  1. "Covered in dingdong fudge" does not sound appetizing to me.
  2. I think it was IT (or whichever 9.95er), but one of them claimed that was more or less how the secondary is coached.
  3. I think Georgia's last touchdown was in garbage time per FEI's definition (margin > remaining possessions by losing team x 8 +1). But this makes the loss more pathetic and sad, not less.
  4. Channeling my inner Burton - "Interesting." I don't like playing this game either. I'd probably be inclined to say Manning though, choosing to ignore the clunkers earlier in the season. Good receivers make their QB's look better though. Sayin looks a lot better with both Smith and Tate on the field. Evans made Manziel, etc.
  5. Who is our best skill position guy? How does he compare to the guys at his position on other teams this season?
  6. "Yep, everything is broken."
  7. That hypothetical 10-2 Texas would still have had wins over OU, Vanderbilt, and handed undefeated Aggie their only loss. Would not be surprised if they managed to squeak in (at expense of OU probably). Honestly there aren't 12 legitimate title contenders in a single season, and I agree that the team is obviously not one this season even if they would have made the playoffs with a different schedule.
  8. Offense FEI as OC or HC 2007 USC - 17 2008 USC - 6 2009 Washington - 33 2010 Washington - 47 2011 Washington - 18 2012 Washington - 74 2013 Washington - 17 2014 USC - 14 2015 USC* - 18 (5 games) 2019 Alabama - 2 2020 Alabama - 1 2021 Texas - 35 2022 Texas - 17 2023 Texas - 19 2024 Texas - 18 2025 Texas - 44 (5th best with "Texas" in the name of the school)
  9. SP+ has us as 9.8pt favorites over Arkansas. 73% win probability. And we all know that 51.2% of the time, it works every time.
  10. FEI Rank Texas 20 Arkansas 39 FEI Offense Texas 44 Arkansas 13 FEI Defense Texas 15 Arkansas 88(!) FEI Special Teams Texas 5 (peaked at 1) Arkansas 68 - Guess we'll find out this week how mentally tough the team is, and if they can rally to beat Arkansas. On paper, this should be a favorable matchup for us. Would like to see the defense actually look coordinated this week. Getting into a hole early because of busted coverages, or playing the DB's fifty miles away in zone while sending blitzes would not be ideal. I don't have a huge amount of hope for the offense at this point. If outside zone works, or if Manning can play hero ball it might be enough. Assuming Arkansas's offense is not moving through us like a Norvovirus contaminated meal.
  11. In a way, losing to Florida was actually impressive. So far, only 3 teams in the country have managed that feat. So if we pull something similar against Arkansas, we'll really be in rarefied air.
  12. The problem is a lot of them are getting paid just to show up and go through the motions. A bigger problem is that probably applies to a lot of the coaching staff too.
  13. If Texas is out, then will just go full bitter asshole and root for the teams that will get the worst ratings in the next rounds.
  14. Our defense has some great players up front, and against many of the offenses we have played this year they have been able to cover for weaknesses in the back end. Teams that have talented offensive lines (or can just get away with holding all day like Vandy for a half) have been able to neutralize them and expose the rest of the defense.
  15. It took until season week 10 for the offensive brain trust to figure out the Hutson + Robertson solution for the interior. Even then, this isn't really a combo that is going to excel against the stronger defensive fronts in the conference. Burton was asked a variation of "will Sark move on from underperforming assistants (Flood)" a few times over the last few weeks. Each time he dismissed the question, repeated the "importance of continuity talking point," and said essentially they would be replaced only if they left for the NFL or something. Current state of offensive line is not really something that happened over a single offseason. This was a multiyear failure of talent identification and development. Seems like continuity for the sake of continuity is not ideal in this circumstance.
  16. Current DFEI 5 - Oklahoma 6 - Iowa (rooting for them v Oregon) 10 - Texas (slipped a lot last couple weeks) 15 - Aggie 16 - Florida ... ... 26 - Georgia
  17. I was a Penn State doubter in the offseason, but I did not imagine they would collapse like they did. Wouldn't mind if Allen or Singleton were on our team. There's a narrative that Penn State was still good when they played Oregon, it's just that this loss killed their hopes. This is what is doing the heavy lifting for Oregon's rating right now. That and only a single "quality loss" to Indiana. A loss to Iowa will give me some off week joy. Regardless of their record when we play them, I still like our chances against the Aggies. I mean assuming we have all our starting DBs since apparently we have no quality depth there whatsoever.

Defense also moved to 3rd. Special teams has been trending up, so we have that going for us at least. Weekly prediction has us over Vanderbilt 26-24. Who knows what we actually get out of the offense or defense this week.
  19. If you are the CEO, how do you grade the performance of the various position coaches on offense? Going back in time, would you have made any changes to staff after 2023 or 2024?
  20. I'm so ready to win with defense and special teams I joined the Cult of Horus. You may remember Horus was the Egyptian god of kingship, healing, protection, and winning ugly games with low scoring offense. The last bit isn't recognized as such by Egyptologists, but take a look at this: Also, Horus's origin story is quite interesting:
  21. Well I misremembered end of season SP+ ratings, so this claim doesn't hold up. SP+ was offense 6, defense 13. FEI was flipped 19 and 6 respectively.
  22. I think trotting out a 189lb true freshman QB behind this O line would be a bad idea.
