  1. so maybe our most accurate QB has been on the bench all season makes sense 2020 and all
  2. cool, we're on Purdue's level
  3. Both good, I like your way just fine
  4. Because they think we're just commodities and we grow on trees. Who cares if diehards stop watching, we can replace them 1:1 or even 2:1 with casual fans! I'm jealous of the Browns and (likely) the Supersonics when Seattle gets an NBA expansion team. Your suggestion is precisely how it should work, unless the NFL and its franchises want to start paying for the infrastructure their business requires (i.e., stadiums).
  5. that's where we are today Watt: "Players should play hard." Fan 1: "Fuck yeah!" Fan 2: "Hmph. White people."
  6. Of course it looks shitty. Unless you're a golf course, the idea of covering your acreage with grass in this part of the country is pretty stupid. A&M's not physically in East Texas, even if their ethos belongs there.
  7. why is there a palm tree growing at the 30 yard line
  8. look, when you splurge on a fancy meal like Red Robin, something's gotta give
  9. no, just the "getting rid of Comanches" part, it made Texas a lot more livable... white people are pretty swell but I think "superior" is overstating it pretty badly I haven't read Summer Moon yet but it's literally been on my reading list for three (for fuck's sake) years now-- thanks for reminding me. Got The Last Gunfight and Three Roads To The Alamo for Christmas so I guess Summer Moon will have to wait at least a few more weeks
  10. not a fan of Sul Ross myself but I gotta say I'm on his side re: the Comanches
  11. maybe those people should broaden their reading a bit
  12. people still eat Star Wars up as long as ZOMG LUKE SKYWALKER WITH HIS GREEN LIGHTSABER!!!!! is in it why would Disney stop any of the shit that people say they hate, when the fan base has demonstrated there's nothing they won't tolerate as long as they get to snack on sweet sweet memberberries? I probably need to add a PS, I'm not saying The Mandalorian is bad, not good, meh, any of that. I haven't watched it, I have no opinion about it either way. All I see from my limited exposure to it is squeeing over what amounts to different levels of fan service.
  13. as soon as I saw that his middle initial was "Q", I knew he was guilty
  14. As someone who's relapsed multiple times in the past after 30-60-80-180 days, I can vouch for this. Let me first acknowledge that my sobriety is nobody's responsibility but my own, and I was always 100% responsible for my relapses. Having said that, it made a huge difference to have a sponsor who knew the difference between detaching with love but continuing to present the program as "always here when you decide you want it", and having a sponsor that treated me like a losing Publisher's Clearinghouse Sweepstakes certificate.
  15. If we lose, that's 11 straight years with at least four losses. Here is the all-time Top Ten in win %, with their respective longest streak of four-loss seasons in parentheses: 1) Ohio State (5) (tie) Michigan (4) 3) Notre Dame (7) 4) Alabama (5) 5) Oklahoma (6) 6) Texas (10, current) 7) USC (6) 8) Nebraska (17, current) 9) Penn State (6) 10) Tennessee (16, current)
  16. Yeah I don't mean to sound like Wescott Eberts horking down black pills, but the Liberty team I watched last night was out for blood. They have good athletes and their head coach is at least as good as ours. We have better raw talent on our roster but most of it is spoiled and lazy. Properly motivated, even our badly coached lazy talent could beat Liberty, but I can't really envision a scenario where we would be properly motivated-- our guys looked totally into it against Oklahoma State and Kansas State but otherwise it was on an individual case-by-case basis this year and most of the last 10+ seasons.
  17. And they're grown men who may or may not feel like being coached
  18. I feel like Vic Mackey would probably say that, except "mediocre" is too big of a word for him
  19. boys, if we win this one, it will end a streak of ten straight years with at least four losses!
  20. whew!!! I'm glad I'M not one of the stupid people!!! I bet they don't even know they're stupid!
  21. Here's a nugget: in 1989, a week after losing to Rice 6-3, a Baylor team that would eventually finish 5-6 beat Texas in Austin 50-7. Texas finished with its second consecutive losing record that year, but we didn't fire our coach. none of that sheds any real light on Urban Meyer but it is an example of why I'm skeptical we'd ever hit a home run like that in my lifetime, the only home run for us was Augie Garrido. Rick Barnes and Mack Brown were doubles off the wall; Mack advanced to third on a throwing error and then scored on a balk. He was later hit in the head by a pitch and suffered severe brain damage (it was nice of us to let him continue playing anyway).
  22. that's not what they really do under Jimbo Fisher. Jimbo earns his paycheck by going chalk every year. They did beat Florida though-- in a year when coronavirus scattered the season and LSU was epically bad and Auburn was subpar, and there weren't any pesky losable non-conference games, chalk would have been a two-loss season and they only lost once. So, credit to Jimbo Fisher for Exceeds Expectations this year!
  23. Surprised at that too, texassports.com says it was on ESPN. If the 1993 game is up there (an ESPN broadcast), you would think the 1989 and 1990 games would be as well. What might be happening is that a third party might be cockblocking the upload on YouTube. I have uploaded about a dozen non-UT football games to YT over the years, sans commercials, and of those dozen exactly one got nuked by copyright claim (immediately after uploading), and it wasn't ESPN (the original broadcaster) that made the copyright claim. It was some cocksucker third party making the claim on ESPN's behalf.
