  1. Had a luby dream...went for a last meal..wanted a ribeye steak and fried shrimp. Lubys wouldn’t put a crust on steak, so I went in kitchen and cooked 70 seconds on each side....perfect crust...thanks Guga ....and saw a piece of fried fish sitting there had just finished cooking. Took it as well. Three sauces, cocktail, tarter, and steak. Grabbed a stuffed baked potato to go with it, and some no name salad. Strawberry shortcake for dessert. Sweet tea. Plenty of lemon juice for tea, fish and shrimp. am reminded of the wolf commercial. How long has it been since you had a hot steaming bowl of Wolf brand chili? Well neighbor, that’s too long.
  2. Jbj, about how long do you think the proceeding took? Could you get a sense if ES already had his mind made up or not? about how long do you think it should take for a ruling? Before Nov. 3, I think? Is there a way for ES to win? By win, I mean make a decision that will stick.
  3. I just missed by a few years seeing Alcindor and Walton in college. In late 70s in pros, Walton was the guy who made everyone around him better, but there were few opportunities to see him play, other than playoffs. His passing gift was kind of like an appetizer, and the main course of great passing would come just a few years later, in the form of the best passer ever, magic johnson.
  4. More local, really enjoyed watching rob Williams play on Saturday game of the week, probably on raycom. Super smooth. Nationally, the last Al McGuire coached team was incredibly disciplined. And of course, the magic of the Texas team, 14 wins in a row to open season, #4 in the country. The true star of the Texas team was Abe. Kept everyone loose. How many games do they win without the injury? I would imagine they might have lost in the final 4, but seriously not before then. The teamwork was that good.
  5. Tom is doing pretty good in coaching. From reading about the game and watching extended highlights I only saw three big areas of execution needed for improvement. Blocking, tackling, catching punts and onside kicks. When we finally get rid of Tom, I say get someone who can coach these areas. When Tom is out of coaching, he can be a tv analyst and marvel at our ability to block, tackle, and catch punts and kicks.
  6. Not watching, but it is painfully obvious Tom the turtle called the 2nd quarter. 75 yards
  7. On pace for 700 yards.
  8. This doesn’t answer the question, but I think the chances of the people giving the democrats all three, house senate, and president, are pretty low, maybe about 2 of 10. If this happens, media is happy, court packing begins, but after the excitement, and Dow Jones goes seriously bear, job losses increase, how does media convince everybody things are great?
  9. That is my question. Are there any dem. Senators not voting for a packed court.?
  10. I’ve been in Alaska for 2 years. Murkowski is a Democrat with an r next to her name...catholic, pro choice, voted against kavanaugh and will find a reason to vote against Barrett. Do not count her in your scenario, which makes it 50 to 50, and all Biden’s appointments would get confirmed.
  11. Call me crazy, late to the party etc....I’ve watched on the Biden YouTube lately and the old guy starts off wheezing, can barely talk, gets better, coughs into both hands, says 200 million instead of 200 thousand, scratches his face multiple times.... genius move to get expectations so low, if he walks to the podium and smiles he has won the debate! It’s so weird and unpredictable that Trump doesn’t know which Biden will appear. It’s almost like Biden vs Biden would be more fun.....ask him his position on fracking for example, and then show excerpt from primary debate....etc...
  12. I think McConnell May have triggered the dems to reveal their pack the court strategy. I never read about it before. Romney is ok with the process, correct? Looks like it will pass. The ? What will the dems do? Will they get suckered into making personal attacks against a Nominee? How did that work last time? Or will they try something different, like maybe refusing to take part in the hearings. No dogma quotes this time from Feinstein, or same old personal attacks?
  13. Thought I had seen every kind of onside kick. After seeing this, I thought of the ball resembling a fidget spinner. I still think the best onside kick ever was our kicker in the NC game against Bama. Kick it directly at a players chest, bounce off and boom there it is.
  14. Seven of 15 votes against Logoa cast by....women. 26 women in senate. Over 25 % female senators voted against her. No vote by Harris, Warren, klobuchar. 5 senators did not vote. Counted 16 women voted yea. Looks like 69.5% of women voted yea. Far less than total %...84 % yea. Expect a cat fight.... no doubt.
  15. Both ladies catholic, both with children. Both would fire up evangelicals, but Florida! I think it will be Lagoa. Look forward to seeing Harris vs Logoa. Wonder how strong Harris comes? She promised to prosecute the case against Trump. This is as close as she is going to get. If Harris comes too hard, could backfire. Lagoa only had 15 votes against her last time. I think Harris did not vote because she was on campaign trail. Not sure. Both ladies FBI investigations should be updated.
  16. 2020: Get a rope!
  17. A few thoughts: best standard dessert - lemon meringue pie. best unusual dessert that is never made anymore- chocolate eclair - to DIE for. OMG. The crew made these at every store opening. I don't know when the crew died, but when that happened, part of Luby's died. When a store would open it was an honor to be asked to work the opening. After about two years working, I finally made the list. More exciting to be able to work the first two weeks when the first team crew was still there, so I could eat an eclair. Best main entree done with left over food - Soft beef tacos with Tampico sauce - served in flour tortillas- Wow! the tampico sauce itself is like candy to me. best standard veggie/starch when made correctly - mashed potatoes - US #1 potatoes, real butter, whole milk, potatoes drained completely before whipping, salt and pepper, no white pepper. best unusual veggie, and this one made a ton of money---Individual Italian eggplant. Depending upon customers, should have been on the counter every day at most locations. Peel eggplant, slice it, soak in saltwater overnight, bread it, bake it, mozzarella or provolone cheese on top, put in pan on top of the Italian sauce made by the first cook. Back in the oven one more time to melt the cheese.
  18. I looked at the USC roster for freshmen that night and the biggest name I found was Clay Matthews, who was waived recently. I really do think Colt is the footnote in history. Amazing, to think someone with the injury problems Colt has had ends up being the last player from that game to be in the NFL. He probably does play a game or two this year. Whoa! We all remember his game against the Cowboys. He has two chances this year.
  19. Wow, did not see this coming. Thought he was done. Does this make him the last remaining player in nfl to be in uniform from the rose bowl win?
  20. So, nothing unexpected, and now Sullivan schedules a hearing, correct? Anyone hazard a guess if the hearing would be before October?
  21. Hmmm...read article predicting 7 to 3 against Flynn, which agrees with my prediction. What happens if the vote is 5 to 5?
  22. I’ll play...rural Alaska version....we traveled back late July....we both packed, and last time I saw my important red folder it was in her hands in Texas. I knew she packed it. Shortly after we arrive, her: I don’t know where that red folder is and I lost that other important binder with valuables such as birth certificates etc. that you told me to hide. she then gets on Facebook, asks her Facebook friends where they would hide a binder, etc. been married since 1994 to the lady, so I know better than to get upset. I don’t say much at all. Today, her: I found your red folder.....me : where was it? Her: in a suitcase. Me: so all you’ve lost is the binder? No, I found that last week, I didn’t tell you? me: did you tell our son, your sister, Facebook friends, etc. that u found your stuff.? her no. Me.. you know all your Facebook friends are worried about your binder. Small frown on her face. cant make it up.......have to give her credit...first time she’s lost stuff like this. Was bound to happen sooner or later.
  23. Today is the day...does this mean they vote tomorrow?
