  1. Yep, happened to my formerly favorite bar Hurricanes on Greenville avenue almost a decade ago. No proper insurance, fire happens, and now it's a shitty ass Dodie's. Oh well
  2. So the control freak coach who famously said he'll never give up play calling again after briefly experimenting with it is now all of a sudden, in his 2nd chance at being a head coach, giving it over to a 3rd year coach? One that he's never coached or coached with any any point? Yeah, sorry but that has Jerry demand in exchange for being hired written all over it. Mike, hate to tell you but history says that's the guy who will back stab you if you don't win it all by year 2, and at the first losing streak come year 3 will be replacing you. If the niners win it all it'll be interesting in that they followed the Patriots plan of hiring a coach and letting the coach hire the GM that will scout and get the type of players the coach wants. The exact opposite of Jerry Jones.
  3. I don't care what the dude says. Nothing will come of it and every successful program is paying out the ass anyway. We are too we just don't have the coaching yet to be successful.
  4. Well that and the bitch can't sing and seemingly has zero talent.
  5. Either Masvidal or Usman. Dominating Woodley for the belt then beating that piece of shit Covington into oblivion in the 5th is quite a year. No reason not to have that be the next fight for both of them in 2020.
  6. Well that's a dam shame
  7. Not if you tip them properly
  8. I remember seeing the promos for CH but thought it looked ridiculously trash so I never watched it. Should I give it a shot now? How many seasons is it and do you need to watch sequentially?
  9. Does anyone else feel this weekend's fight is a sham against a completely washed up and punchy Cowboy that's only designed to get the golden goose a badly needed win?
  10. Nate should sue the glove manufacturer after what they did to his face when on Masvidal's fists.
  11. The one thing I would do if I was Cincinnati is pay whatever it takes to get Brady out of LSU and keep him with Burrow. He got that kid to be extremely accurate and show a level that he had never come close to showing before. If you're going to make him the number one pick it's worth whatever it costs to get Brady to come along as well
  12. Yes #1 pick. No question. Whether the horrible management of Cincy kills his career is the question.
  13. Burrow's a #1 overall pick QB. Sam's a lucky to get a shot as an UFA. Massive gulf in talent between them. Sam's a good soldier but we need a first round pick QB. Right now this coming weekend is a game between the only two active Big 12 QBs with any NFL playoff wins - Tannehill and Mahomes both have 2. That's disgustingly sad for a big 12 state that puts out NFL QBs like crazy.
  14. Yet he still made the offense work around even a bad QB and got to the playoffs with a poor defense. The guy can flat out coach offense and it's why the cowboys should have hired him.
  15. That was from a little less than 5 years ago and while he doesn't sound good by normal standards there's some massive drop off between that and now.
  16. Finally got one because lines and craze have died down and got it without mayo but put some Tapatio sauce on it and it was really good. Tried the Cajun sparkle first but found it doesn't have enough heat.
  17. Well yeah that's the sweet spot between the beginning of the industrial revolution where there were zero regulations and employers took full advantage to fuck over their employees and the recent 40 years where gigantic conglomerates began to buy off politicians to rig the laws in their favor and fuck over the employees more and more. There was that middle ground where unions arose and regulations protecting the worker were strongest while there was little to no foreign outsourcing of manufacturing being done.
  18. No doubt it's definitely a very complex issue with countless variables. I'm just relieved to know our marvelous leadership is on top of doing nothing constructive about it.
  19. I'm sure that's part of it, but that's where ambition and innovation come into play. Yes, your manufacturing jobs are gone. But in the last 20 years a massive industry based on computerized commerce and the internet has sprung up with tons of monatization potential. Those who shifted and adapted have been able to make a better living while others were left behind. But there are a lot of people who refuse to do anything to help their own situation. Refuse to relocate to improve. Refuse to learn a new trade to improve. The US economy is sufficiently massive to carve out a living if you have a little talent and a lot of willingness/ability to adapt. That's the best thing about this country.
  20. If you're born white American then it is. If you're from a failed country like Colombia (which US had a big hand in fucking up) then it's better than the failed country but pretty much any developed Western society can offer similar opportunity. Quality of life is far better in some other places. The rise of populism and overt racism in America is making it less desirable even for American born non-white citizens. I'm a few years away from being able to sell my company and retire to Portugal which is remarkably stable and was my favorite place to live during my European professional futbol days (England was the absolute worst place I lived). There's two main problems with the "working class". 1) many of them are lazy/unambitious/stupid as fuck. We're seeing just how many of these people are out there with the rise of social media. 2) there's a glass ceiling on even the ambitious and talented ones. Unless your talent is something that is in very short supply and incredibly marketable (make professional athlete) there's just a ton of barriers to success to achieving beyond the basic needs (shelter/food). The internet has busted down some of those barriers as it allows you to go outside the traditional chain of college-employee-promotion. It's what I did as I found the discrimination was unbearable in the traditional chain and I had to make my own path, but that took many years, a lot of ability, and a seed investment fund from my professional athlete days to get started. Very few people in America outside the "privileged class" have those advantages. There's really no way to fix the problem of people who are lazy and/or stupid. There are ways to mitigate the issues and try to insure people with talent and ambition have a way to rise to higher levels of success without as many discriminatory barriers.
  21. 1) go fuck yourself. 2) nothing remotely political in what I said. 3) go fuck your mother.
  22. Well that's just stupid.
  23. Not going to lie, I want Vikings v Chiefs in the super bowl
