  1. I guess my question was answered. Did we even try to drive on cc?
  2. This is a pretty good test for a coach. Will he realize we need to go right at CC, get his 4th, and effectively end the game or not?
  3. Does Greg even start in the D league or whatever it’s called?
  4. Can we sit Greg the whole game or not? Is Shaka afraid of someone’s reaction?
  5. That reminds me of the incident. Correct me if wrong, but when he left the bench, if refs had given him a technical, we would have shot free throws and gained possession. We would have easily won the game. Instead, Arky came back and sent the game into overtime, and some pig players ran into the locker room to bring him back to the bench. Did the refs have a good reason to not T him up? I wonder if there is an anti-strollin rule now?
  6. You say that now, but memories are short. What if we’re in the elite eight game and we copy what we did in Penders best year, come within one basket of tying the game in the final minutes? And ive forgotten, did that Arky team that held on for dear life against us win the whole thing or not? Pretend our e eight loss is to the team that wins it all. Talk about uncomfortable. Balls of steel required to say no extension at that time. Could happen.
  7. Then I say we lose by 20!
  8. Ha! And you guys were skeptical of me forecasting this very thing. However, I presented the situation in a way that Shakas agent would expect an extension only if Shaka made it to the second weekend. This FCB sentence doesn’t even mention a strong tourney run. He might actually expect an extension even if he only wins one NCAA game! This is coming together very nicely. To me, the key is making it to weekend #2, so the agent can have the entire week to publicize Shakas greatness to potential suitors. And when we win game #3, the line of suitors will form from the left. And every one of those dudes is going to see a young, vibrant exciting coach. Every one of those dudes will offer at least a 5 year deal. The heat will be on CDC. We will finally get to see what he is made of. It IS happening.
  9. Look at that box Score! Ramey and Greg combined 1 for 6, 7 turnovers, 1 assist. If you tell me that before the game I say we lose by 10, easily.
  10. Threes are wild. We win 3 games in conference tourney, we get disrespected with a 3 seed, and we get revenge by winning 3 ncaa games and then game 4 is a coin flip. Keeping the three theme, we make a huge % of threes for the next five games. It most likely all comes crashing down in game 4 of ncaa.
  11. One and Only burger in McKinney. I was among the first customers several years ago. Awesome. Their hook is unlimited toppings and fresh fries.
  12. Got lucky. Colleague at school had a friend who lived in anchorage at Christmas. Steaks were on sale at Fred meyer(think Kroger’s). One item on sale was beef tenderloin, The whole thing, for $10.99 per pound. Choice. Bought it, sight unseen. I had always wanted to butcher one of those. Watched YouTube, pretty easy, took me about 20 minutes to butcher. It was a little over 7 pounds total. After butchering, I got 8 beautiful filet mignons, wrapped them in bacon, toothpick. They were so tasty, I will never buy precut filet mignons again. Weighed between 6 and 9 ounces. On the flip side, because tenderloin is lean, the remainder that I ground up was just average. I think next time I will throw some fat in there. I still prefer ny strip or ribeye, but if I’m eating filet, I want to cut it.
  13. It would truly be Shakaesque if we won the conf. Tourney, and turned right around and lost the first round game to a double digit no name team from New jersey. I give it a greater than 10 % chance of happening. Seriously.
  14. As someone who has been pessimistic all of this calendar year, which is kind of when I started paying attention, this thing could easily go to the sweet sixteen and beyond. The pure talent is taking over. If G. Brown focuses and makes those dunks, chances are we beat TCU by 20, which is more than we won by last time. The talent is overtaking the coaching. The only thing in our way to a conf. tournament win is Beard. If somehow Tech has an off night and we beat Tech, I am super confident we win the conf. tournament, because Baylor will have checked out by then. Their seed will be solid. This team goes 3-0 in conference tourney, and then 2-0 and then it comes down to luck for the remainder of the big boy tournament. Wouldn't surprise me a bit to see a 6-1 postseason run. It is probably more likely we lose to Tech, win 2 and then lose, but picture this: We win the conference tourney, we're most likely a 2 seed. What round do we face a really good team? I say game number 3.
  15. Looking good now!
  16. I guess were not shooting any free throws this half.
  17. So we are basically finishing one game ahead of 7th place, assuming a victory over TCU? But we could easily say we would have swept ou if it weren’t for COVID. So, Shaka can claim we were a top 4 team in conference. I just thought of another way for Shaka to ensure there is at least a discussion about a possible extension, win at least 2 games in conference tourney by 10 points or more, and then win one NCAA game. Win 2 ncaa games and pressure builds...win 3 ncaa games and there will be serious heat. Win 4 ncaa games and there is either an extension or my crystal ball forecasts Shaka goes somewhere else. Whatever happens, this is gonna be good.
  18. I suggested this idea earlier, also as a bargaining point in negotiations with cdc. If we go to weekend number 2 someone is going to want this man, and they will have a five year deal in hand. This could be both sides saving grace. Save a lot of angst on both sides, let him go to someone stupid, just like we were stupid six years ago. I feel it happening.
  19. Yes. I remember 100% Gundy without a question even being asked volunteered opinion that the punter nearly beat them by himself.
  20. I give it top 10 in the decade, quite easily. After all of the Vince and Colt performances, I put it next in line for performance of the century. It would probably be in the top ten of the 90s, had it occurred then. That bowl game always reminds me how a punter really can control a football game.
  21. Don’t forget his dad, Jim Jeffcoat, or as John Madden used to say “when he came into the league they didn’t know whether he was Jim jeffcoat or Jeff jimcoat.”
  22. My feeling says we beat both Iowa st. & tcu, finishing 2 and 1 to land at 10 & 7. That puts us in 7th place, losing tie breakers to OU and tech. Win one, lose one conf. Tourney, we become one of the weakest 5 seeds ever, or a mediocre at best 6 seed. How we win 2 ncaa games in a row is a mystery, but I feel it happening.
  23. Look at my scenario. This only happens if we make it to the 2nd weekend. People have short memories. Nobody’s gonna remember mismanaged games etc. The agent will most likely compare contracts, and show how many years Shakas sweet 16 peers have left on their contracts, and talk about how recruiting is tougher when players don’t know for sure coach will last 4 years, etc. cdc will listen. To me this compares favorably to the Georgia football win. Cdc will learn from past mistake or not.
  24. If kenpom has us at 25, how do we get higher than a 6 seed? I think we finish 5 and 5 last 10. The remaining question for me is what place do we land in the conference? Sixth or lower and Shakas agent will have a tough time getting that all important extension. Let’s say team comes together, gets lucky with matchups and goes to sweet sixteen. There Shaka gets exposed, but we lose by less than 10. This scenario has us finishing 6 in conference. Now, you’re cdc in negotiations with Shaka agent. Agent wants 2 year extension, makes his case, seems serious, has lots of facts, a solid presentation. Pretend baseball coach is having a tough season. It’s May or June. What do u do? Do u have the balls to say no thanks, no extension. No extension next year unless team finishes 3rd or better in conference, or something like that? Remember, cdc did not come across as a genius the way the Sark hiring went down. The last thing cdc wants in 2021 is another coaching search in the big 3 sports. I think there is greater than 30% chance cdc caves, and agrees to a one year extension. So yet again Shaka is saved by something that has absolutely nothing to do with his coaching ability. The uncertainty of the new football coach and the fragility of the baseball situation impact Shaka to a degree possibly unheard of before.
