  1. OU people starting to say Aranda will be the hire. I don’t like that at all.
  2. He doesn’t need money. He could retire if he wanted to. But word I just heard was that Gary wants to be here and he might work for free just to stay busy and to spite TCU. He covets the Texas job. Not sure Sark would want him here, though. Glasgow would likely come if Gary were ever in charge. Sounds like Gary might be content to come spend a year “helping out” and see what happens. If PK shits the bed again and we hire GP, he’d bring Chad. Again, this is from the TCU side of things. Im sure CDC would love to have Gary here, but I don’t know how Sark and the BMDs would feel about it. I don’t see the admins forcing that on Sark. Gary doesn’t recruit, so I don’t see us burning a coaching position on him.
  3. I happen to know people close to Glasgow. My wife and his are pretty close. I’m trying to dig up some dirt, but I’m not getting much. I’ll keep trying. Odds are he wouldn't come because the wife is old Fort Worth/TCU money. At least, if he came, he’d be leaving the family in FTW, which isn’t altogether unimaginable. Anyway, if I get anything out of them, I’ll try to pass it along.
  4. Or they’re targeting someone like Aranda, whose name has hardly been mentioned and who will be occupied until after Saturday, and floating up as many smoke screens as possible to distract the media from the true target.
  5. Uh, I literally said we tried to money whip Muschamp. I felt my post was already long enough without the need to retell the story everyone already knows about why Muschamp didn’t accept the offer.
  6. If you can stomach a rewatch of the OU game, many of the big plays OU had came against a perfect defensive call and dog shit execution by one or two players. Jerrin Thompson shitting himself on the 4th and 1 when Williams took it 60+ to the house is one example that immediately comes to mind. Also, Overshown can’t take on and shed a block to save his life. He’s fucked us all year with that. Alfred Collins is a beast, but he hasn’t quite grasped the importance of squeezing the B gap, which is problematic against the run. Now, does the coach bear some (most) of the responsibility for coaching these issues out of players or replacing those players? Sure. But is it reasonable to expect all those issues to be coached out of a kid in one year? I guess it depends on the kid. Anyway, I don’t think PK became stupid over night, and the defense was far better last week (albeit against an inferior opponent) than the week before and didn’t cave until the offense failed to pick up a first down in the final six drives. I liked Chris Ash a lot because his schemes were simple and his players were fundamentally sound. I wish Sark had kept him just for the sake of consistency and familiarity. But if that wasn’t going to happen, I can’t think of many available DCs who would’ve been better hires. I suppose we could’ve tried to money-whip Vennables and we did try to money-whip Muschamp. I truly think PK will end up being a good hire once the kids get a better understanding of their jobs and we get players better suited for the roles they’re assigned. I guess I’ll duck…
  7. You have no idea. Ok, Pete. Imagine the shit-show you’d be living if you had kids. I’ve heard the Pancho’s story.
  8. There was a day last week when the 2-year old blew it out so bad that they were literally hosing her off at the daycare and calling us for more clothes. One teacher had to leave to get new shoes. We’re going to buy her a new pair. The 6-month old had two wardrobe changes today. Yes, I’m qualified to teach classes on kid shit.
  9. Interesting how the family/kid talk has brought the lurkers out of hiding. Not shocking, though. As the parent of a 2-year old and a 6-month old, I really don’t know how I ever have the time to read this site, let alone contribute. Kid shit is about the only language I speak these days. But I’m glad I have the kids to mostly keep me away from this place after second-half meltdowns and losses to teams I despise.
  10. You’re a fucking moron who I hope doesn’t have a degree from Texas. We should all punch your dad in the face for not finishing in your mother’s ass, you illiterate self-important imbecile. Nothing I’ve ever said suggests that I think Notre Dame is a threat for Arch’s commitment, yet you feel the need to set up a straw man so you can pontificate in the most delusional manner possible that Notre Dame has little to no value to a recruit interested in branding. I know responding to you is a waste of time, as I’m not able to do so in crayon and you will continue to apply the worst interpretation of the English language since my two year old tried to read Gone With the Wind, so I’ll finish by hoping your thimble-sized gene pool evaporates before you’re able to curse the human race with another illiterate half-wit.
  11. My biggest concern with the S&C program is that it seems to have completely failed to develop mental toughness, which is probably the most overlooked job of a strength coach. It’s where a lot of SEC strength coaches like Tom Moffitt separate themselves from average coaches.
