  1. so coaches keep taking themselves out. Mullen - excuse making machine, Fickell- no clock management skills. Next to go down is Kelly. After Kelly goes down, it will literally be Herm or Urban. How depressing/easy will that be? This will become the biggest layup in sports decision-making history. If I'm CDC and Urbs says no a third time, to a crazy amount of money, I think I fire Herm and appoint an interim coach. Someone will have to emerge. I still think Urbs says yes. He still has ties to OhioSt. and simply doesn't want to rock their boat while they are still in the playoffs.
  2. at least you have to give cincy credit for trying to win the game now.
  3. ha! If they hadn't already faked maybe.
  4. stay in bounds use all timeouts, punt, leave Georgia with 30 seconds left.
  5. so, Georgia called a time out to decide to punt, wasting a to. Now all Cincy needs is one first down, it seems.
  6. ok, but what is Sam shooting for? To be the next ex-BYU running QB who ran over us all night, Taysom? I mean Colt made a great living being an NFL backup, but he had a much, much higher ceiling. Colt was offensive player of the year in college football. Sam was 3rd or 4th round before the injury. Now? not so much, imo.
  7. seriously who is coaching the Auburn team?
  8. Washington State -all years with two losses or less: 1930 - 9-1 1997 - 10-2 2001 - 10-2 2018 - 11-2 Those stats put Leach among the top 3 coaches of all time at Washington State, imo.
  9. Nope, still have Hawaii to go, about 58 more minutes.
  10. Finally, 2021 is here, the year of the Meyer. (just turned 12:01 in Alaska) Now the entire country is in 2021, I think.
  11. re: Leach a good coach or not. Let history be the deciding factor. Let's chart the next time Washington State goes 11-2. I venture a guess that it will be sometime north of 10 years from 2018 before that happens again. If so, then yeah, in 2020 Leach would be considered to be a good coach, imo. Taking Washington State to 11-2 in 2018, I consider that to be a GREAT coaching job. Now, Leach is one coach who definitely is aware of his surroundings. Sure he knocked the brawl off his shoulder, just like Robert Conrad would a battery. Why? Because he lives in the SEC, where...remember in the immortal words of Charles Barkley, "if you ain't cheatin, you ain't tryin". He just won a bowl game, he doesn't care about how something may have looked, and he and his AD can always come out later and announce disciplinary actions for player or players to be delivered sometime in the future. Nobody in Mississippi will remember the negativity of the brawl. They will only remember Leach took a losing team into the bowl game and beat a ranked, winning team.
  12. ..and of course Jerry Gray was truly a War Eagle killer, with that best ever int. in 1983 and breaking Bo Jackson the next year, only after running probably at least 40 yards to catch the man who would end up with one of the fastest 40 times in the history of the combine. Maybe someday we recruit and develop DBs similar to Jerry. Probably not. I would settle for half of a Jerry Gray.
  13. Is there an injury update?
  14. personally I would vote for the 1983 defense, #1 in the country, and the funny stat was the D outscored the Texas offense after three quarters against TCU, with two int. run back for TDs. That was the year Jerry Gray had the best interception in college ever, against Auburn, one handed flying backwards through the air. This int. the other night is now #3 in Texas history, imo, only behind Jerry's and the int. in the 2006 Rose Bowl.. help me out, was it Griffin? The int. up against the boundary. May have been the only int. we had that night.
  15. The other time I specifically remember his unique contribution was an interview Mike Gundy gave ABC after OSU came to Austin and beat us. Without a question, he blurted out, "Their punter nearly won the game for them". I've seen all of the great Texas punters going all of the way back to Russell Exrleben, John Teltschik, etc. but there is only one punter I have seen who has effectively controlled the game against a superior opponent, and that is Dickson. It's hard to believe a punter could have such an incredible impact.
  16. Hard to believe we're down to Iowa State winning to make the B12 unbeaten.
  17. Game over, great effort Army, showed discipline and also unfortunately lost to a team that really adjusted very well. I guess a side benefit, Go Big 12? Undefeated!
  18. I told him to not settle for FG...OUch!
  19. looking good Army! Don't settle for FG!
  20. told ya they'd put in the passing QB!
  21. I think Army puts in the passing QB.
  22. I think Army just set some kind of record. Almost four minutes of possession, 10 yards.
  23. so he will finish with at least 32 inside the 20, which is 2 per game! I remember when he nearly won the Alamo Bowl, with around 6 punts inside the 10!
  24. am super impressed with Brown. Change QBs at half, even without apparent injury? onside kick? swinging gate, very few penalties. Adjustments made at halftime. Army should win, but not for lack of coaching by WV.
