  1. bomb
  2. that's a good point about Vector's hours. gotta get pickup orders in early. and can't ever really go there to watch a game because they shut it down before primetime games end. Taco Joint is next to Birdie's. and the other side of Audelia has Shady's, Cedar & Vine, and Resident Taqueria. not a bad little area for food.
  3. for a little more perspective, Michelin just gave its first ever rankings for Mexico, and the entire country had 18 restaurants receive stars. two got 2 stars, and 16 got 1 star. Pujol and Quintonil got two stars, and those are world famous. i can't imagine any Austin (or any Texas) restaurant will get 2 stars in the debut rankings. https://robbreport.com/food-drink/dining/el-califa-de-leon-michelin-starred-taqueria-1235628964/ the X factor here is that a taco stand in Mexico City got a star. you would hope that a few BBQ joints (like Franklin or Cattleack in Dallas or Goldee's in Ft. Worth) will be considered, as well as some taco joints. and that could raise the number a little bit.
  4. this is a subject that is near and dear to me as i get older and look at exit strategies if things in Texas really get turnt up. i've got little ones so i've got a lot of considerations as i get closer to retirement. i'm definitely considering the Great Lakes area as a possible refuge. if not to move there, then to buy a little vacation home for the summers.
  5. you're looking backwards. you've got to look to the future. Madison is regularly cited as a "climate haven" where people will be moving to in order to escape the heat or extreme weather events brought about by climate change. https://theconversation.com/looking-for-a-us-climate-haven-away-from-disaster-risks-good-luck-finding-one-211990 i'd absolutely consider Ann Arbor or Madison. ruling them out but considering Scottsdale/Phoenix seems insane. click on the video to see what are considered climate havens:
  6. i still love how Wally Pryor never realized there was an apostrophe in "Gatti's." at every UT game i went to, he always called it Mr. Gat-tiss instead of Mr. Gat-tees. man i loved the Gatti's buffet, even as an adult.
  7. in Dallas, i'd expect Lucia and Purepecha to be in consideration for a star, maybe Petra & the Beast. Houston will likely lead the pack. 19 Austin restaurants getting a star is the most delusional prediction i've read in a while, and i read the Cloak Room and $9.95 regularly.
  8. good to hear. we loved RM Bistro. haven't tried Goldie's but we will soon since we're so close to it.
  9. motherfucker. you had 50 yard line tickets to the Super Bowl. holy shit, those seats are incredible. sponsor hooked you up.
  10. I know none of this matters to voters. Maybe to a sliver of independents. Maybe. But this is just overtly signaling where we’re headed. And Trump can say this is from his Yale Law School VP.
  11. her clerks/Federalist Society/Heritage Foundation started drafting that bad boy the day after the case was filed. they were just waiting for Thomas's concurrence to fill in that cite. today was the perfect day to release it. when Trump has as much sympathy as he'll ever have from the American people after being shot at.
  12. JD Vance checks a lot of Trump's boxes. Didn't know this about Vance's wife, Usha Chilukuri Vance.
  13. Fuck Colombia. They don’t deserve to win. Their supporters suck. Attacked Uruguayan fans, stormed the stadium tonight. They should go home in tears. Just hope they don’t do any more damage on the way out.
  14. Is Jimmy Sexton his agent? He’s looking to get Luis a big raise from Spain.
  15. The spare ass ISCO Championship in Kentucky is going on. 5 man playoff about to start, which includes Pierceson Coody, who birdied 18 in the last group to make it.
