  1. dear sirs: this intrigues me greatly. what is this exactly, and where is this darrell's that you speak of
  2. could be wrong but i think i read that it is creme soda based, which is probably why it is so disgusting
  3. me too. so this brings the total number of Republicans who are willing to do the right thing, nationwide, to .... one.
  4. with indoor lawn darts thrown in for good measure
  5. This. Big Red is disgusting. Yes. Big Red and Creme Soda are the two worst beverages, of the world.
  6. Will be in Atlanta for a long weekend in late March/early April. I have not been to Atlanta since I was a kid, with my parents, so it is sort of a blank slate for me to fill and looking for some recommendations. Staying downtown Peachtree Center Will be Ubering, no car. We arrive Thursday AM and leave Monday afternoon. Have plans (concerts) Saturday and Sunday nights at a place near Fourth Ward Park. Beyond that, the rest of the weekend is open for sites, activities, culture, meals, etc. Planning on visiting the High Museum one afternoon. GF has expressed some interest in a tour of CNN as she has a relative who works there. What else shouldn't we miss? Must do places to eat (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) - anything from divey to high end is in our bailiwick - would like to focus on Southern/regional fare as much as possible, but not exclusively. Not interested in bars, unless its to eat, or see music. Hit me - thx
  7. my favorite leftover chili meal - frito pie tacos would cross-post to the steel shank thread, but plate too fancy
  8. jumbo meatballs with homemade marinara topped with olive oil, romano, burrata and basil
  9. There have been several dozen impeachable offenses prior to this. That we know of. Nothing happened with any of those, and nothing will come of this, either. There simply is no bottom for Trump and the Republican Party. None.
  10. Let’s be real. He’s about six feet and probably around 280. He’s super fucking fat.
  11. Just like the majority of Republicans
  12. ^^ The Belgian Restaurant Damn, that was a long time ago, havent thought of that place in forever
  13. Republican politicians and voters are absolute garbage.
  14. yes. see, e.g, texashammer, immortal13, chickensandwich, onboard2, et al.
  15. the goat cheese and lemon tart is also very legit.
  16. Why does anyone post a serious response to anything this guy says?
  17. Look - you can have that perspective, and it doesn't faze me one bit. But the reality is I continue to positively impact hundreds of lives each year through my job and enjoy the mutual respect and gratitude shared with my students and colleagues. And now I’m going to go pack for my family's 10-day trip to Orlando.
  18. This is my thought as well. I guess I kinda get the argument that this move sets precedent for all kinds of hypothetical good stuff at some hypothetical point in the future, but I’m just having a hard time giving much of a fuck about or taking any comfort in any of that. I want the bullshit that is going on now stopped dead in it’s tracks now, much more.
  19. re: parking - the surface lot of the commercial building directly across Hearn is open for F&R customers.
  20. another one i haven't seen mentioned here - GF and I have hit Fabi & Rossi for weeknight date night a few times recently. food is excellent, service has been top notch, ambience (for lack of a better term, i suppose) is great - there are probably 14 or so tables in there total (not including what looks to be a large party table in the back), in a charming old house. not loud at all, not crowded on top of other tables, and you can usually walk in and be seated right away (weeknights, anyway) . nice little patio area out front when the weather is nice. one of my favorite spots.
  21. shit man, i've been ready to riot for a long time now. i just feel like it would be kind of silly for me to do it all by myself.
  22. yes. and that same thing could be said about several dozens of things that have already happened during this administration. and here we are - not only is trump still in office, but between 40 and 50+ percent of the voting population supports him and will vote for him again no matter who the opponent(s) is/are (and my contention is that it is closer to 50 per cent, there are just less people willing to admit it publicly, thus skewing his poll approval numbers downwards), and there is a very strong chance he will be re-elected. so, yeah.
  23. damn, that sounds delicious. here, we are continuing our yearly tradition of going out for Conan's pizza,. last year we were the only customers in the place (RIP Conan's Guadalupe)
  24. ^^^^ not surprising. commented on this in the burgers thread a bit ago. sadz
