  1. We found a used vehicle that we are interested in. We don't NEED to trade are car in to get it and will pay cash. The current vehicle, a 2013 Rouge with only 34,000 miles has a few cosmetic things (thank you wife) that can be fixed by a body shop friend of ours. Is it better to fix the issues and sell our own? I just know if I trade in they will point to the scrapes and knock a shit load down. I've also heard you can just go sell your vehicle at CarMax and get a better deal than you would for a trade in. Thoughts on that?
  2. And that is what I expected. I''ll probably do another this weekend so I'll compare.
  3. Civility in Public Life Award to Beto and fellow Marshall Ram Will Hurd. Oh, and 4 more BETO signs popped up in my neighborhood today.
  4. That sounds like while growing up in San Antonio, we would always say we were from the Northside or maybe Northwest side. We just didn't didn't want to be West side.
  5. So...My first brisket was a little dry. Nice flavor but I definitely left it on too long. Chopped it up and made some chili. One of the potential issues was that my Smoke ambient temperature probe was running about 25 degrees HIGHER than the WSM lid thermometer. I expected the opposite and wasn't quite sure how to deal with it so I ended up adjusting things way to much toward the end. The probe was on the top grate about 2 inches from the brisket. Thoughts? I have the 22.5 . Also, I filled that grate to the top using Minion method and never had to add anything. According to the lid thermometer, it was hitting 275 at 15 hours.
  6. Bumping since I'm trying to decide if I need a few more quotes. Thanks for any input.
  7. Wow. Paul not looking good. He was determined.
  8. Yeah, My Honda variable speed self propel is great. My house is on a pretty gradual slope so the self propel helps a lot. I also think I had way too much thatch build up at my old house so I bag a lot. I have it on the setting where just a little mulching occurs. I've been on a STIHL kick as I get rid of my old corded equipment. Blower is awesome. I'm getting used to edger. It's kind of a beast compared to the old electric one.
  9. Posting from the deck materials topic because at this point I just need input on cost expectations. Cost per sq/ft etc. I will copy from the other post. Two Quotes so far 1st one would demo the existing 2 level 440 sq ft deck. Small business that isn't full time it seems. He proposed Pressure Treated and using existing structure. He would be putting some decking under the 240 sq ft top level so the total new deck would be 760 sq ft plus stairs. He would use the same type pressure treated for the rail balusters. $14,800 2nd one does not ever use Pressure Treated for the actual decking since they wont warranty it. They are a pretty established decking company. They will use Weston Red Cedar. They will not deck under upper deck (400 sq feet) but will instead put skirting between the two levels using the same type cedar. They will also put in a couple of BBQ shelves/bars on each level. They will used black iodized steel balusters. They also put edging on all along the lengths so that plank ends aren't exposed so the product seems to be a little more high end. About 440 sq feet not including stairs. 240 on top and 200 below. They quoted $13, 738 without demo and $16,625 with demolition and haul off. I've pretty much decided against doing the demo myself. Given the materials offered and the extras, it seems like the 2nd is a much better offer. However, is that still an unreasonably high a quote?
  10. Please see the post a few up. I'm on the budget phase now. Was hoping to get some input on those quotes.
  11. I’m guessing this will be what the rails, skirting, (ours will be 8 ft from top deck to bottom), and edging will look like. I like the clean look. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  13. Beto back in San Antonio for the England/Belgium game tomorrow morning followed by his campaign office opening at 2pm and a party at Rosedale Park at 5:30. The guy is everywhere.
  14. Thanks guys. And to whomever recommended the SMOKE probe, thank you. I'm being spoiled early. The receiver seems to be spot on, so I can stay inside and binge some Netflix
  15. My wife had this T-shirt made for me for Christmas. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Ok. center grate, top grate? Does it matter? I'm only cooking on the top.
  17. Thanks. I'm setting up my ThermoWorks Probes now. Any suggestions on where to place the Pit Probe?
  18. Ok. Going to give a Midnight Smoke a shot. Got 3 seasonings done over the past few nights. Got World Cup consolation game to look forward to about half way through. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Finally got to work on did my first two seasonings. Hot burn with nothing and then then a slower one trying to keep it at 275 with several JImmy Dean sausage rolls. It will be a learning process because when I noted it dropping to 250, i added just a handful of briquettes. Damn it shot up past 325 and I had a hard time bringing it down. I look forward to getting some experience with fire control.
  20. Posted something similar a few pages back. Shit aint right with this dude.
  21. Having Beers With Beto on Friday here in SA. I will probably end up giving more money.
  22. Am I allowed to say this? I can't lie, when I saw him scratching his head and chewing his tongue years ago, I kind of worried about him. Not sure if the guy is capable of making a good decision on his own. The guy is just off. There, I said it.
  23. When I was teaching 7th grade a couple of students were talking to me and asked me "Sir, should we tell a teacher of their nipples are showing?" I was a little surprised by the boldness of the question so I did the best I could, imagining an Elaine Benes situation. "Well, I'm not sure it's appropriate to talk about unless you think you can help save them from embarrassment" The next week in class "Sir, I see you are wearing an undershirt today" Damn it I hate undershirts if I'm not sweating but now I over analyze the situation every time.
