  1. Los Vatos Locos, pendejo. Don't disrespec my family. Signed, Milkweed.
  2. I think they should continue protesting and raising hell when they get into the LA County lockup. This guy will listen to it for about 30 seconds before he incentivizes you to STFU.
  3. If the game is "one tribe overpowering the other," isn't that what we have now? Seems like the tribe with the Blue Star on their flag is beating the ever-loving shit out of the other tribe. Those Blue Star guys seem to be winning by a lot. Right?
  4. Because my friends from SWTSU told me stories and this tracks. Oh, and I've watched Animal House. My narrative may not be 100% true but I think it is at least one possible explanation.
  5. I've learned that there is something special about a father and son. Sons seem to me to really want to please their fathers and be admired. They want dad to affirm them. Kid probably died wishing he had tried harder to please dad. This poor boy got two things from dad, physical abuse and emotional cruelty. It's terrible.
  6. Not a fraternity guy myself but had some friends that were KA's at Southwest Texas State University and I'm familiar with their experiences and practices. It just occurred to me that some fraternity guys were sitting around on a couch watching all this stuff unfold and they came up with a grand idea: "Let's make the pledges go fuck with the protesters." After much planning, beer and bong interaction they came up with "pledges, assemble - you are to go defend the American flag in the middle of this protest at all costs. If that flag comes down we're going to haze you fuckers until you die." Then fraternity guys sat back on the couch and watched their glorious plan unfold. These fraternity guys weren't defending the flag out of patriotism, they were doing it out of fear of hazing bullshit and retribution and, the only way they were letting go of that flag was if the Palestinians made life worse than the expected hazing. This story is everything that is great about America.
  7. Tell me it's a coincidence that this "mall" is named Northrop. If the land was donated by these guys Home | Northrop Grumman Well that's just too fucking rich. Mr. Northrop and his blood money say "get off my lawn."
  8. Your post about the French migrating to England sucks too. Somewhere, somehow, we're all immigrants. Leaving Podunk shit town Texas to go to Austin made me a migrant. Go back far enough in my family tree and we probably lived somewhere in Ethiopia or Kenya, just like the rest of you, who are all descendants of original homo sapiens, making us all immigrants. I could make some argument for ancestral entitlement to some place all the way from South Texas to North Africa. And probably there is someone that lived there before me and/or after me that could make an argument too. You tried to wordsmith the phrase "massacre all the Jews," into "There is no antisemitism in this entire conflict, never has been never will be." I think that was bullshit. I think what you really want to say is "Palestinians have an ancestral right to the land and anyone that gets in their way should be subject to eviction. Even if that requires violence. Jew, redneck or Oklahoma fan, you don't care - if they're on "Palestine," forcibly evict them." But that's already been said and you want a hot take. You don't hate Jews because of their genetics, you hate them because they're holding the thing you want.
  9. I don't know man. It certainly appears that New Jersey passed bail reform - at least the Courts seem to say as much here Criminal Justice Reform | NJ Courts Surely the bond judge considered... the law, when granting bail. Maybe you just don't like the fact that bail reform laws resulted in more people receiving bail. Seems to me like when more people receive bail, sooner or later one of them is going to do something criminal. That doesn't make them special. Normal people commit crimes (everyday), why should people out on bail be any different? Bail is a constitutional right but, if I'm the judge that lets a child-abuser out on bail and that person goes on to kill the child, I'm losing sleep. For a long while. Internet says NJ doesn't have death penalty. Would this be a capital crime/death penalty case in Texas?
  10. These cops in LA have some badass gear. What do you think one full set of kit, from the helmet to the boots, gun, taser, armor, patches, backpack, goggles the whole shitaree cost the taxpayers? I'm guessing at least $50,000 which means, because government bidding was involved $125,000 is the real number. These guys look like something from a futuristic movie. Their shit is way nicer than those Delta guys in Blackhawk Down had.
  11. So, if I say "I want to "massacre all the Jews"," I'm not really saying kill people "because they are Jews," but instead, I'm saying "Jews are the enemy - massacre all?" I think you outsmarted me on this one. Maybe try removing the letters "JEW" from your post and replace it with another racial or ethnic term, and see how it plays. I'll help you get it started: "The English commanders openly stated they wanted to massacre all the French. This is not anti-French, because the French are the enemy but they are not the enemy simply because they are French." "There is no anti-French in this entire conflict, never has been never will be. Rookie." I think your post sucks.
  12. Friendly reminder. The last time we went through a bunch of unrest and turmoil, we got actual life-endangering violence. This guy: Texas Department of Criminal Justice Inmate Search Now resides in Brazoria County and doesn't have to worry about things like bills or income taxes anymore. I bet he would do things differently if given a chance. This guy: Garrett Foster: Protester Killed In Austin BLM Shooting (rollingstone.com) Well he's experiencing Valhalla now. I'm sure it's glorious and all. I for one would like to see people behave with some decency. I don't like you or your politics, you don't like me and mine, fine - fuck you - but can we not destroy things including human lives?
  13. Dress like you or we're misfits huh? Give me your address - I'm sending the protesters to your place next.
  14. I am glad that I came of age in a time when my jack-assery, tom foolery and ballyhoo was not memorialized on Google, for posterity.
  15. I'm going to round table this one with the boys down at Carcosa and get back with you. May summon some dark spirits just to make sure I'm on the right track.
  16. I'm no horse expert but I was thinking that they were rugged animals except for broken legs or hooves. A bunch of blood isn't a big deal - stich that sumbitch up and give it some hay. A broken leg - old yeller treatment for you Mr. Smokey. Amirite?
  17. Look, they don't mean to screw you, they're really good people but... reasons, excuses, and voila, the miracle was late so you get to hold the bag. "Sorry, I'll see you at megachurch on Sunday. I'll be wearing expensive clothes and my conscience will be unburdened."
  18. My favorite is when you're in a board meeting about to vote on something (and I've been in 2 where we were deliberating and about to vote on someone's future - hiring/firing - and this happened) and someone rolls out something to the effect of "I've prayed about this and God has led me to know that _________." Sheeeyit. I can't argue with that. You've got the almighty on your side. The alpha and omega. All I did was run this by my wife after a few cocktails, sleep on it, and apply my experience, reason and education to the question. I was feeling pretty confident with my pair of deuces and you just pulled out the Mississippi flush. I guess I just lose. Discussion over, thanks be to God.
  19. I like it when you see someone try to be a smartass or toughster with the foreign country's cops or TSA. I witnessed this last year in a Caribbean country not T&C. Dude, these guys get paid like $7 a day to sit here and deal with your shit. They live in some shack without electricity. When they figure out you'll pay them everything in your wallet to stop the beating... the beating will start.
  20. You left out the restaurant on Congress. It was not a luxury destination, but on Fridays they had shrimp enchiladas. I'm generally not a fan of the shrimp enchilada but I liked that place. I think the back dining room may have been an alley.
  21. What year did South Park Meadows become an Academy? What year did the Backyard become a Target? What year did they tear down the TexMex restaurant at 2nd and Congress (I forgot the name but shrimp enchiladas slammed)? Average those and you'll be in the ballpark. Also, going off memory but wasn't there a Texadelphia at 5th and Congress somewhere? And wasn't there an old Schlotzsky's somewhere around 5th and 35?

    Breakfast Tacos

Are there any good breakfast taco options in Longview? I'll be there for a couple days and could use some local knowledge.
  23. Hallelujah?
  24. I try to impress on my family that car insurance is your friend. Someone wants to steal the car? Fucking have at it - I hope it's in a chop shop or Honduras quickly... I don't really want it back. Someone wants to car jack a car? Here are the keys my friend - no trouble here. That truck was insured and letting a bad guy leave the place where I am, with an insured vehicle? No problemo friendo. Now, come into my house while my family is sleeping, i can't really abide that.
  25. Steve Jobs was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2003, and I understand he lived in California at that time, and all relevant times. In April 2009, miracle of all miracles, he undergoes a liver transplant in... Memphis. I think that's about 7 states and 2,000 miles away from his home. He dies 30 months later of... pancreatic cancer. If I rolled into a liver transplant program with pancreatic cancer, what do you think my odds are of getting a spot on the list? Ever making it to the top of the list? I'm going with "not good Bob." You cannot convince me that all of these transplant programs are run cleanly. Money or connections will get you a better spot in line at certain programs. Stevie Jobs didn't go to Memphis for the ribs and ocean sunsets.
