  1. It was cringe af. I almost felt bad for him. Almost.
  2. This was baller
  3. I don’t mean half assing as a derogatory term. The effort was great as long as it needed to be. The players and coaches clearly knew the game was won against an overwhelmed opponent and acted accordingly, including some shots at running up the score for perceived playoff benefit. I mean that Texas was obviously not concerned with OSU making anything of the game and OSU proved them right. They are ass. As to your second point, read your post again, it doesn’t at make sense. Those aren’t in conflict. You pull the starters because you are up a million, energy is naturally lower, and there is no sense risking an injury. Playing backups up 42-14 mitigates injury risk and frankly energized second stringers are still plenty capable of putting up style points against a broken opponent as was observed as recently as a week ago.
  4. Cross posting from the Worthy thread - I’ll be honest I overacted in the moment seeing him in a boot and on crutches. Depending on the severity of the sprain (assuming that’s what it is given Sark said x rays are negative) I would think he could play in a playoff game. Maybe limited but hopefully not too much. He obviously won’t play a non CFP bowl but he wouldn’t have without an injury anyway. The general sentiment stands. Just unnecessary. OSU had quit and you know those young backups would bring the juice against a tapped out OSU. Irresponsible and potentially hurts in a playoff game. Even if Worthy can ultimately play that doesn’t mean the unnecessary risk wasn’t there. I don’t really want to harp too much on this though. Bottom line I jumped the gun I’ll leave it at that. Texas just closed on a legacy season and may have more to come. Victory beers.

  6. Yormark oh my lol
  7. Three non-mutually exclusive thoughts: Most importantly, I am fucking ecstatic with this championship. Really happy for the team and staff. A lot has gone into this from where the program was just a couple years ago, and frankly I did not think they would get over the hump at the beginning of the year. I hope things fall so that Texas makes the CFP but 12-1 with an outright B12 title is extremely sweet in its own right. I will remember this group and season for a long time. OSU is a bad team. Like, I was under no illusion they were actually the 18th best team in CFB but my god. How did this group beat OU, Kansas, and K State? Texas was half assing for pretty much the whole second half and it was still non competitive. Yikes. Leaving starters in up 42-14 was irresponsible and it is tragic that Xavier Worthy’s last play at Texas was very possibly getting injured throwing the ball up 42-14. C’mon Sark.
  8. Keeping Worthy in the game and getting him hurt - ending his Texas career - up 42-14 is tragic. He deserved a lot better than that. Thanks for everything X. I think he is going to be a fantastic pro.
  9. Pretty simple really. If Oregon, Alabama, and Texas all won, that could have opened a path for Texas despite FSU winning by creating a scenario where you have three teams for two spots. 12-1 SEC champion Alabama fresh off a win over UGA has the best overall body of work. Texas has H2H over Bama. The revaluing of Bama and Texas’s win over them could vault Texas over Oregon and make the latter hold the bag at the end of the day. Michigan, FSU, Texas, Bama. Oregon at 5. Is that how it would have played out? Idk. But unlike jumping 13-0 Washington the chance is nonzero. Not rocket surgery. But also moot now.
  10. It’s true and yet I can’t bring myself to be upset that the eye test national champs lost to their biggest rival, again
  11. I missed most of the game. Washington outgaining Oregon by 80, +30 on the ground, 10-15 on 3rd down vs 3-10, and +15 mins in TOP with a net zero turnover margin tells me this probably wasn’t a fluke. It was always odd to me that these teams were seen as equals six weeks ago and Oregon was favored by 9 now. Congrats to UW. I suppose this is marginally worse for Texas but I’m happy for them. DeBoer 25-2 in two years is, uh, something.
  12. The only was Texas passes Oregon is if Alabama wins too. Once or cumulatively?
  13. I know Oregon is probably marginally better for Texas in terms of CFP placement but I kind of just prefer UW. I like Seattle and Dubs is a cool mascot. And their uniforms aren’t as dumb.
  14. Uh this is going to be like three quarters of the SEC
  15. Yeah animal cruelty is a classic red flag. This shit is just sociopathic and gross, Indont know what else to say. I hope they can find the perps. I honestly don’t know if it ends up being bulletin board material - prep is basically done at this point anyway - but it certainly won’t build any goodwill.
  16. Yeah that wasn’t a shot at you specifically. After the recruiting drama and entering the portal the first time I think anyone would have guessed his days were numbered once it was clear Baxter and Brooks were going to get the PT. I certainly would have.
  17. Going into the year it seemed like a Blue transfer was a foregone conclusion but he has consistently impressed. Really hope he ducks around. For as fast and explosive as he is, he also runs a lot harder than you’d expect
  18. Alabama scores a TD and takes a 16-13 lead at the very end of the third quarter, winning the third quarter 10-0. This coming off a first half where Texas went to the locker room up 13-6 but should have been winning by at least 4 more points. We have seen this movie before. Texas then proceeds to knife down the field for a TD, pick Alabama off deep in their own territory, and convert a TD on the first play off the turnover, with DJ Campbell blocking two Alabama defenders on the TD run. A three point deficit becomes an 11 point lead in like 90 seconds of game time. That was pretty fucking cool to see them flip the script like that. Honorable mention to both Sweat and Murphy going off on ISU and holding them to 9 yards rushing after their OL popped off in the media and just demolishing Tech after a year of chirping. That isn’t quite the most electric I’ve ever seen DKR but it is up there. Honestly my favorite single play in terms of excitement in the moment was probably the J Brooks run to tie the OU game at 27. It felt like after a whole day of shooting themselves in the foot, Texas had finally gotten right and established momentum that was going to win them the game.
  19. They may have, it’s Venables after all. But unless Texas had signs for “throw it right at the CB that doesn’t move instead of the wide open slant in the slot,” “drop this pass and have it float in the air forever so it is picked,” and “get your shit rocked four times when you need one yard,” I don’t think signals were a big factor. Texas offense was good when it got out of its own way. Just one of those games unfortunately. Wish it was against Kansas or some shit instead but oh well. The way the team rebounded after the loss has been impressive. Plenty of Texas teams have lost that game, still had or ended up everything in front of them, and failed to capitalize. Close on an outright Big 12 title tomorrow and it’s just a bump in the road.
  20. This is not the slight people want to read it as but I’m surprised Gundy would put that out there regardless. No, they don’t, because it would be extremely obvious and cause credibility issues for the conference and its teams going forward. Texas shouldn’t expect much in terms of judgment calls but it won’t go beyond that.
  21. I was told the Big 12 would absolutely risk costing itself millions in CFP revenue to fuck Texas tho
  22. Next year obviously Arkansas and aggy. Looking forward to LSU. Baton Rouge sucks but we owe them a trip and I think that series is going to develop a rivalry feel quickly. I’ve heard Athens and Knoxville are nice. I guess one has to go to The Grove once in their life.
