  1. Development for a major casino company. They let me live in Austin, but I have to come out here for meetings occasionally. Decided to bring the dogs and make a vacation out of it. We camped the northern rim of the Grand Canyon, went to Zion on Monday, and I think we're going to head up the Pacific Northwest and over to Montana before heading back. @blacklab inspired me with his overlanding tales, so we're gonna give it a try.
  2. Yeah, I haven't seen Jane's since the mid-90's, but I saw Love and Rockets last year at ACL Live and they were fantastic. My ticket (2nd row center on the mezz) was only like $130 with all the TicketMaster fees, which is basically free in Las Vegas terms, so I couldn't pass it up.
  3. Not once...not twice, three times! ...checks notes...sorry, FOUR times! Editor's note: I work in the casino business and bankrupting 4 casinos is impressive. Like Baxter eating an entire wheel of cheese impressive.
  4. Had to go to Vegas for work and decided to take the dogs with me, so I drove. Long story short, Kamala/Walz better start pumping some ads into Arizona and Nevada. I can't turn on the TV or watch a YouTube video without seeing 3-4 ads by team Trump hammering her on the border crisis and painting her as a "California liberal" who's soft on crime. Letting MS-13 members out of prison, killing babies with fentanyl, etc. Over the past week I've seen maybe 2 Kamala adds and they were both meh. The message of "hope" and appeals to the good in people worked for Obama, but I fear that ship has sailed. I think she needs to attack Trump, but her message seems to be too much about her record as an AG. I just don't think that will win her the election. Fear works, and her campaign needs to paint a picture of a second Trump presidency that will drive people to vote for self-preservation.
  5. Just got to Vegas for work last night, checked to see if any interesting shows were in town... Bingo... Jane's Addiction (original line-up), and Love and Rockets sharing a bill at Fontainebleau on Friday. Couldn't hit the buy button fast enough. Can't wait.
  6. He's gonna be a good one, but I like Clark. Seems so natural when you watch his Hudl Ok, I'll stop trying to post pics from my phone with bad wifi... I'm picking the first image that loads when I google them and obviously that's not getting job done.
  7. Good catch... I have the world's worst wifi and grabbed the wrong pick. But according to the media guide Gibson is 205... he's definitely more than 5 pounds heavier than Wisner
  8. I used to be a carnival worker... But seriously, you can look at these two images say "yeah, these guys are the same size"? Blue: Wisner:
  9. Wisners 200lbs Yeah, and Sydir is 350 I learned a long time ago to never trust the media guide
  10. Yup. Difference between running down the field at top speed and being a willing battering ram, and running 5 yards and getting popped by a 225lb LB. And Henry Melton hit the fuck out of people once he moved to DT. F= M*A Wisner has the "A", but lacks the "M". He'd get killed if they asked him to play like RoJo.
  11. Agree to disagree. Size dictates type. Yes, Keilan had a special gear that not many have, but Wisner is plenty fast and can change direction on a dime. That's not even remotely RoJo's game. I suspect Wisner will be used a lot more like Keilan, but I guess we're all about to find out.
  12. RoJo was like 220 lbs. Wisener is like 180-190.
  13. I think Clark will be the real winner in this situation. Blue will move to RB1, Wisner will play the Keilan Robinson role, Gibson will be short yardage, and Christian will be Jaydon's primary back-up... bank it.
  14. Poor Baxter. If he misses significant time, he could end up getting passed over by Gibson and Clark. I feel bad for the kid because he's now 2 for 2 in seasons starting with an injury.
  15. One of the greatest callbacks of the show is how they ended the final episode the way they began the first... with the conversation about the button.
  16. These people are so stupid, this 'logic' doesn't even make sense. Where exactly does Jesse think Jamaica is? Is he really not aware the Jamaica is part of North America? And that all of North, South, and Central America are part of... checks notes.... America? I mean for Christ's sake our country is literally named the United States of America as in the United States that happen to be located in the area of the world known as America... just because we shorten it to just America for expedience, doesn't mean we have exclusive rights to the name. I lived in Peru and was corrected several times when I said I was from America... "they were like so are we".
  17. Trump supporters: We're not weird... Also Trump supporters:
  18. Lol, "shot" I've had worse injuries from scratching myself while I slept.
  19. Except Tulsi is lying and parroting Trump talking points. Trump Claims Harris Jailed 'Thousands And Thousands Of Black People' Over Marijuana, But Her Actual Record As A Prosecutor Is More Nuanced - Marijuana Moment
  20. True. And an unpopular one. IIRC he actually took over as AG when Beshear ran for Gov. To be clear, I would love Beshear as the VP... he's my clear #2 choice. I just really like Gov. Walz, but understand that he's older and not as attractive, which, unfortunately, is a factor.
  21. No, but I lived in rural Kentucky for the 2 years between 2018 and 2020. His dad was a very popular Governor so he had a bit of a tail wind from that, but mostly it was kinda like Biden in 2020... the incumbent (Bevin) was one of the least popular governors in the country at the time. But Andy still barely won. I don't recall the exact count, but it was fewer than 10k votes. During his reelection last year, his opponent was a black man who was basically handpicked by Moscow Mitch. Beshear crushed him.
  22. Typical elitist white family adopting a black dog. I kid, I kid... the only reasons I have Beshear lower than Walz (pending deep dive into his past) is that he's always either been a lawyer or politician, and I remember the pubs talking about some potential ethics issues when he was a lawyer. I think it had something to do with allegations of helping his dad's friends... and no, the irony is not lost on me. But that was like 5 years ago, so I could be remembering wrong. I mean, I still voted for him back then, but just something to keep in mind.
