  1. Been wanting to check it out. Right by my parents so I just need to swing by. There was an article in Sunday food section describing it as South Texas Style.
  2. Test was Thursday and got results today. Score of 2 so great news and much better than I was expecting given the results both my brothers got within the past few months. I'm wondering if scores can get worse exponentially based on age. I'm 53. My 61 year old brother scored around 400 and got a stent put in(he's the reason we all decided to get the test), and my 64 year old brother scored much worse and is going through the steps to figure out what they will need to do. I'll certainly be talking to my doctor about what I need to do to try to stay where I'm at given our genetics and family history. Of course, I know a few things I can start doing differently. I'm going to be recommending this to many more of my friends.
  3. Well now you've done it!!! Have my Calcium Scoring appointment this afternoon and have already been having to try to calm myself....
  4. First weekend of scrimmages for UIL sports. It was HOT out there today!
  5. It's amazing the number of teams that are playing compared to when I was playing many years ago. 6AWP_23x.pdf
  6. Yeah, when the job opened up and I heard someone was coming from outside the area, I figured he might be ready for one last stop before retirement. Not a bad place to do it. Great situation. They are building a new pool for the high schools next year.
  7. UIL Season 2 first day of practice was today. My teams will start tomorrow since I (and many of my players) were up in Dallas for Junior Olympics Session 3. North Dallas did a great job with JO's as usual. I spent most of my time in Lewisville but there were games at Carroll, Keller, SMU, Jesuit, and Garland among others. I don't have a real feel for other Regions, but Boerne Champion boys in Region 4 should come out easily. Honestly, they are stacked and really should win State after getting second last year. They have a new coach who moved up from Houston and has won multiple State titles.
  8. Look, I know they don't have to refill your glass or ask you if you are ok, but there is someone plating your to go food into Styrofoam and making sure it is ok. In fact, that might be their main job on any given night. A small tip shouldn't be out of the question. Small tip. I worked at an old diner in SA (I-10 Diner) in college. My job was to get wine and beer for waiters, make shakes and get deserts, and plate up to-go meals. I also took to-go orders at the bar. Waiters always tipped me out and the non-assholes who ordered to go tipped me a little. But.... I do agree with most of what was stated in the first couple of posts.

Grew up with my older brothers poster stretched across the wall above the closets.
  10. Wedding I went to tonight had them out there making two types of taquitos on their portable cooker. First time trying them. Damn good. I'm definitely going to take the family over to eat in house.

Well shit. I’m behind. But there is no question that Miazga is a piece of shit bitch and I hope I never see him playing in meaningful games. Hate that douche

    Not a Miazga fan
  13. Bump. I was having a beer at Hills and Dales and one of the guys (56 years old) I see there regularly came up to give me a message he now feels he is meant to share. Get the test. About a month ago he went home after a beer and told his wife he was feeling "off". He had been feeling tired a lot the previous month but docs kept saying "we will test you later this summer, your labs are good" . He went out for dinner with his wife but couldn't sleep that night. Blood pressure was elevated so they went to the local Helotes urgent care. Luckily there was a veteran nurse there who pushed tests. He was in the midst of a heart attack. 90% blockage of LAD. He had stents put in that night and is feeling so much better. He has changed his diet and is now drinking Topo Chico at Hills.
  14. Yeah...headed down Friday. No other free weekends for a while so a reschedule is not an option. Bummed that the weather doesn't look great.
  15. I enjoy this most years recently. Laid back, good beer, and fun music. Going to be tough to make this year though. https://fiestasanantonio.org/events/fiesta-gartenfest/
  16. Got invited to the last two SA games and had a good time. They had a real chance yesterday against the Huskers, I mean Defenders but couldn't hit the 53 yard field goal to keep the playoff hopes alive. Players are really accessible. One came up into the stands and hung around to take pics with the fans. Most came by to thank the fans as they went to the locker room. As usual, SA supports well. Not as crowded or loud as UTSA games, but the dome is still a good home venue. I hope it lasts.
  17. Upgraded to PS5 this past Sunday and immediately ran into the memory issue when transferring games. I really don't purchase games often, but would rather keep them handy. How much extra on a M.2 SSD would you all recommend. That can certainly get pricey. I have GT7, Last of Us Remastered, Battlefield, RDR2, Battlefront 2, FIFA, and a couple of my boys smaller games fighting for space now.
  18. Colgate sucks. Always gets all slow moving and backed up at the rim. I prefer Crest.
  19. No joke, the bridge of my nose started sweating when he got to those last two.
  20. Watching the video. Didn't realize he swam in San Antonio for a bit.
  21. Brennan Fight Never Dies! 2 Freshman, 2 Sophomores, and 1 Senior starting lineup. Sophomore Kingston Flemings is the real deal.
