Love cats. And dogs….lost my oldest dog a couple years ago and now just cats.
Have three rescues. Most recent is a little over a year old now. I rescued him from a gas station storm drain. Saw this kitten run across the lot and down into drain during a busy time with cars everywhere. Never thought I would get him as he was elusive as can be. Was this time last year when we had a week straight of rain. He was living in drain/gas station for over a month. It took me two different traps to get him over a few weeks. The last pic is when I set first trap…a fox came and ran across the lot. I thought that night he was going to get nabbed.
That first trap I got from humane society he was sniffing out and door slammed before he went in…design wasn’t right so I got a round one for my next attempt that worked. It will be a year next week since I rescued him.
On the question about bathing. My other cats are the same way. They avoid going into water at all costs. This guy, he walks in it. Living in a storm drain does that. He loves baths. You would have thought he was waiting for a hot bath the day we gave him his first. But most cats will claw your arm off. And as the above poster said, they self groom well so bathing is only needed if they get into something and have to have one…or just older and could use one.
His two brothers are finally getting to accept him. One more than the other. But yes, cats are awesome.
