  1. 251 yards for Sincere McCormick today against North Texas. Just a dominating run game with 410 rushing yards.
  2. Just need some more consistent QB play to take the load off of Sincere McCormick. 37 carries today. He can't be doing that every week. 165 yards
  3. Just got home. It was a fun game. Runners definitely came alive in the 2nd half, and defense stepped up with some big stops.
  4. Yep. My teams are winning on counter attacks right now. We have A LOT of work to do on front court offense. They need to learn to move away from the ball. Constantly.
  5. Gold Coast. I believe from Ventura.
  6. Coached the last 2 weekends of the Central Texas Festival hosted by Aqua Tex, and Zilla up in Cedar Park and Round Rock. I took my Boerne team up last weekend and this weekend. It was very well run. I felt like they had a great mitigation plan. A team from California came out this past weekend since this is one of the first USA Water Polo sanctioned tournaments to be held. My takeaway. We have some strong young players in Texas. The established Girls Clubs are playing very physical. The schools that already have a good number of club players will definitely be leading the pack when UIL kicks off. San Antonio area teams will need to try to get their swimmers to play polo also, and use speed on the counter attack, both offensively and defensively, if they are going to have a chance to compete from the get go.
  7. For coaches, it means, or should mean, a Head Coaches position. This will be the big conversation next year. It's a separate sport, so should be treated as such. And yes a championship. UIL water polo will start in early August. It's pretty much the same as the volleyball schedule. Championship format for Region and State. As a swim/water polo coach, this means I have a chance to use Water Polo to hook some kids into aquatics. I might be able to find some sprinters.
  8. [video] At 2:28. She misses the block. But damn she is way out of the water.
  9. Some cool insight Lobo. Yeah. It's just so hard. The last time I played in a Master's tournament, it just wasn't any fun. I had lost my ability to transition back and forth for a full quarter and ended not being able to contribute on offense like I used to. Since I'm small, my game was all speed, crafty drives, countering late in the shot clock, and playing deceptive defense while staying the hell out of center D when possible. Most schools will have boys and girls programs from the get go.
  10. Is about to explode in Texas. I'm assuming this will be news to most here, but Water Polo was added to UIL's list of sports. This is a long time coming for many who have been pushing for this for decades. It is the first new sport added to UIL since Wrestling was added in 1999. Competition will start in Fall 2021. I've always felt like Texas was the perfect place to grow the sport. We have some incredible club swimming programs, and kids who are hungry to play. When I played in high school many years ago, the only schools that really competed were NISD schools in SA, St. Marks, and the Houston area (Sterling, Humble, Clear Lake/Creek, etc) schools. There are already some strong club presences out there in Dallas, Houston, and Austin, but I think things are going to get moving elsewhere. Share your experiences or thoughts.
  11. Not boats, but I've been going into Boerne from SA every Saturday to do some coaching. Looks like these folks are celebrating each other and their big flags EVERY Saturday until the election. First weekend I thought, "oh okay, it's Boerne. Makes sense". Now they are just screwing up traffic and being annoying.
  12. Person Woman Man Camera TV Sounds like a Radiohead album or song.
  13. If I’m remembering correctly, my sisters wedding reception band at the Lackland officers club were military personnel playing a civilian gig. They did a bad ass version of Miami Sound Machine’s - Rhythm is Gonna Get You.
  14. Haven't been down in close to 20 years. Thinking about trying to take the family if we can find a place, so looking for recommendations. I think it will only be 4 of us. 7 and 5 year old boys. Will probably cook at home, with maybe a little take out ( I think I'll need to try that ceviche) so I'll need a full kitchen and hopefully access to a grill. Really just looking for some quality beach time during the day, and maybe some pool time in the evening.
  15. Not going to lie, people that "have to get out to the bar!" are immediately VERY unattractive these days, no matter how "attractive" they may be. That NEED just makes me ill. And I had a regular weekly meet with my brother at a local bar before this started. This bar opened up that first weekend, but now just announced they are closing again. My buddy is an Urgent Care doc. He had at least 7 positive cases last week. I believe that 4 or 5 of them had gone to bars the first weekend we opened up.
  16. Jim Copeland! I believe I worked for him at I-10 Diner in the mid to late 90's after he left Luby's. Yes? Is "Old Bandera" the Luby's in Leon Valley? That was our regular place when I was growing up. South Park Mall was where my boss usually suggested when I was working Pharma down in the area.
  17. In my youth, we probably went a couple of times per year. Dad ALWAYS got Liver and Onions. Then, I went a couple of times when I was in sales and my boss rode with me. I think it was usually when we were down on SW Military. When I got married 8 year ago and my wife started requesting Luby's to go almost weekly. I was very WTF? about it. But honestly, we had some pretty good meals, especially when our boys were babys. We would just get a couple of baked chicken meals, and make plates for them. It got old a few years ago and we haven't been. Always loaded up on fried okra.
  18. You aren't really up with the times are you?
  19. Well. Now I know why things seemed odd when I was there yesterday afternoon. Employees were probably being told one of their own was diagnosed. Damn it! Guilbeau was one of the 3 stores announced today.
  20. Guilbeau staff starting to get that 1000-Yard stare. Of course, many of them are new employees I think. Lot's of new faces.
  21. Less than the dick tuggers he mentioned. Dick tugger?
  22. Orale! I made a short move across Braun 2 years ago and stopped going to the big one. I love the Guilbeau store for the convenience of parking up front and getting out fast. My sister is still a super HEB snob. I'll hit it when I need something a little more "fancy". Still cant get eggs at ours though.
