  1. Got in the car and still had it on the ticket from the 10-noon slot. Heard Danny saying this is overblown and not as bad as AIDS and nothing shut down for AIDS even though when you got it in the 80s and 90s you died. Guess Danny thinks this is an STD? Or he's just like the Italians were 2-3 weeks ago when they had a few cases and said F it no big deal we'll be ok and carried on as usual. Now their healthcare system is overrun, everything is shut down anyway, and they're choosing who to let live and who to send home to die. They should just talk about sports or bands or whatever banal thing they can find if they aren't going to do proper research on this.
  2. What? Their job is to steal from the American people. Right now isn't prime stealin' season due to virus
  3. It was part of a dismantling of social services to help balance out the 2.3 + trillion dollar corporate welfare to billionaires that was the 2017 tax reform. So now that we're all fucked we can take solace in the fact that billionaires got to add a few hundred million dollars to their pockets at our expense
  4. I wouldn't eat at a restaurant anymore but you can still do take out/delivery service and just nuke it or heat it in the oven for a while before eating. Info I saw is this virus is the same at as any other in that greater than 157 degrees (I believe) food temp kills it.
  5. Shit put a PS4, a lounge chair w umbrella outside, and a bad ass TV/internet connection and how do I sign up for this?
  6. People are contagious with this thing about 24 to 72 hours before they show any symptoms
  7. I wasn't aware just how many drugs we relied on China to produce. Makes me wonder why China didn't just start cutting supply or raising the prices to crazy amounts once the president started the trade war with them. Seems that would have been a pretty good way to bring this country to it's knees.
  8. If all sporting events go the way of the NBA what are they going to talk about? Just a ton of 1:30 news type stuff?
  9. And ok with getting sick and playing that game of virus Russian Roulette where you take the 1 in 6 chance you won't need medical attention in a foreign country.
  10. That shit these people are saying is even dumber than the "this is just like SARS" people. At least SARS is a type of coronavirus even if it's completely different in that it isn't contagious until a day or two after you show symptoms. If it was as contagious as this one we would have gone through an even worse version of this 17 years ago.
  11. I've been wondering about this and have searched online but haven't seen any kind of answer from any decent source at all. just to be cautious we stopped eating at restaurants over the weekend and I've picked up take out and gotten delivery a couple of times but I've either nuked it or put it in the oven at 400° for about 10 to 12 minutes. I would imagine that would be sufficient to kill any virus on it but if not I would sure like to know what it is In my research I did find articles about Wuhan where the food delivery business boomed and the major food delivery companies were giving thousands of free deliveries to medical personnel. I could see something similar happening here
  12. It's insane how far we've fallen and how badly we're about to pay for the sins but I'd say the apex of the USA was September 10, 2001. It's been a steady decline in most ways since then.
  13. It should be up to the patient. If you know you aren't getting treatment because you're deemed too old or fragile to use resources on wouldn't you want to be ended quickly?
  14. This is what I'm seeing as well now there is zero chance of containment. I think the only thing that we should do that makes any sense is canceling all large gatherings of people over 50 to 100 including schools while doing everything possible to increase our ability to treat patients with intubation as much as possible. Other than that have to just keep living a normal daily life of commerce because shutting everything down will just cause a great depression like situation. We just have to come to grips that close to or over 1 million Americans will die in the next 12 months and there's nothing we can do about it. Just have to do everything within reason to avoid the situation where we can't treat the sick and have to euthanize the elderly critically ill so they at least don't suffer from suffocation. All those scenarios of deadly disease pandemic being the Achilles heel to modern technological society are coming to be.
  15. If your thing is taking about girly reality shows there's nothing wrong with that. Fly your rainbow flag proudly. Just not my thing.
  16. Ok killer I put it on for a minute just to see if this Dan and Jake show has gotten better and it's them and Julie talking about some reality TV girly bullshit. Bob Sturm may be the most talented sportstalk individual in the history of the fucking universe
  17. Can they find one a little more updated that's a month old
  18. That stupid son of a bitch is going to let our healthcare get overrun and thousands to hundreds of thousands more people die than needed to. All because of an idiotic idea that he can cover it up like every thing else and not take the blame. Just call them flu deaths. Even fucking Putin is taking more precautionary steps than this
  19. Yeah, the majority of Americans will be exposed in the coming 6-12 months and the overwhelming majority will survive it. We are going to lose several hundred thousand to a couple of million of us along the way though. Just gotta hope you get one of the empty chamber slots in the virus Russian roulette we're all about to play. I know Osterholm was against shutting schools because kids aren't affected by this hardly at all but can't they still be transmitters? Putting the burden on school children for being responsible for contracting the virus and indirectly killing their parent or grandparent seems harsh as shit. We need to figure out a way to shut schools for the remainder of the semester while providing child care relief to nurses and medical personnel.
  20. The problem is it seems people begin shredding the virus days before they show symptoms or temp increases. Our biggest problem is we as a country spend billions every year on military waste while we didn't even think to spend a few hundred million to make sure we were stocked with millions upon millions of surplus face masks. If we could mask everyone or near everyone then the rate of shedding goes way down.
  21. This was written 2 weeks ago outlining just how much trump and his cronies are fucking us on this https://blog.ucsusa.org/anita-desikan/trump-administration-has-hindered-ability-to-respond-to-coronavirus
