  1. i just don't see how that will matter. Republicans are 100% in on supporting foreign interference. they aren't just looking the other way this time around, they are actively encouraging it.
  2. This quite literally is the best that Republicans have to offer this country - a wholly dishonest and corrupt President who "leads" by name calling and throwing temper tantrums. This is the guy who has the full support and approval of 99%+ of current Republicans. They are a complete disgrace.
  3. yummmm. every year after Christmas and/or Easter i attempt to break my previous year's record of number of mini sandwiches consumed made with these and the leftover Honeybaked ham
  4. yep. trump will receive 4-5 million less actual votes this time around and will be "re-elected" - easily - in a sham. its amazing to me that people think that we can just "get out the vote" and vote this guy out of office, and he will step aside. i mean, i'd love to be wrong, but the outcome seems as clear as day to me.
  5. as a real life divorce lawyer, a big movie lover, and a human being, it made me want to kill myself and I turned it off about an hour and a half in.
  6. And current Republicans are perfectly fine with it today. None of them will speak out against it.
  7. moong dal 1 cup moong dal split mung beans, soaked 2 hours in cold water, drained and rinsed 2 cups vegetable broth 3/4 teaspoon turmeric 1 teaspoon salt 3 tablespoons ghee (or vegetable oil) 1/2 teaspoon cumin 1 serrano cut lengthwise 5 garlic cloves, minced 1 1/2 large shallot, diced garam masala chile oil Put dal, turmeric and salt in a large pot, add 2 cups vegetable broth and 5 cups water and bring to a gentle boil, stirring. Turn heat to low and cover pot with lid slightly ajar. Check pot and stir frequently - skim off and discard any foam that rises. Cook for about 45 minutes, until quite soft. Taste and adjust salt. For a smooth, velvety consistency, purée dal in a blender, then return to pot. If you prefer texture, just beat with a whisk for a minute or two. Make the tarka: heat ghee in a small skillet over medium heat. Add cumin, serrano and garlic and cook until cumin is fragrant and garlic is lightly colored, about 1 minute. Add shallot and continue cooking until shallot is softened, about 1 minute more. Pour contents of skillet into pot and stir into the dal. Transfer to individual soup bowls. Sprinkle with a pinch of garam masala and red chile powder and serve with basmati rice
  8. her name is Quinn. hard to believe she is 5 years old now - time flies. what cracks me up is how serious/somber she looks in most of these pictures - she is a total spaz and i constantly have to remind myself that someday she will slow down and i will look back and miss all this energy.
  9. well, its also brought the racists and traitors out of the woodwork and made them easier for the rest of us to identify
  10. mentioned upthread that i am a big fan of the basic, cheap white bread and chez grilled cheese sandwich, but did one for lunch today with havarti, swiss, and white american on black rye. damn good.
  11. What do they actually do at Camp Mabry? I mean, what goes on there on a typical day? How many people are working there / in and out every day? Are there people living on site? It’s such a huge tract of land and has lots of buildings, but I can’t really tell if it’s actually serving as a base of any real day to day operations, or if maybe it’s just there if it’s needed, or if it’s just some administration for state wide stuff, or, .... I don’t know. You can find general info on the web, but it doesn’t really answer the above questions.
  12. white bean hummus 4 garlic cloves 1 15-ounce can white cannellini beans, rinsed and drained ¼ cup tahini 6 tablespoons fresh lemon juice 1 1/2 teaspoons ground coriander 1 teaspoon soy sauce 1 teaspoon fish sauce Kosher salt ¼ cup extra-virgin olive oil Pulse the garlic in a food processor until minced. Scrape the bowl and add the beans, tahini, lemon juice, coriander, soy and fish sauce and 1 teaspoon salt. Pulse until smooth, scraping the bowl occasionally. With the machine running, add the olive oil. Season to taste with salt. *Notes - this makes very garlicky hummus, which is how i like it. Original recipe called for 1 garlic clove, I used 4. The original recipe also called for white miso paste (2 teaspoons) and the soy and fish sauce were my substitutes and that worked great.
  13. 99% of Republicans support a President who has told literally tens of thousands of blatant lies. they LOVE Trump's dishonesty - it is an endearing quality to those who are themselves fundamentally dishonest people
  14. dal makhani - served with Trader Joe's paratha, which are excellent 3/4 cup whole black gram beans (sabat urad) 2 tablespoons adzuki beans or pink beans (choti rajma) 2 tablespoons split chickpeas (chana dal) 1 cup plain whole-milk yogurt, whisked 2 cups finely chopped onions 1 1/2 cups chopped tomatoes 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh ginger 1 teaspoon turmeric 1 teaspoon ground cardamom 1 teaspoon paprika 1/2 teaspoon chili powder 2 teaspoons salt 3 tablespoons sunflower or safflower oil 1 1/2 teaspoons minced garlic 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin 3/4 teaspoon garam masala 1/2 cup plain low-fat yogurt Combine the legumes with 4 cups water (I used 2 cups water, 2 cups vegetable broth) in a large saucepan and bring to a boil; cook, uncovered, for 2 minutes. Turn off the heat and cover the pot; let the legumes soak for 2 hours. Add the whole-milk yogurt, 1 cup onions, tomatoes, ginger, turmeric, cardamom, paprika, chili and salt to the pot and bring to a boil once more. Cook, partly covered, over low heat for 90 minutes, or until the dal is very soft. Turn off the heat and purée the dal for about 1 minute; it should be saucy but not soupy. To make the tadka, heat the oil in a small saucepan over high heat. When the oil is hot, add the remaining cup of onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until they begin to soften, 3 to 5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook, stirring constantly, until medium brown. Turn off the heat and stir in the cumin and garam masala. Transfer the dal to a large bowl and cover with the low-fat yogurt; top with tadka, stir gently and serve.
  15. vegetarian SB snacks white bean hummus and muhammara baba ganoush buffalo cauliflower. homemade ranch kind of sucked, will probably stick with the packet next time lulz. will pull and post any of the recipes if anyone wants them. i made pretty big batches of the dips/spreads and will use the leftovers as the bases for lunches throughout the week. the white bean hummus and baba ganoush were both "i don't know if I can buy store bought again" level good. next time i will make tabbouleh to go with the baba ganoush - that would have gone great with it.
  16. some cooking, some assembling vegetarian breakfast tacos - refried white beans and cheese, homemade pickled beets, homemade pickled red onions, avocado, japs, salsa. delicious
  17. Of course - Republicans are fundamentally dishonest. They uniformly worship a pathological liar. Trump doesn’t have the support of 99% of Republicans in spite of his complete dishonesty, he has it precisely because of it.
  18. yep. every one of these Republicans, along with Trump, need to be dragged out of their buildings and strung up.
  19. not sure why anyone would expect anything else. 100% of all current Republicans are complete and utter frauds.
  20. the best and brightest minds of today's Republican party
  21. and not a single Republican speaks up about it.
  22. of course - 100% of Republicans act in bad faith at all times.
  23. hey look, a Republican pretending to do the right thing.
