  1. Worst by far was Chris Connelly (Ministry, RevCo, Pigface) at old Emo's for a solo gig. Everyone was expecting industrial or punk, but instead he tried too become a crooner. Spoiler: he can't sing for shit.
  2. Yeah, I got a long with her ok based on the Austin connection (and I was her boss), but she was a handful. Plus, she had a creepy, weird relationship with her dad. Not saying there was something going on but not saying there wasn't either.
  3. Lol, I produced one of her early films before giving up the entitlement of Hollywood for the casino business.
  4. I've actually worked with Amber. She was an entitled, egotistical bitch ...and that was before she was famous. But, by all means, keep white knighting her
  5. I think all of us over 40 have at least one close relative who was in mob (RIP Uncle Donnie), but alas the glory days of La Costa Nostra are long gone.
  6. How about a little Susanna Hoffs to ease the Gen X suffering...
  7. Giancana was the Chicago mafia... they ain't helping no Yankee. If you're gonna be paint my people with the same brush, at least have the common curtesy to label us correctly.
  8. *Equal Employment, not Civil Rights, which I assume would be next
  9. Whereas my property manager just told me this morning that my tenant would be late with rent this month because financial struggles and I said no problem without asking about their political beliefs. Even though, based on where the property is (rural Georgia), there's a 99.9% chance he supports Trump. I apply my rules equally to all. In my mind, I'm being understanding, but apparently, I'm the bad guy. Anyway, didn't come to post about that... came to ask if Trump really got rid of the Civil Rights Act or am I misreading this...
  10. Oh, I get it. There are special rules. That sounds like the same "rules for thee but not for me" BS the right uses. If you can't see the hypocrisy, that's on you not me.
  11. Sounds like you inferred something that wasn't there. I said doesn't infringe on someone's rights, not "doesn't negatively impact" others. Big difference. Also, I have not said the work Bruce since my first post, and it was in response to ...checks notes... Troph's wife posting a Tweet/X post saying Jenner voted to be called Bruce. Since then, I have used the terms Jenner and They, so no, I haven't been blasting "polka music" ...which is Czech, by the way (meaning little Polish girl) not German. The German equivalent is Oom-pah which you noted. But I digress... I've spent the rest of my posts differentiating between generalized slurs, IE N-word, T-word, R-word, etc, versus individualized slurs. Which somehow you put in quotes as, "Well, she's not the intended target of my insult". While it's true I am NOT, nor would I refer to Troph by her dead name (unless she too voted for Trump), I simply don't see the correlation between disrespecting an individual (Jenner) and disrespecting a group (Trans people). I have a "dead" last name, so I might have a little more perspective than you. I was adopted by my stepdad when I was 7, but I never felt comfortable with his last name, in fact, I hated it. When I was 19, I changed it, but some people still referred to me by my previous name. Sometimes as a habit, but other times as an insult complete with the not so nice, play on words that my former last name afforded. But I never thought they were insulting all adopted kids who didn't like their adopted last names. Frankly, it didn't even bother me. It was a "them" problem, not a me problem. Just as you can, and probably do, view my opinion as a me problem. Which is fine, and your right. I simply don't care. My responsibility in life isn't to tip toe around other people's feelings. I try to be nice to people who are nice to me, but I'm not going to bend over backwards to spare people's feelings. If that's being an asshole, the I'm an asshole and I'm fine with that. Not everyone is going to like me all the time. I agree with many on here about a lot of things, this just isn't one of them. I feel like we've become a culture of whiners who get offended too easily. There is plenty of bad shit heading the trans community's way if certain people (people Jenner voted for) get their way. Jenner being called by a dead name shouldn't be high on that list of concerns. There's a saying I learned in kindergarten that we might want to refer to from time to time ...sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.
  12. Last post on the subject, but what the fuck are you talking about? Jenner is an individual, not a group. Elon has Asperger's, and likely another personality disorder, but calling him Elmo, or Nazi, or any other derogatory term is a reflection on him, not every person suffering from mental health issues. If you called him the R word that would be different. Clearly there is a disconnect in our ways of thinking, which is fine. If we all agreed on everything, life would be pretty boring.
  13. And your point? Am I supposed to be ashamed that I suffer from a mental health issue? Stigmatizing people with mental health issues is why many are afraid to admit they have them. I'm not ashamed of it
  14. The fact that you can't see the difference between the two scenarios is a "you" problem, not a me problem. Individual vs collective. Truth is I'm not a particularly empathic person so how other people perceive things isn't really a concern of mine. It's a character flaw, to be sure, but it's not something I have control over. I've actually been diagnosed with mild psychopathy ...and yes, it is measured on a spectrum.
  15. That's a different topic in my mind. There shouldn't be people who are able to work yet can't make enough to pay taxes. That falls under the "regulatory" responsibility of the government. I believe in a maximum wage. Those who can't work, should be taken care of by the state. IMO, our homeless problem can be largely attributed to lack of funding for mental institutions, and income disparity. Both of which would be taken care of in Dixon's Republic. Does it say "Not Applicable" now?
  16. Yeah, basically I just don't like paying taxes for imperialism, and a never-ending drug war.
  17. Why shouldn't I? I've paid my taxes just like the idiot gun owner who accidentally shoots himself in the foot while cleaning his gun.
  18. Their messaging has definitely shifted that direction in the past 10-15 years, but the proof hasn't shown up in the pudding when they've been in office. Frankly, I don't trust either political party to actually change the status quo. Too much money at stake.
