  1. There was Mike Stoops smoke two weeks ago or so. Many seemed to assume it was so insanely idiotic it couldn't possibly be true. Thank you to those who prevented it from actually happening.
  2. A legit DC as a candidate instead of nonsense like Mike Stoops. Would be happy if he is hired.
  3. Next episode: best and worst pressed pork-like sandwiches.
  4. 5th defense SP+. FEI doesn't like them, their DFEI rank is 27th (with 34th for defensive efficiency component). DF+ works out to 9th.
  5. Alabama DFEI 2016 - 1 2017 - 2 2018 - 4 2019 - 10 2020 - 27 Golding was Co-DC in 2018, and the DC starting in 2019.
  6. 2012 Florida defense was really good. 2nd in DFEI that year, 1st in SP+. So Quinn has that going for him. On the other hand, the 2020 Cincinnati defense was really good. 3rd in DFEI in the current ranking. Freeman has that going for him. Had 8 tackles in the '09 Fiesta Bowl for whatever that is worth.
  7. There is precedent for impeaching after an official has resigned at least. Sec. of War Belknap back in 1876 resigned before the House voted to impeach him. They did so, and he still had a trial in the Senate, even though he was out of office. He was acquitted, but they still had the proceedings after voting that they had the jurisdiction to do so.
  8. Minor thing, but Odom was DC at Memphis for 2012, 2013, and 2014. Memphis defense improved year to year, big jump for year 3. Dave Steckel was DC at Missouri through 2014. Memphis Defensive FEI 2012 - 65 2013 - 64 2014 - 27
  9. They gave themselves a post-season ban this year, quite a harsh punishment. No need for Raymond to worry about sanctions, sure this ban is also sufficient for their Title IX violations too. Besides that, who here can honestly say they've never embezzled half a million dollars from a children's hospital to buy recruits?
  10. Wiki logs the edits with the user that makes the edits, and actually that can point through to a few location services. Just have to click on the "View History" tab on the wiki article. Since it depends on database, others said Sevierville or Nashville. Besides that, there are the probably corporate listings for New York or New Jersey.
  11. Yeah but the IP doesn't always match the user's location. I think all the wireless guys just assign whatever IP to the users.
  12. Edit was at 7:04 UTC apparently. Clicking through, the IP was from Knoxville (Verizon Wireless).
  13. Odom was DC at Missouri for the 2015 season. They were 8th in FEI and 3rd in S/P+ for defense. He was safeties coach for a few years before Missouri left the Big 12, but was at Memphis as DC in between then and 2015.
  14. Muschamp turned the job down, eh? Just because of "timing?" From what I understand, his actual signed contract with Scar had no mitigation language, so I guess he doesn't have to find a new job anyway. Otherwise, also heard he was going to Georgia but don't know if that was someone with any knowledge of anything. Odom might be ok, I don't know if he ever was the one responsible for hiring staff under him at Memphis or Missouri as a DC, although he inherited a mess as head coach at Mizzou after the strikes. The defense did trend up after that though.
  15. I read the comments at BON when I am trying to kill brain cells and I am all out of methanol.
  16. Ash hasn't seemed to have all that many years at one stop as DC to look much at trends. Still, I think he is worth retaining. FEI defense rank and change from previous, because convenience. - down rank, + up rank 2011 Wisconsin - 48 (-2) 2012 Wisconsin - 18 (+30) 2013 Arkansas - 99 (-35) 2014 Ohio State - 14 (+43) 2015 Ohio State - 7 (+7) 2020 Texas - 38 (+16) Retaining Ash is fine with me, let him get a few new position coaches though. Not sure Akina as a DC is a good idea, he was demoted from Co-DC the last time he was here. And since then he has been a DB coach, not DC, at all of his stops.
  17. He should be in the conference championship game barring strange happenstances or bad injury luck.
  18. Pollack just mad that bad Texas is still better than Georgia.
  19. Sarkisian is an offensive genius. Just look at how much he has accomplished with Alabama's bare-cupboard roster. Not even three Heisman finalists on that two-deep. Fewer 5 stars than stars in the sky.
  20. Easy to leave on a high note when your first note is losing to Maryland.
  21. My ears are being polluted with Alabama and Notre Dame talk.
  22. "What defines firm control?" "Two hands are better than one." That is accurate in several situations.
  23. Even when Bijan loses yards, he gains them.
