  1. Anybody here play a P-bass with flat wound strings? If so, I’d like to hear your thoughts. Specifically, does a P-bass with flat wounds cover all your bases or do you still feel the need to have another bass with round wound strings on it?
  2. The Beverly MA local paper has an article with some interesting details. https://patch.com/massachusetts/beverly/amp/28831354/jeffrey-epsteins-companion-arrested-in-nh-has-north-shore-ties “Maxwell had been seen in Paris as recently as late last month. It's not clear why she has spent time in the United States as the criminal case was being built against her, given her means to go to countries that would not extradite her. Maxwell's arrest comes a day after a yacht owned by Alexander Mashkevitch, a Russian businessman and Jewish philanthropist with close ties to political leaders in Kazakhstan, was spotted in Beverly Harbor. In 2010, Turkish police seized another one of his yachts on suspicion that it had been used to host a sex party with nine young women, including two underage girls, for Kazakh businessmen. Mashkevich was not charged. It's not clear if Mashkevitch was on board the yacht in Beverly Harbor, which departed Wednesday, or if there is any connection to Maxwell's arrest.”
  3. May not matter if there’s not a season, but I just read that sophomore QB Chris Parson transferred from Duncanville to Red Oak. Parson was Ja’Quinden’s backup last season and started in the state championship game against North Shore after JJ was injured in the semis. He was expected to be Duncanville’s QB this season. https://www.waxahachietx.com/news/20200626/red-oak-gains-soph-transfer-qb?template=ampart
  4. John lives, Paul dies. George lives, Ringo dies.
  5. According to NYT... President Trump is scheduled to attend two events in Tulsa, Okla., on Saturday: at 7 p.m. Eastern time, he will deliver brief remarks at what the White House called a “Great American Comeback Celebration” event, and then he will attend a rally inside the BOK Center scheduled for 8 p.m.

    Bob Seger

Oh hell yes. I love me some Bob Seger. Still the Same is my jam.
  7. I think the Albert Lee looks cool as hell. I was tempted to pick up a used Sterling HH model in Daphne Blue that was on CL a few months ago for like $250. I haven’t played a real EBMM one, but I’d like to try one sometime. Since we’re posting funky shaped guitars, I figured now was a good time to post mine. I posted this guitar on TOS, but don’t think I’ve posted it here. It’s a Phantom Phantele that my GF got me for my birthday a few years ago. Based on the Vox Phantom, but with Tele type parts.
  8. I agree with this. I was posting the link just to show that it is real, legitimate data and explaining why the number of Cuban adoptions is so low. But I agree that Nestor likely wouldn’t show up in that data anyways. Perhaps because he was adopted after he got here. Or, as has been mentioned, because he wasn’t actually “adopted” by Gaetz.
  9. I found that same info when I went to the State Department’s site. They break down adoptions by country. Cuban law prohibits adoption of Cubans by non-Cubans. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/Intercountry-Adoption/adopt_ref/adoption-statistics1.html?wcmmode=disabled
  10. To further add to the confusion on Nestor’s age, this link from May 2014 mentions Nestor was a page at the time. He would’ve had to be at least 16 at the time, which would make him 22 now. http://www.myfloridalegal.com/newsbrie.nsf/OnlineBriefs/153BACD0C04D7CC585257CCC0060A403
  11. As far as I can tell, this all started last night on Twitter with some guy looking through Gaetz’s Venmo friends which were public. It started with the tweet below, then another guy spots Nestor and screenshot it. People start commenting. A few hours later Gaetz comes out with the story about his son.
  12. Just turned 19. So he was 14 or 15 when he served as a page in 2016.
  13. Tony Ortega is a former Village Voice editor who’s been writing about Scientology for a while. In 2017, he got his hands on the LAPD reports and published them on his own site. Shortly after, LAPD confirmed that they were looking into it. https://tonyortega.org/2017/03/03/lapd-probing-scientology-and-danny-masterston-for-multiple-rapes-cover-up/
  14. Thanks for posting that. I hadn’t seen that before. That video was the direct inspiration for Elbow’s Gentle Storm video which I was familiar with.
  15. This one is glued. You can see the seam in the pic below. I believe some of the early JA-90s were made with mahogany necks. This one looks like maple which is more common on these. And yeah, this is one of the few Fender’s being made in Indonesia. At the Cort factory I think. The pickup selector switch feels kinda cheap, but otherwise the guitar feels fairly well made.
  16. More pron, just cuz. And it has a volute, which further adds to the unique feel of this “Tele”.
  17. I haven’t recorded anything with it. I got it a couple days ago so I just now got around to cleaning it up and restringing it. I’m used to the shorter scale length because I’ve played an SG Jr and an Epi Riviera for years. But both of those guitars feel like they have longer necks because the neck meets the body at around the 20th fret. On this Tele, the neck meets the body at around the 16th fret. That combined with the shorter scale makes it feel kinda condensed overall compared to my other guitars, including my regular Tele. My left hand just feels like it’s closer to my body when I play this guitar. I’ve never been a Les Paul guy, but I’m guessing it’s a similar feel? Here’s a YouTube clip with some nice clean tones.
  18. It’s Tuesday, so here’s a Tele for ya. Fender JA-90 Jim Adkins model. It has a semi-hollow ash body with Seymour Duncan P-90s. But it has a set neck with 24.75” scale length and stop tailpiece like a Gibson.
  19. Did someone say Kay? Here’s an early 60’s Truetone Jazz King, which is a Kay Speed Demon with a different label. Picked it up a couple weeks ago. Action is kinda high, but not as bad as some I’ve seen. Needs some work on the neck and bridge to get it playing well, but probably does slide well. Gonna try that. I think I have a slide around here somewhere. (Excuse the mess. I had to throw a buncha gear in the back room cuz I had a guy doing some work in the house.)
  20. Maybe post this in the amp thread? It’s called These Go To 11 in the Music forum. Some of the guys there might be interested.
  21. MSNBC producers just told Ali Velshi off-camera that they’d been told that gas lines had been cut and they needed to leave cuz it could blow.
