  1. There’s been so much hand wringing about this game since ISU ripped off a few Big 12 wins. ISU is just not that good. KSU is better and TCU is a worse matchup. This is still the team that lost to Ohio (not state), scoring 7, and lost by 30 to OU. Texas should win this game comfortably. 21-24 is all they should need. If they don’t win, they gave ISU gift points or got embarrassingly outplayed and/or outcoached.
  2. I said 8/9 (think I voted 8?, on mobile), I don’t think the team is that different that what I expected overall. DL is definitely better, secondary worse, and a few specific guys on offense - Brooks, Ewers, Mitchell come to mind - exceeding expectations somewhere between a little and a lot. Otherwise I expected an obviously talented team that struggles with consistency, not unlike its coach. If I knew the Big 12 would be this bad I’d probably have revised up a game. Mostly looking at you, Texas schools. Definitely did not have Bama as a W, props to the team and staff for that. I remember the typical script playing out - one we’ve seen again the past couple weeks - but then they found a gear and flipped it. Here’s hoping they continue to find ways to win and prove me more and more wrong. People seem to think doubting Sark or expressing frustration/concern about issues means you want Texas to fail. We’re sitting here posting on a UT football message board, that’s obviously not true. Apathy is the real sign of disinvestment, not being critical.
  3. Honestly I recommend watching the Big 12 CCG from home. Entry into Jerryworld was a mess in 2018, they could learn things from the Cotton Bowl it was so bad. Environment is extremely stale. Nothing to do after, you’re just stuck in parking lots in beautiful Arlington.
  4. I thought you wanted someone better than Conner

    9-1

The offensive line played their best game of the year against KSU and were fine last night. Texas ran for 165 yards at 4 ypc with Jonathan Brooks going down. They didn’t give up a sack on an injured QB. The stupid pre snap penalties that continue to happen are annoying but that’s really the worst thing you can say about these guys the past couple weeks. They don’t can the plays or play soft zone coverage

This. ISU is not particularly good. TCU was a much tougher matchup. Absent simply gifting ISU points on a silver platter, Texas wins if they get to 21-24 points. Even without Brooks I don’t see them being unable to clear that. Sark is a liability on game day who has and will continue to cost Texas games. He’s also elevated the roster to the point where getting all the way to actually losing these games is pretty difficult. We talk like it’s one or the other but the fact is both are true and the former is more frustrating because of the latter.
  7. Feel awful for Brooks. You hate to see that happen to anyone but especially someone who’s worked and played as hard as he has. If it’s as severe as feared this not only ends his but really fucks up his draft stock. And yeah it’s a huge blow for Texas. He’s done quite a bit of making chicken salad out of chicken shit that Baxter and Blue haven’t really shown to be capable of. There were a few points last night where it felt like Sark got too conservative and refused to put the game in the hands of his five star QB and stable of five star pass catchers. I don’t know why you’re investing the resources to go out and get those guys if you’re just going to turtle as hard as possible and refuse to continue to utilize them with a lead. Perhaps this prompts a reevaluation from Sark.
  8. lol sure. 9-1 outside of Michigan and Georgia is the floor, with a new QB. K.
  9. I don’t dislike Sark. He seems like a genuine guy. The question of why OU doesn’t fuck around with inferior opponents like this was posed. Sark and his staff were also outcoached severely in Dallas and that would seem to have something to do with it. If you can’t or won’t see that then I worry about you. Not much else to say here.
  10. They are better coached than Texas, as was demonstrated a month ago
  11. Texas will be 7-5/8-4 next year. This is the year for hardware.
  12. The announcers were fellatiating Texas in the first half. TCU was the team storming back in the second. Texas didn’t give them anything good to say. People are just butthurt.
  13. The frustrating thing about the past few weeks is that this is definitely not true and I’m not even sure the matchup looks that different than it did then. Alabama is good enough that stress never built a 20 point lead and took its foot off the gas. Why do you think that? This is par for the course.
  14. It’s the team’s identity at this point. The thing they have done best and most consistently over his three year tenure.
  15. Alabama has to be fucking kicking themseves for losing to this team. Should have just gotten down by more
  16. Great catch by Mitchell. And worth noting because he is catching heat, great block by Baxter.
  17. Complete meltdown. I didn’t think was going to lose until that dumb return. Mentally broken.
  18. We’re all going to keep talking about it after TCU can’t quite pull this off
  19. Is it? How many times do you need to see it happen before you expect it?
  20. Blowing leads is this program’s identity under Sark. It’s what they do best and most consistently. Thank god Big 12 refs were looking out for Texas on that 2pc
  21. I didn’t think he was hurt at first because he looks like he’s injured at the end of basically every run. Hopefully this is one of those things that ends up not as bad as looks in the moment. Beyond what it would mean for Texas, you just hate to see such an excellent season ended by injury
  22. I’m pretty sure Kansas is the actual second or third best team in this conference. They’ve just been dealt a shit hand with QB injuries
  23. I do feel for Kansas though they probably lay waste to Tech with Bean, let alone Daniels
