  1. Or they’re targeting someone like Aranda, whose name has hardly been mentioned and who will be occupied until after Saturday, and floating up as many smoke screens as possible to distract the media from the true target.
  2. The most prevalent rumor from OU has been Venables with Lebby as OC.
  3. Uh, I literally said we tried to money whip Muschamp. I felt my post was already long enough without the need to retell the story everyone already knows about why Muschamp didn’t accept the offer.
  4. If you can stomach a rewatch of the OU game, many of the big plays OU had came against a perfect defensive call and dog shit execution by one or two players. Jerrin Thompson shitting himself on the 4th and 1 when Williams took it 60+ to the house is one example that immediately comes to mind. Also, Overshown can’t take on and shed a block to save his life. He’s fucked us all year with that. Alfred Collins is a beast, but he hasn’t quite grasped the importance of squeezing the B gap, which is problematic against the run. Now, does the coach bear some (most) of the responsibility for coaching these issues out of players or replacing those players? Sure. But is it reasonable to expect all those issues to be coached out of a kid in one year? I guess it depends on the kid. Anyway, I don’t think PK became stupid over night, and the defense was far better last week (albeit against an inferior opponent) than the week before and didn’t cave until the offense failed to pick up a first down in the final six drives. I liked Chris Ash a lot because his schemes were simple and his players were fundamentally sound. I wish Sark had kept him just for the sake of consistency and familiarity. But if that wasn’t going to happen, I can’t think of many available DCs who would’ve been better hires. I suppose we could’ve tried to money-whip Vennables and we did try to money-whip Muschamp. I truly think PK will end up being a good hire once the kids get a better understanding of their jobs and we get players better suited for the roles they’re assigned. I guess I’ll duck…
  5. You have no idea. Ok, Pete. Imagine the shit-show you’d be living if you had kids. I’ve heard the Pancho’s story.
  6. There was a day last week when the 2-year old blew it out so bad that they were literally hosing her off at the daycare and calling us for more clothes. One teacher had to leave to get new shoes. We’re going to buy her a new pair. The 6-month old had two wardrobe changes today. Yes, I’m qualified to teach classes on kid shit.
  7. Interesting how the family/kid talk has brought the lurkers out of hiding. Not shocking, though. As the parent of a 2-year old and a 6-month old, I really don’t know how I ever have the time to read this site, let alone contribute. Kid shit is about the only language I speak these days. But I’m glad I have the kids to mostly keep me away from this place after second-half meltdowns and losses to teams I despise.
  8. Dude…
  9. You’re a fucking moron who I hope doesn’t have a degree from Texas. We should all punch your dad in the face for not finishing in your mother’s ass, you illiterate self-important imbecile. Nothing I’ve ever said suggests that I think Notre Dame is a threat for Arch’s commitment, yet you feel the need to set up a straw man so you can pontificate in the most delusional manner possible that Notre Dame has little to no value to a recruit interested in branding. I know responding to you is a waste of time, as I’m not able to do so in crayon and you will continue to apply the worst interpretation of the English language since my two year old tried to read Gone With the Wind, so I’ll finish by hoping your thimble-sized gene pool evaporates before you’re able to curse the human race with another illiterate half-wit.
  10. My biggest concern with the S&C program is that it seems to have completely failed to develop mental toughness, which is probably the most overlooked job of a strength coach. It’s where a lot of SEC strength coaches like Tom Moffitt separate themselves from average coaches.
  11. So the limits of the NIL/brand maximization stop at the south bend city limits. You clearly get it. And regardless of that, no, there is no indication the Mannings are infested in Notre Dame, nor have I ever suggested they were. I think we’re done.
  12. You don’t think the national brand that is Notre Dame is a branding opportunity? You don’t think the one school that has managed to maintain its independence and work out its own television deal because they represent Catholics coast to coast could provide a decent NIL angle? Ok…
  13. I want you to go to my post and find the part where I said they have a better NIL than Texas. Please find anything remotely close to such a suggestion. Some of you mother fuckers have the reading comprehension of a fucking chair. My point was pretty simple: Notre Dame would provide a good opportunity for NIL and marketing. I stand by it. It would not be better than Texas. I doubt any school would be better. Brian Kelly is not the QB coach or offensive genius that Sark is. No school offers more of the things the Mannings value than Texas. However, the Mannings have still CONSIDERED other schools that have benefits on par with Notre Dame, such as Georgia. Therefore, I COULD SEE MANNING CONSIDERING THE SCHOOL, BUT I COULD NOT SEE HIM GOING THERE.
  14. It’s more the NIL angle and the opportunity to grow the Manning brand that I could see being attractive. Obviously QB development isn’t the sole qualification being considered. See Georgia. And that’s also why I said he wouldn’t pick them.
  15. I can actually believe he’d consider them, but I have a hard time seeing them be the school he chooses.
  16. Hoping yesterday’s Trans Am is today’s Bitcoin.
  17. Nah. They’ll start renovating when Texas and OU tell them to renovate. They’ll do whatever they have to do to keep the game at the fair, and both fan bases will support it remaining where it is in overwhelming numbers.
