That shit at the Presidential Palace Retconning Greer to be Muslim was just an absolute  insult to everyone's intelligence.

I mean let's start at the beginning and work our way forward.

our guards also suck at using a screen correctly. in fact our bigs often suck at running it crisply/correctly themselves. this is a constant under Shaka in several different areas- repeatedly sloppy execution of basic basketball plays/concepts, with no repercussions or corrections, as if Shaka doesn't even notice the complete lack of fundamentals. i can't count the number of times that i've watched a big set a weak-ass screen, only to see the ball handler half-assedly "take" the screen without ever even getting close to the screener, who himself is often already popping/rolling before the screening action has even been completed.

there is an advantage in setting a moving screen, that's why it used to be illegal a long time ago. but that advantage is represented on a curve, and when you get to our level of "ole!" bullshit, it's actually a disadvantage to set a moving screen. you need to separate the defender from the ballhandler, and you can't really do that if you're primarily focused on flaring or rolling to take a pass.

  3. For beginners, also, some advice-- the lighter the pick, the more forgiving. You'll probably find it easier to play smoother chords and strum with a lighter pick, at the beginning. I guess your mileage may vary on that.

Also, you should try to play every day, even if just for 15 minutes (on a day where you want to take it easier). There are a lot of benefits to playing every day, both body and brain. I mean that specifically as it comes to learning guitar, but then again there are plenty of body and brain benefits to playing music even beyond "getting better at my chosen instrument".

    What is a literal bowl?

well, the way I meant it was, won a bowl that was literally a BCS/NY6 bowl, so, the 1988 Cotton Bowl doesn't count because there was no Alliance/Coalition/BCS/Playoff. The 2013 Cotton doesn't count because it wasn't part of the then-current BCS grouping.

I could have said "explicitly", perhaps that would have gotten less scrutiny than the word "literally".

We expect to announce the university’s plans for the fall semester by the end of June. This timing will enable faculty to prepare their classes and curriculums so that they can deliver the extraordinary educational experiences UT is known for. It will also provide time for our dedicated staff members to reopen the facilities, integrate new learning technologies and prepare to implement new health-conscious practices and policies. In late June, we will have more information about the state of the COVID-19 crisis, and a strategy to help students plan for the fall semester will be in place.

yeah, take your time guys, no rush

Heil Ditka!  I think The Blues Brothers is unwatchable as well.  But what do I know?  I think Big Trouble In Little China is ridiculously bad.

I don't think people think of Big Trouble as a "classic" in the sense the OP meant "classic". But you've also at least seen it, so you might be in the wrong thread anyway.

  7. I posted this in the unpopular opinions thread where it probably belongs, but I've never seen the appeal of Blues Brothers and have never been able to watch more than 90 seconds of it. If you told me tomorrow "watching Blues Brothers is the only cure for COVID", I'd say "I'll take my chances with my immune system, thanks".

Part of the problem in identifying an aggie is that they look and act much like anyone else until they do or say something decidedly stupid. Most aggies don’t think of themselves as morons, but rather as intelligent individuals. This makes it very difficult to reason with an aggie. Stupid acts can take many forms and vary in degree, but when an aggie commits one it is unmistakable.     .............

At times you may find yourself in close proximity to an aggie in the midst of a stupid spell. It is good advice not to approach them during an incident unless accompanied by a trained professional. If you find that you have no choice, then speak slowly and use small, soothing words. Never try to outwit an aggie since they will only interpret that as a hostile and aggressive act. Always let the aggie think they are superior. And under no circumstances let your face or hands, pets or livestock near aggies mouth.
