Camp near the Fields of Global Commerce April 2025 My Dearest Clara, I write you now from the trenches of a most peculiar conflict—not one fought with muskets and cannon, but with tariffs, regulations, and the shifting allegiance of markets. The generals call it a "trade war," but to us enlisted souls in the factories, farms, and freightyards, it feels every bit as real as the battles of my youth. The enemy wears no color, no uniform; rather, he hides behind currency fluctuations and retaliatory duties, his weapons are policy announcements, and his victories tallied not in land, but in balance sheets. Our commanders—chief among them the President and his council of economists—speak often of protecting the homeland’s industry, of restoring balance with the East. Chief among our adversaries is the Empire of China, who has laid claim to a vast portion of the world’s supply chains. We levy duties upon their goods, and they, in turn, upon ours. The ports are quieter now, Clara. Fewer ships come bearing foreign wares, and our own exports pile up like unspent bullets, waiting for markets that no longer beckon. The people back home are divided. Some cheer each blow struck against foreign dominance, calling it the price of sovereignty. Others curse the rising costs and thinning shelves, whispering that this war was started not for defense, but for pride. The merchants and smallholders suffer most, caught between policies too large for them to sway, yet too near to ignore. Still, we hold the line. We speak of reshoring, of independence, of victory through resilience. But as with all wars, Clara, I wonder if the end will come not through triumph, but through exhaustion. Pray that our leaders see sense before this trade war turns to ashes what industry we have left. Your faithful, <Insert name of TwiceHorn's client> 4th Division, Economic Front

Apparently, Trump, and maybe others, think that those people who wrote and voted for the 14th amendment never, I mean never, thought it might be used outside the scope of former slaves. I guess they were all pretty dumb.

Some crazy finishes. Especially the ManU match. Fun to watch, even though I wouldn't have been disappointed to see ManU go down. -

It really seems like these big dollar donors to Trump from the energy sector would have already explained to him the issue when oil prices get too low. Then again, this is Trump. His 3rd grade understanding of international markets and economies probably wouldn't allow that to sink in.

In recent news story I watched, El Salvador said they do have evidence of him being a gang member while in El Salvador. Of course, when asked, they wouldn't show this evidence.

If I worked for the State Department I think I would start telling my story of how the Salvation Army is just as bad as the Catholic Church as far as kid molesting pastors. Who of course once found out were just moved to another location. Unfortunately, a family member of mine was a victim of this back in the 60's. messed her up something good. I would bet it is still going on now. You know, typical Christian behavior. Would telling the truth get me in trouble? Who am I kidding , the truth doesn't matter in a fascist state.

Ok. So who do we lay off first? Warehouse guys? Customer service reps? IT people? You know the execs aren't going to give up their pay. Not even saying anything about the shareholders.

I know. That line makes me think he is posting this in the break room of Trump Tower (or wherever the fuck he worked at). Which brings up another thought, can you imagine the type of correspondence he had with his employees? Every single one of them had to know how stupid and insane he is.

My previous two stops were at companies that sold products exclusively sourced from China. I had no idea we were getting financially raped by China when we took those products and sold them from four to twenty times more than we paid for them. In the case for medical supplies sometimes even more than that. I guess those millions of dollars of profits and hundreds of jobs were just the lube China used as thy were screwing us. Who knew?

Getting rid of anti American ideology, but restoring confederate statues? Hmmm.

When I was working for a large energy company in Oklahoma, we had a ton of H1B visa holders. I think my whole team except maybe one guy was from India on a visa. I'm not sure how it works in other areas, but I can tell you It wasn't cheap to hire those guys (and a few ladies). The actual visa holder made less than our FTEs, but the agencies that find and sponsor them charged an arm and a leg. Maybe that was just for BFE Oklahoma, I don't know. However, I can tell you, that if enough of the rednecks in the state actually knew IT, we would have preferred to hire them. The visa route was a necessity to get the job done.
