  1. That’s fair, but my point is that there wasn’t a search. It was knee-jerk. At the time, I probably gave the hire a 7. I didn’t like the losses to Navy and SMU, and the kissing was fucking weird. He called in to radio shows to argue about their takes, too. Weird and unprofessional. There were red flags. No vetting was done other than watching him win games against big-name schools. We never considered the alternatives (which I admit were few). I didn’t love the hire, but I was certain he’d be better than Charlie (duh). I didn’t think there were many qualified alternatives at the time, but I’d have liked there to have been a vetting process before pulling the trigger at the last second because we had to. Missing on Rhule sucked. There were certainly no sure things available, though. There was no Urban. This process has been different and the circumstances are different, I’ll agree. I don’t think we need to freak out, though. Not yet. Our infrastructure is much more football-friendly and competent than it was in the post-Mack era. If CDC fucks it up, I probably still won’t freak out. I’ll just advocate for his firing. I don’t think he’ll fuck it up, though.
  2. I haven’t read the thread since about 10:00 last night. I’m not going to try to catch up. I’ve seen what’s being reported by CTJ, et al, and I don’t even want to know the meltdown that’s probably only in its infancy. I’ll just say this: This shit is messy. If you fire Tom, you put yourself in the position of having to fill the spot RIGHT NOW. That’s what got us Charlie and Tom. I’m perfectly content with how it’s going. CDC is being methodical and he’s not willing to mortgage our future on another gamble. He’ll either stick with the gamble he has (Tom), which I don’t think will ultimately happen, or he’ll find as close to a sure thing as possible. Even if our worst case scenario happens (Tom stays), we will have our kids in the second year of the same system, hopefully with a spring and fall camp. Our defense should be filthy with a real year of preparation. Our offense might even get better, especially at QB. Maybe we get a new OL coach with a brain and everything gets better. Who knows? Things aren’t good right now, but we’re a hell of a lot better off than we were under Charlie. It’s not dumpster fire time, yet. We can be patient if the final result is the best possible result. Until we know that result, temper tantrums will only make things worse. Obviously, I’m choosing to trust CDC. The fact that he’s not making knee-jerk, purely emotional decisions should encourage all of us. Go find something to be thankful for. All will end well.

  4. I’m sure you’re a good guy, but fuck California.
  5. Motherfucking fuck this dream-killing mother fucker. IT’S TOO LATE. I’M ALL IN. URBAN OR BUST!
  6. When you compare this scenario to when Urban went to tOSU, the similarities get more and more similar. The biggest difference is that he and Shelly flat out denied that they were going to Columbus. He must’ve felt guilty about lying, because the guy has made no such declaration this time around. THIS SHIT IS HAPPENING
  7. I’m like a battered girlfriend. He says the right things, and I come back for more.
  8. No Texan would use the word, “cola,” unless quoting a yankee halfwit. Not only are all “colas” cokes, but damn near any non-alcoholic carbonated beverage is a coke. It’s like jello, kleenex or xerox. It’s a generic term to describe an entire subset of similar products. Fucking “cola...”
  9. Perfect opportunity for one of you to tell her about whataburger. IDGAF if she prefers Whataburger or In&Out. We have both, and I don’t think Ohio has either. She needs to get her ass to ATX! And I’m afraid I’m being sucked back in. Let’s do this shit.
  10. Local resorts are experiencing decreases in out-of-state travelers and increases in in-state travelers. Just saying...
  11. Absolutely. Again, I’m not saying that’s the route we need to go; I’m just saying it can work out, whether you come to the decision out of extreme courage or desperation.
  12. Who handed OU down to then-DC Bob Stoops? Not saying a coordinator should be our first second or third option. Just saying a coordinator has done it before.
  13. You’re right. Their delusion is backed by historical success, but imagine if atm had the history. It wouldn’t make them any less delusional. They’d just be entitled and delusional.
  14. Affirmative. Those people are every bit as delusional as aggies (I’m kinda with CTJ on the issue of aggy/aggie), but 100x as violent. I fucking hate that fan base. The women pick fights (fistfights) with perfectly innocent men minding their own business. They throw urine. They’re subhuman. A guy walked into our hotel after the game and pulled off his Ohio State sweatshirt to reveal his Texas shirt underneath. He told us his OSU friend gave him the shirt so he would be able to drive out of the parking lot without getting a brick through his windshield. Subhuman, I tell you.
  15. See, I disagree. They make women look fatter with worse asses. I hate them. I fucking hate them like @Tex Pete hates Kubiak.
  16. High-wasted jeans went out of style for a reason. I hate that they’ve come back.
  17. They might not have wanted to be there, but they also didn’t want to get their stools pushed in the way they did. That game was nowhere near as close as the final score indicated, and it wasn’t because Georgia just decided not to play. They assumed they’d beat our asses and they got punched in the face. It happens.
