  1. We worked out a deal for $200 plus he kept the other half of the original blackface grill cloth and the Larry Rodgers reproduction cloth I’d purchased previously to use on other projects. A baffle and grill cloth runs about $100 and a tolex recover costs about $200, together about the same price as the new cabinets he builds.
  2. When I took it to Will a couple months ago, I was gonna get the baffle made and grill cloth mounted. He looked at it closely and could tell that it had been recovered previously. It didn’t have the seams in the right places and the tolex was slightly thinner than 60s tolex. But he measured the cabinet with templates from an original blackface DR and looked at the inside including the tube chart, and he was positive it was a 64 cabinet. So I decided to have him strip it, repair the gouges from the previous owner’s cat and recover it with the correct seam patterns exactly like it would’ve had originally. Will said that when he stripped it, he could see remnants of the original 60s glue and tolex underneath. The baffle is made of fir plywood and made just like a 64 no logo model - without the triangular piece of wood in the upper left corner that supports the Fender logo in 65 and later DRs. The grill cloth is from an original blackface Bassman cab. Will centered the cloth perfectly so that the “ring” from the 12” Bassman speaker fit right over the speaker on the DR. I was really happy with the way it turned out. Next up is getting the caps replaced and electronics up and running. And making a decision on what to do about the faceplate.
  3. Update on my 64 Deluxe Reverb restoration. I picked up the cabinet yesterday from Will Dyke at Armadillo Amp Works in Lago Vista. Before... After...
  4. Squier Bullet Tele in Lake Placid Blue for $119. https://www.musiciansfriend.com/guitars/squier-limited-edition-bullet-telecaster-electric-guitar/l21128000002000
  5. I agree on the Squier Classic Vibes if you want to step up from the Bullet or Affinity. Those are very good guitars. That 60s Strat in Lake Placid Blue and the 50s Tele are really nice.
  6. What kind of music does she listen to and/or play?
  7. Here’s a clip of Duncanville’s first play last night. JQJ with the 75 yard TD.
  8. Is this the same guitar? If so, it’s a Fender Special Run so you won’t see it on Fender’s site. It looks a little lighter in the pics at the link below. https://www.chicagomusicexchange.com/listing/fender-fsr-player-stratocaster-electron-green-pre-order/27735624
  9. Here’s the video of last night’s rally. Clayton Bigsby shows up around the 4:00 mark to pronounce that Kentucky is Trump Country.
  10. I celebrate the entire Super Humman catalog. Woop woop.
  11. My GF and I planned to take our kids to WDW on Labor Day weekend but had to cancel at the last minute because of Hurricane Dorian. Kids were crushed. We rescheduled for next week so we can take them to the not so scary Halloween party on Halloween. Have tickets to MK, AK and Hollywood Studios so we can check out Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge. Have a reservation at Savi’s Workshop so the boy can make his own lightsaber.
  12. Riley has a belly tat and wears a visor. Do not want.
  13. JQJ’s 5 TDs were all in the first half too. Duncanville played their second string offense in the second half.
  14. It could be a misspelling. He’s been known to do that. Check who was on Fox News just before 9:25. Or he’s lying.
  15. I believe this is the fourth straight game that Duncanville’s Roderick Daniels has at least 2 TDs.
  16. I’m not sure I’ve even heard of a category 5!
  17. The responses are gold. And Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation replied to her...
  18. For what it’s worth, Byrd was still listed as OL in the programs printed for last night’s game against St. John’s.
  19. I went up to Duncanville for the game last night. Ja’Quinden Jackson was fun to watch in person. That kid knows how to win. Can’t wait to have him on campus.
  20. I saw Nitzer Ebb open up for Depeche Mode at the Woodlands on the Violator tour in the summer of 1990. I was 14 and about to be a freshman in high school.
  21. In true aggy fashion, the drop will be spectacular.
  22. Like Texifornia said, they’re still really good. But they don’t quite dominate in basketball like they used to. Gonzaga has won the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference three out of the past five years.
  23. Here’s a preview of the Duncanville vs. St. John’s game happening tomorrow. I’m driving up for the game. If any of you assholes are gonna be there, shoot me a PM.
