  1. Didn’t we say that when Baker graduated?
  2. I think he was actually on the field many more times than he touched the ball. Part of the problem with Porter, if memory serves, was that he was great in pass pro, but sucked with the ball. When he was on the field, the defense didn’t respect him as a potential threat. He was either run blocking or picking up the pass rush. But he got snaps and tipped off the defense in the process, regrettably.
  3. You’re going to hell for saying that.
  4. I heard he’s actually being looked at for HC positions (Arizona and the Jets). I’m guessing even he never imagined that would happen with the NFL.
  5. Impressive. Had to look up illation and imprecation. Incredibly, no, the intimidation implication roused intrigue, imagination and inspiration. Apologies to the board for the irritation.
  6. Neither irritation, nor intimidation, resulted from the intimation imitation.
  7. Intimated... (autocorrect)
  8. And I guess I should hedge a little by saying this conversation was last spring and plenty can change in that time. The primary thing I got out of talking to him was that Garrett Wilson was never coming to Texas. This was before he committed to Ohio State. Drayton told me they put him with Wilson on Wilson’s visit because of the mutual Ohio connection. All Wilson did was talk about Ohio State the whole time. As far as his being happy in Austin, he did seem more pro-Austin than pro-Herman. Kinda got the feeling he and Herman had a better working relationship than personal relationship. I wouldn’t be completely shocked if he left, but he intimidated it would be for the NFL if he left to take another RB spot.
  9. HC job, right?
  10. For sure. I had a lengthy conversation with the guy. He was surprisingly candid about a lot of things. Basically said he might go back to the NFL at some point, but he and his wife love Austin and he expects to be here a while unless something crazy presents itself. Obviously buying a home in Austin doesn’t make it an anchor, though.
  11. Drayton has said he wouldn’t rule out another job in the NFL. He also owns his home in Lakeway, so I know he likes it in Austin and doesn’t have plans to bolt.
  12. Damn. He’s a stud.
  13. Bru McCoy? Did he sign yet?
  14. Yeah, that kid is way underrated. Nice find. Are we talking to him? He’s a hell raiser.
  15. I tried to scour the thread to find any positive news on Henry. Too much of a beating. Did I miss something?
  16. His 2018 hudl shows him primarily at RT, but also some clips at G and LT. Versatility is always good. He’s a hell of a road grater. Nasty. He does lean forward a little in pass pro, but looks solid. I think Hand will be able to work with him.
  17. Is Lindberg just not very athletic? 6’6” 306 are good measurables for LT. Obviously he needs the feet, flexibility, etc., to go with those numbers. I guess I should watch his film...
  18. Exactly. The winning coaches who are “loved” are the ones whose players run the team (Mack, Carrol, etc.) They’re the ones who eventually lose control and implode. If everyone loves your coach, he’s doing it wrong. When you look at the greatest coaches of all time, they’re usually dicks.
  19. It’s better to be feared than loved.
  20. I see where you’re going with that, but Dickerson’s ultimate program of choice definitely risked and incurred some pretty harsh penalties.
  21. Exactly. This is one of few instances where I think the kid would be best served to postpone. None of his offers are getting pulled.
  22. That’s why kids at schools like Westlake or Highland Park can dominate better athletes. Westlake’s coaches max out player potential and win with better technique and discipline.
  23. Maybe by “retirement” he meant pen time. His tweet must be suggesting he got probation and batterer’s intervention classes instead of time, so he’ll be back next year.
  24. Two back will be interesting next year with Ingram and Cain (hopefully). We know Ingram will block. Cain has the build to block. The potential multiplicity is intriguing.
  25. If someone wants to spend the time and money to dig up Fatty’s divorce records, I know he divorced his second wife in Fort Worth in 2002. The sealed records won’t be available. That wife’s name was Tawna. Don’t know her predecessors info. Probably wouldn’t be too hard to find.
