keep in mind also that the definition of "white supremacist", in most of our lifetimes, has gone from "a person who believes in the inherent genetic supremacy of the white race" to "someone who dares to argue against Critical Race Theory".
I would like to see the research confirming even a measurable amount, let alone a significant portion or majority, of the client base is "white supremacist".

I hope we hire Urban just so half of Liucci's screeds will be about Texas.

You predicted there would not be a football season.yeah I don't really understand how "we have to cancel a game/a couple of games/half the games because some players tested positive for COVID" is somehow worse than "let's just cancel the whole season without even trying to play"
actually I understand it perfectly given who its coming from

Please move the eyes controversy to the eyes of Texas thread, which by the way is “only” 5,000 posts long so far and growing. Ya, it’s all no big deal and has blown over. Right. Buncha texag rubes in here.

The world is sick of insufficient responses to discrimination.
one, I know it's comforting to think everyone thinks the way you do, but "the world" is very much not in agreement what the problem is, what the best solution is, or what the appropriate response in the moment is
two, you can broad-brush motte-and-bailey it all you want, the issue is not that some people are just hunky-dory with or in favor of "discrimination"

4) Yurcich takes over HC this year. (I mean even if he went 2-4 would it be any different than now? Who cares?
this needs to be better understood
this season is a lost cause, even if we win out. we lose nothing by jettisoning Herman, getting to work immediately on the hiring process, and signaling to recruits and their coaches and their uncles that we are making fundamental changes
the worst-case scenario would be, whatever the worst performance that would guarantee Herman's return in 2021. if four more wins is enough to bring him back, that's the worst thing that could happen, worse than losing out (which would presumably get him fired). If winning out is the only thing that would bring him back, then I hope we lose immediately so we can make the change.

I can understand if you’re a true freshmen or whatever. But seniors and guys who have been in the program for a few years know how the cotton bowl does things.
seems like a cop out excuse.

In Urban's last Ohio State offense, his quarterback threw for 4800 yards and 50 TDs.
His on-field coaching issues at Ohio State were due to nepotism-- retaining Zach Smith and Bill Davis-- and an almost insane level of trust and loyalty to guys whose units weren't producing (Tim Beck/Ed Warinner, Greg Schiano/Alex Grinch). Really, some of those Ohio State teams that won all but one or two games and spent all year in the Top Ten still had Greg Davis-level WTF problems-- like why the 2015 team struggled to move the ball/put points on the board, or why the 2018 team probably gave up more 70+ yd TDs in one year than in the rest of program history combined (I don't know if that's actually true, and don't really care-- it seemed like it).
The main difference between Meyer's Ohio State and Greg Davis-era Texas is that Ohio State won 90% of its games and didn't get shit-stomped by its arch-rival on an annual basis.
I have no qualms about hiring Meyer here but his tendency towards staff blind spots is a concern, something to keep an eye on.
