Six sessions into my return to weekend rounding (5 sits @ 1/3 Winstar and 1 sit @ 2/5 Choctaw during recent WPT event). One notable hand in a recent session, I literally made a lady who had just sat down stand up and leave our table. Kicker is she wasn’t even involved the hand. It was towards the end of the session; I got KK in MP and made the table standard 5x raised to $15. Fold to the Button who flatted. Im 2.5x villain’s stack, who after several rebuys is finally starting to gain momentum, but seeing a ton of flops. Heads up to the flop 5,7,9 no flush. I make a pot bet with intent to take down and move to the next hand, only to have him three bet me. Took a couple minutes to think through, and just didn’t think he was capable of making a play. But set or straight didn’t make sense to me either, as why raise in position with such strength. In any case it was enough info for me to fold. I tabled my hand up to show I was laying down KK. Villain flips over 5,7o. That is when the lady left.
Anyhow, here are results and observations thus far. I would appreciate ya’lls feedback. Booked wins in all sessions with an avg. hourly rate of around $41. Playing pretty disciplined TAG. Not trying to be table captain, but taking advantage of spots to take pots, especially late in sessions when my image is established and people start to fear having me in their pots. As illustrated above, I feel like I am reading tables really well, but admit and give credit to the fact I have been fortunate in table assignments. Limiting my sits to 8 – 10 hrs, but notice that I am ending the sessions below peak. All Winstar sessions were Saturday nights, the Choctaw was a friday.
