  1. From Sunrise Spur's mid-week home, TEXAS!
  2. Nope, it's all over. His mission is a failure. His lifestyle's too extreme.
  3. Saw the logs?
  4. Yeah, don't sleep on them.
  5. It will be from now on.
  6. Ugarte: You despise me don't you, Rick? Rick: If I gave you any thought I probably would.
  7. Mastermind, more like it.
  8. That fuckin' Walt Anderson was involved, one way or another.
  9. Cali: They don't call it the land of fruits and nuts for nothing.
  10. Hey, one of those walkons made all-district. Second team.
  11. And if the whole fraternity system is guilty, then isn't this an indictment of our educational institutions in general? I put it to you, Greg - isn't this an indictment of our entire American society?
  12. Preach, brother! However, this may be too sane and rational for this board.
  13. Yeah, Surly's right up there with heroin, alcohol, and pussy (not necessarily in that order).
  14. If none of the eligible SEC teams had much chance of beating meatchicken they would...doesn't tarnish the brand too much if you throw one of the noobs to the slaughter. I'm not too sure it would be a slaughter, which I'd want of Herculean proportions if aggy did play MeatChicken.
  15. Like a friend of mine used to say, "Bait 'at trap with pussy, you gon catch me ever time."
  16. Like Everett Dirksen once said, "A billion here, a billion there; pretty soon you're talking real money."
  17. I didn't think they were that fast. (ba-dum-chhhh!)
  18. This guy gets it. All of it. Where do I send my $9.95?
  19. Yeah, Harrison's also a UDFA this year.
  20. Herb Hand coached Darius James for two years at Auburn. I still wonder why James transferred--hated Charlie, maybe? Wickline? I remember this board basically saying, "Ah, it's not big deal, he wasn't even going to start here." Then he sits out a year and starts two years at RT for Auburn. He's now a UDFA at Cleveland. He damn sure could have/should have played here. Injuries, transfers, marginal talent/bad evals--damn, we've had our problems with the OL. Maybe it gets better this year, marginally at least.
  21. It may be just this simple: Herman had a staff at cougar high that recruited pretty well. He assumed they'd recruit pretty well here so he brought a lot of them with him. The difference is, Texas is the big-boy league and the competition is waaaay ramped up. "Pretty well" at Houston is just not cutting it here. The good news is, Herman isn't Strong-level dumb--he'll make needed changes next off-season. For one, he more or less promised his guys 2 years and they've had two years. Two, CDC will prod him to cut the deadwood and will make the resources available to go out and get better production. All that said, I guess it's possible we make a late-cycle push and flip a few high-star guys in areas of need. Then there's less pressure to fire the non-producers. After it all shakes out, I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
  22. Yeah, and let's face it: That's a pretty average bunch. It's last year all over again, with a better LT (not counting Williams, of course). We're hanging our hat on another year in the system and in the weightroom and better coaching. I can see a 20% improvement, but not a whole lot more, and that ain't much. Hope I'm wrong.
