Guide and Record Book - are still significant records. NHL scoring records[edit] Youngest player to score 50 goals in a season (19 years, two months) Most points by an NHL player in his first year: 137. Because of Gretzky's season played in the WHA, he was not considered a rookie in his first year, so the rookie record belongs to Teemu Selanne with 132 Most assists by an NHL player in his first year: 86. The rookie record is held jointly by Peter Stastny and Joe Juneau with 70 assists. Note that the record book gives Gretzky the record for most assists and points in a game as a first year player, but not the season totals Most 200-or-more point seasons: 4. Gretzky owns the official record for most 100 point seasons. He is the only player to reach 200 points in a season Most consecutive 200 point seasons: 3 Most 70-or-more goal seasons: 4. The NHL has a record for most 60 goal seasons, but not 70. Eight players have achieved 70 goals, and Brett Hull did so three times. Gretzky is the only player to achieve this Fastest 50 goals from start of season: 50 goals in 39 games. The mark of 50 goals in 50 games is a rare event, achieved by only five players. The quickest, 50 goals in 39 games, is often labelled as the most difficult one to break of all of Gretzky's records. The NHL has an official record for the most goals in first 50 games, but not the fastest 50 goals Fastest 100 points: 34 games in 1983–84 Most seasons averaging at least 1 point per game: 19 Most consecutive seasons averaging at least 1 point per game: 19 Most seasons averaging at least 2 points per game: 10 Most consecutive seasons averaging at least 2 points per game: 9 Most game-winning goals in the playoffs: 24 (tied with Brett Hull) Most game-winning assists in one season: 23 Most game-winning assists in regular season career: 234 Most game-winning points in regular season career: 325 Highest career game-winning points per game average: 0.2185 Most 100-or-more assist seasons: 11 Most consecutive 100-or-more assist seasons: 11 Most seasons leading in even strength goals: 4 Most career even strength goals: 617 Most seasons leading in short-handed goals: 5 Most seasons leading in assists: 16 Most seasons leading in points: 11 Most seasons leading in both goals and assists: 5 (this was only achieved 7 other times in history, with Gordie Howe (2) and Mario Lemieux (2) accounting for 4 of those other occurrences). What dystopian book/movie does 2020 most represent?
Iceman replied to Parliament's topic in Daily Texan
The Breakfast Club and we never get to go home again. -
Gretzky Trout Neither one of them had the 'asshole' tag on their clubhouse personna. the Astros are still Altuve's team and he clowns with the best of em; although Lance McCullers found out not to fuck around the wrong way and show up a teammate.

compromise is so 19th century...

I prefer the Stars' current unis to the old ones. It's not love of tradition or whatever the accusation seems to be. I'm fine with the newer Double T, although i prefer the old one. It's just that some of the color combos and logos are truly fucked up and it's as if the decision makers just say, "Fuck it, we're rolling..."

Yep, just like a lot of folks right now are having to do funerals. Do the physical nuts and bolts of the wedding/ funeral now. Schedule a memorial/ wedding reception when restrictions open up.
