  1. A massive part of that is because of American "work yourself to death" culture. You are looked at as a lazy bum and not a team player if you call in sick. In this country if you want to keep your job or at least keep a high standing for possible promotion you can't ever call in sick. You have to show up so they can see how sick you are and they send you home.
  2. I think you have to go back to that time and see that HBO had Ned/Sean Bean front and center in promotions during the first season and he got top billing in the opening credits. He was presented as THE man the show would focus on. Of course that was done intentionally to make more of a shock value but at the time any person unaware of the book story never saw that coming due to how prominent he was.
  3. It's all a matter of preferences but I disagree. I don't think it had fallen off a lot other than the moment of pure soap opera cheesiness when they killed off Jon Snow as a season finale cliffhanger only to have a minor character bring him back to life the next season. That was horrificly bad and at the time I thought that was the shark moment but I think it rebounded nicely from then up until battle of the Bastards. The next episode where they had every story line they had worked and built up just wiped clean with a Cersi reversal was the beginning of the consistently sharp downward slide IMO.
  4. Why is it now I know rubbing my eyes means almost certain death my eyes keep feeling like they need rubbing?
  5. The show peaked at the Battle of the Bastards. If you wanted to re-watch just stop with that episode. It was all downhill immediately after that one although I still think it was a good show just not to the lofty standards.
  6. Wilder just lost and Joshua is just coming off reclaiming his belt after losing as well. That's why they should both have to fight each other to see who gets the right to go after the undefeated champion. Unless there's somebody else besides Wilder in the heavyweight division who should fight Joshua instead for that chance. Wilder got dominated for every round except 1 or 2 over the course of 2 fights with Fury so I'm not too keen on watching him get dominated by Fury a third time.
  7. I hate that immediate rematch shit. Wilder should have to fight Joshua for the right to fight Fury again. Fury beat his ass twice already and only corrupt judging kept Wilder from getting 2 Ls
  8. That would be good provided he can recover quickly and get back into form. Time to get back to winning tonight.
  9. So if trump dies from a virus that shares a name with a Mexican beer would that be a sign that who or whatever created this shithole planet at least has a little sense of humor?
  10. Who would you rank as a worse GM among the 4 major US sports? Fisher on 105.3 said he was told by the Jones' the reason Jerry won't pay Byron Jones is because they have a rule about not paying any secondary players. Why would they have such a rule? They feel they got burned by Brandon Carr's contract. So because of one over payment to a pretty good but not gr at CB you just go into every season with trash safeties and whatever you can draft or get off the scrap heap at corner.
  11. I'm happy that they caught her killer but I just don't think it's ever right for the cops to blatantly lie to citizens like this. It's a violation of the public trust and it also should make any cooperation on future cases by people who read the story much less likely. They should have gone the correct route and either obtained a court order for his DNA if they had the evidence or wait for him to throw out refuse that becomes public domain and they can test for DNA. Going after innocent people like this to deceive them is just wrong and should never be done. From any of the criminal lawyers on here my question is what's the best way to go about preparing for any situation where the police may contact you? I do not ever want to associate, aid, or have contact with police in any fashion and I will never provide information or aid them anyway so should I obtain a lawyer just to have someone to direct any query by the police to?
  12. If this thing takes out a significant amount of the over 70 crowd trump is fucked. So hilariously crazy how old and poor white people are so big in the republican/trump camp yet old and poor of all races get fucked over by them the most.
  13. Are places now short on hand sanitizer? If true just head to bath and body works. Picked up some soap and several little bottles of hand sanitizer there less than an hour ago and they had plenty of each. You also get the joy of having your hands smell like Japanese Cherry Blossoms and black cherry merlot.
  14. So reports are Costco has been picked over and bum rushed but I went to market Street a couple of hours ago and it's fully stocked looking no different than a typical non holiday season day. Are people now at the stupid level where they don't know Costco isn't the only place to prep for quarantine?
  15. Going into the season everyone thought Seguin/Benn/Pavelski would be lighting it up but they've each had long dry spells with small windows of hot streak sprinkled in. It really has been Heiskinen/Lindell/Khudobin as the standout consistently great performers. Guri has hit the scene great offensively but gets lost way too much defensively and is terrible in 3 on 3. It's a solid team just a notch below St Louis and Boston.
  16. Bob's Burgers. Fantastic writing and voice acting
  17. I booked a trip for the 15 mile drive down to uptown Dallas. With Coronavirus afoot I'm thinking about postponing.
  18. Fuck you. Haven't had those in over a year but now I'm going to have to stop by and get some. And regret it 3 min after eating it. But they're so tasty
  19. I never eat their prepared food but for milk and the rare times you need a pie you can throw in the oven they're on point. That apple/cranberry pie is the best frozen store bought pie I can remember having.
  20. Sars was 2002/2003. It ended in 2004 with the last transmission. H5N1 "Avian or Bird flu" first appeared in 1996 or 1997 and transmissions outside China began in 2003 H1N1 or "Swine flu" first reported transition to humans was April 2009. It's extremely rare in humans and doesn't transmit easily from human to human. Middle east respiratory syndrome is a type of beta Coronavirus that was found in September 2012 Zika was first isolated as a virus in 1947 Ebola has been around forever. It had an outbreak a couple of years ago in Africa and made big headlines here because the two Dallas nurses, one of them I know, got it from a man who just arrived from Africa. I can assure you it wasn't fake, and I don't remember anyone in the media politicising it then. If there was it was small isolated accounts. This strain if Coronavirus is already way more prevalent than any of those diseases and has spread farther faster than any of them did in the first months. Frankly, idiots believing little graphs and charts they get off social media is a big part of the reason we got into this mess of political shit in the first place. Stop propagating false garbage.
  21. Of course when we have a retarded potato as president and the federal government has been infected with his idiotic sycophants for over 3 years we THEN get a pandemic. Murphy's Law on a country sized scale.
