Went to parade this morning in Canyon, TX with grandkids. Lots of fire/ police/ recue vehicles. Horses & farm/ ranch stuff was expectedly prevalent. Multiple groups of veterans/ VFW/ and other associated entities marched by. Construction vehicles were awesome and thoroughly enjoyed by my 3 YO grandson.
Towards the beginning of the procession, this jeep goes by with White Panthers on the hood and doors. I thought it said "We the People on the front fenders. NOPE. It straight up said "White People." I was like, " What in the everloving fuck is that doing here?" Trump flag on the back sealed the deal. People were clapping as the veterans had marched on by. They booed the jeep.
I celebrate the freedom that exists to allow that expression to be made. I felt like it had no place in that environment, as did others. I was grateful that my grandson was too young to ask WTH White Panthers were.
It was still weird AF. Those fuckers are out of their minds.
