  1. no matter how it all ends, trump and his supporters will be doing victory dances. within a matter of days, all the folks who voted R in 2018 will be blaming the democrats for all of it, and trump's support numbers will be right back where they were before the shutdown, or higher. nothing will change.
  2. I was in Rome and Florence in September and agree with the above completely. 2 days would have been plenty in Rome, and would have liked to have 5 days in (and around) Florence.
  3. And makes you a brave hero to today’s Republican voters.
  4. Icono says he’s excited about the future of the Republican Party. Well folks, that right there is the future of the Republican Party.* *Also the current Republican Party.
  5. Offer of make DACA permanent and NO wall money, plus non-wall border security money, contingent on the release of Trump’s tax returns first.
  6. If it’s something wrapped in a tortilla, and I’m eating it as my first meal of the day, it’s a breakfast taco. The end.
  7. “Let’s wait til we can get the traitors on board!” The process of removing Trump should have been started within an hour of him stepping off the stage in Helsinki. You don’t wait on traitors to do the right thing, to do the right thing yourself.
  8. And I mean, really, why isn’t anyone talking about the fact that some congressman who said something racist in the 1960s WAS A DEMOCRAT!!!!!
  9. Yep. And I’m not holding my breath on that happening anytime soon. If there is one thing I’ve learned from all of this is, it’s that you can’t count on any Republican to do the right thing, on anything, ever.
  10. Yeah, with Hopfields and Via 313 close by, I rarely make it there much these days. But Milto’s, Ruby’s, and Thai Kitchen were on my very regular rotation for a few years in the late 90s and after. I read about the impending closing a couple weeks ago and stopped in for dinner one night last week. Greek salad still rocks. One more place that I’ll miss.
  11. Hypocrisy, fear, and the enjoyment of the pain and suffering of others.
  12. By far the most despicable group of people in America. One upside to the Trump era is that more and more people are seeing them for the dangerous frauds that they really are.
  13. Someone make a gif out of this ala Billy Lucci on the sidelines. You know the one I’m talking about.
  14. that's just it. by being a lowlife shitbag who loudly says exactly what he thinks without filter, Trump has given Republicans everywhere permission to say publicly what they have been thinking and saying behind closed doors, and amongst themselves, for decades - the racism, the sexism, the xenophobia, the homophobia, and the hatred of anyone or anything "other" or different than the white, hypocritical, fake christians that they are.
  15. He either won't promise to do that, or if he does, he'll be lying. He wouldn't be in this position right now unless Trump already knew this for a fact.
  16. plus you can bone all the local chicks you want there without using protection. i mean, when's the next time you're going to be in Haiti?
  17. Make paste of: 1 heaping Tablespoon minced ginger 1 heaping Tablespoon minced garlic 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 heaping teaspoon Chinese five spice Rub down the roast (mine was 4 lbs) with the paste and let sit for an hour Then put roast in a big ziploc and cover with a pre-mixed marinade of: 1/4 cup dry sherry 1/4 cup soy sauce 2 Tablespoons light brown sugar Marinade for 2 hours or so in fridge, turning several times Sear/brown roast in dutch oven with canola oil Remove roast and set aside and add 2 cups beef bone broth and 1/2 cup or so of water and the marinade liquid and 1 heaping Tablespoon tomato paste; bring to a boil and scrape browned bits from pan Return roast to pan and simmer covered for 2 - 2 1/2 hours Add 3 cubed white yukon potatoes, 3 giant diced carrots, 2 sweet onions sliced Cook for another 30 minutes Add green parts of sliced scallions in last 10 minutes Pull roast and vegetables out and set aside to strain the liquid off and then return the liquid to the pan and add 1 Tablespoon cornstarch and 1/4 cup water mix to the liquid and cook that down to get the liquid to thicken and make gravy; return roast and vegetables to pan to heat back up together -It was delicious, cant wait to eat leftovers tonight
  18. While I feel like you and I are generally on the same page on a lot of this, 47 million people voted for them just two months ago. 47 million people actively support an ongoing criminal enterprise. That doesn't feel finished to me at all.
  19. you want the recipe? or just what the dish is
  20. Lulz, that sounds like FCHorn.
  21. Paranoia is a common symptom among those suffering severe mental illness.
  22. How will it play? Not a single Republican will vote to convict. I have yet to see even a modicum of evidence that any Republican leader will do the right thing, under any circumstances whatsoever. People keep saying it will happen - and I’d like to be proven wrong - but there is simply nothing tangible to indicate that it will. Just people saying, “this HAS to be it!” There have been at least a dozen incidents that should have easily supported Trump’s immediate removal from office. And not a single one of them has said or done a thing. Further, 50% (or more) of Americans either openly cheer on or are willing to accept (or at least look the other way at) a President who is both severely mentally ill and an obvious traitor - because it makes them feel good to think that it makes reasonable people who care about this country (“the other side,” “the libs”). Well, color me skeptical. I think that position is more than warranted at this juncture.
